Situation:Looking to see if it is possible for a user to click on an html link that will open a captivate slide.For example:A  single html document that has 30 study subjects on it. When the user clicks on a subject they want to study, it should open up a captivate slide that holds the study material.Not too concerned with the cosmetics, just looking to see what javascript and/or html code is needed to make it happen.

We experienced that Hot-Spot questions generated with Captivate 8.0.1.242 do not work correctly in IE 9 to 11 if published for HTML5.Correct answers are rated false. For a simple demo see http://hotspot.vismedia-update.deDid anyone know a workaround?Klaus

I created a hotspot question in cp8 on a windows machine. In preview mode it works great. In preview in HTML5 browser it does not work - I click the correct place, yet it still says I have answered the question wrong. Any insights?Thanks!  Lori

I created a responsive project using fluid boxes in Captivate 2019 version 11.0.1.266. Everything works correctly on an iPhone, but there are 2 issues on Android phones. First, when you rotate the phone from portrait to landscape the project does not rotate. It is stuck in portrait. We checked to make sure the phone settings were correct and that other apps rotated. Second, on the play bar controls the close button is not displaying. Like I said, on iPhones everything rotates correctly and all the play bar buttons display. We are using Cornerstone as our LMS in case anyone has had experience uploading responsive projects to that LMS.Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

We use Moodle as our LMS and then Captivate and Storyline equally.When updates are required with our SCORMS, our experience with Moodle and Captivate has been that we can simply make the updates (typos, images, slide add/remove etc) republish and reupload - and learner progress is retained.With Storyline and Moodle, we have discovered inconsistent behaviour - after updating the SCORM, the learner may have their progress saved, sometimes they will need to restart. Storyline's official statement, and in discussion with their support engineers is that they're adhering to the industry standard."When you update (overwrite) existing course files in your LMS or web server, learners who previously started the course won't be able to resume where they left off. They'll start over at the first slide in the updated course"From my initial research this appears to be due to how the manifest is handled, and whether identifiers are changed (resulting in the LMS dropping learner progress).My questions

...Hello !...I'm working on new projects : addition in column.As I want the answers to be right aligned, I don't use TEB* but the "scrolling text" widget.But I realize that the learners could write a very long answer in it, so I want to add a button to clear the answer, and didn't manage to do it on the same screen.Do you have a solution ?Thanks !...(*That's a shame that we haven't more options on the TEB ???...)...

Hi,I am new to Captivate and need to get some help.I have about 15 powerpoints I need to turn into projects just to get started on Captivate Prime, but when they pull in, not all information is showing.It is the transitions that aren't coming in.Does anyone know any quick fixes for this so that I don't have to rebuild them all?Thanks!

Hi - i've found answer on this for C2017, and i've tried to set this up but it's not worked. I'm using Captivate 2019 and wondering if the steps are slightly different? To confirm, i have a slide (slide 1)  with 6 buttons on - users can either click to view a particular slide/video or click proceed to view in order. On each slide they then have a back button which will take them back to slide 1. On returning to slide 1 the audio file plays again, if it's the users second visit I don't want the audio to play.The steps i've taken are as follows; Created variable for number of visitsSet up advanced action as followsI've then added this action as and Execute Advanced action on enter, but the audio is still playing.Any ideas? Hopefully it's just something small i've missed!Thanks all.

When I go to publish, it will be at the "Optimizing Content", and then an "Error(s) Internal Error" box will pop up. I click OK and a Publish failed box pops up. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a couple times (deleted preferences), but I can't publish the file. Any thoughts on what can I do to fix this?

Hello All,I am collecting learner behavior data via variables and advanced actions through-out all of my Captivate 2019 course.  My plan was to report these final variable values out using hidden Quiz questions (I do something similar in Articulate 360).  Each course has a test (quiz) which is set up as SCORM 2004. With this I can get a question analysis report from my LMS that gives me all the questions and the learner responses. I then get my hidden variable data out to perform additional analysis on.I have been able to successfully get the data i want into the system variable cpQuizInfoAnswerChoice on a Quiz Short Answer slide. The problem is that even though I am putting a continue line and next line and submit line (tried them all) into my javascript. The slide is still not moving forward - it wants the user to click the submit button.Is there a way to bypass/trigger the submit button other than having it clicked on a Quiz slide??Any other suggestions for what I'm trying

