Howdy!I've had a good trawl through the forums, and haven't had much luck.  Plenty of posts for people looking to use motion paths within advanced actions (took me a while to figure out they were relative and not absolute!) and I'm comfortable in building custom effects and using these in advanced actions.The thing I'm trying to do (and it seems absurd that I can't find anyone else with this problem!) is this:How do you use entrance effects in advanced actions?I have two buttons, each with some text and an image that is revealed when the button is clicked.  So far so good.In addition, when you click button 1 the content that is revealed on button 2 disappears and visa versa.  Still all good.I'm trying to include an entrance effect on the content when the buttons are clicked and it all falls apart... The show command shows the image, THEN applies the entrance effect, swapping the show and apply effect command around means that the show command doesn't start until the effe

I'm not sure if this should be under Captivate or Connect forum, But we're running into a weird issue when trying to export from Captivate to Connect.Every time we try to export, we'll fill in all the correct information, log into connect, and the Home page of connect just says Require FlashPlayer. Nothing else in the popup is click able. I saw someone else was having similar issues, but the issues didn't have a resolve solution. I've tried allowing flash on the site, changing the default browser, but at this point I'm clueless to why I'm not able to publish directly to Connect from Captivate 2017, even tried 2009 to see if it was version issue.Has anyone had a similar issue and found a way to fix this?

Hey everyone!I have a mind map, with approximately 20 options (little squares). I would like to create an interactive file, where I can click on each option (square) and open a slide with a fact sheet for this option. Then, in each fact sheet, I would like to have two buttons: a yes and no. If yes, then I should be redirected to the initial mind map with no alterations. If no, then I am redirected to the initial map, but the map no longer has the square that I clicked in. This means that I would like to hide the figure (which is in another slide) and be redirected to this slide, where the figure no longer is available. The process would restart and continue until all the little squares were evaluated.To do so, I thought that I could do a button with the option to execute a JavaScript. In this script, I would like to have to the options to jump to a certain slide and hide the figure X - and keep it hidden for the rest of my presentation. Working with a group that just got Captivate 9 and don't have the most current version.  When we try to use the Update option from the help menu it is grayed out.  I had instructions on going into the C drive and changing a value from 1 to 0 and reopening Captivate but that isn't working either.  I'm open to more ideas.Thank you,Susan

Hello, I have the problem, that the automatic text caption in the softwaresimulation is in the demo setting activated, but after