I have a text box on a slide that I want to make sure students fill out before they are allowed to continue with the rest of the course. The text is not to be graded, I just want to make sure they enter something first. I've tried several different things but I can't get it to work correctly.First off, I created a variable for the text box. Then I created an advanced action with an 'If' statement to check for a value before 'Continuing'. This works in doing the validation. However, there's a small problem. If at first try I hit enter with an empty text box it doesn't 'Continue', which is what I want. But then it seems like no more attempts are being allowed because no matter what I enter in the text box it still doesn't 'Continue'. If at first try I enter something in the text box then it does 'Continue'. It seems like it just letting me make one attempt even though I have the 'Infinite Attemps' checkbox selected.I also tried doing it with plain Javascript. I created an advanced action

Hello everyone!For my project I use an entrance animation ( EaseInTop). When I go to preview mode 'HTML5 in browser', the element to which I applied the animation appears then disappears and animation starts after that. It looks very weird and I had this issue before. I tried to publish the project and see if it will be smooth and nice after publishing but it still has this blink. Could you please tell me what can it be.. as it ruins the whole experience.And the 'Effect Start' is 0 sec, 'Appear after' is 0 sec as well

I have a software simulation for a call center product and I would like to have it so that one login takes me to the supervisor features, as though I was logged in as a supervisor, and the other take me to the agent features. I would assume I can specify that if they login with one name it goes to one branch and the other takes me to the other branch but not sure what that would be called in order to look it up.Thanks!

Good Afternoon, I develop and author my company's compliance courses. These courses require users to view the project in its entirety and pass an assessment (100% viewing of every slide). This is mandated by government agencies, and if not followed, as a company we would not be compliant with regulations. For these course, I typically set the slide views to  100% and quiz passed. Incorporated in the project is title slides, instructional slides and other miscellaneous slides that I am not concerned with being viewed in their entirety. I have created buttons to navigate to next slide and it is only visible towards the end of the slide. I have also limited the course navigation to play/pause and end course. The user cannot forward or back up through course, nor can they navigate via the progress bar.Is there a way to tell Captivate that I want 100% view of the slides of my choice and that is all?If not, who would I contact in development to request a software update?

Dear all, I have created a responsive project with multiple breakpoints. All work perfectly, apart from the landscape mobile view. I tested this breakpoint with an iPhone. In portrait mode, the safari browser disappears after a while, as it should. In landscape view, however, it stays stuck on the screen and cannot be swiped away. It takes away precious room from the project. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

The playbar is however shown in all other breakpoints. When I swipe up as suggested by the gesture icon, only a grey box with no buttons appears. Sometimes nothing at all appears. Any tips? If the video is however playing and I turn the phone, the video is displayed incorrectly – loads of it cut off and in a weird position. We wanted to find a solution for our HTML5 output. We didn’t take the time to turn this into a widget because really all we are doing is firing some JavaScript to make the magic. In the download you will find a Captivate cptx file that includes the JavaScript. We also built an Advanced Action to determine if the HTM5 Full Screen button should be displayed. This Advanced Action runs a bit of JavaScript and sets a CP variable accordingly. Then if the course is being viewed as HTML5 we show the button.

Hello,I am creating a quiz in Captivate. Currently I am editing the Master Slide for MCQ/T/F,FIB. I'd like the Back button to be labeled Previous, however I am having trouble editing the text of the button in Captivate 2019. Where can I go to edit this text - I've exhausted all logical settings.TIA!Lisa

Hello,I am creating a quiz that will later be uploaded as SCORM into Skilljar (the latter part is not important unless you have experience in Skilljar and can offer a solution to my problem in that Platform). I'd like to have an overall time allotment for the quiz as opposed to a timer per question. In previous versions of captivate you can easily set the timer interaction to last throughout the project in the properties panel. I am not seeing where to set this preference in Captivate 2019. Hi.When I export my project in captivate scalable in html5, fonts lose sharpness. This has some solution. It seems very strange to me that captivate does not treat the typography as vectorial.

I have a simple HTML project. It starts in a new window  with everything working fine. When maximized, the playbar disappears.Though the playbar disappears, the area where the playbar should be is still active. Click in the right place where the playbar buttons should be and the action still occurs- next, back, etc.If you click and drag the corner of the initial window before maximizing, as the window increases in size, it reaches a point where the playbar disappears. Again, the area where the buttons should be is still still works. This happens on multiple computers only in the Chrome browser. The playbar doesn’t disappear in IE11, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Any assistance will be appreciated. The Captivate playbars work fine for me in every other way and I don’t have a need to create custom play controls except this problem in Chrome.Thanks!!K

Using a +[Default TEB Style] text entry box.I require the User to type 130 characters in this box before this slide moves onto the next slide.130 characters is quite a lot and the more you type, the more words you lose - i.e words you started typing earlier get hidden somewhere in the left of this text boxDoes Captivate 9 allow this text box to wrap down to the next line instead of putting all the words on one infinite line?My setting is as follows:Thanks for any
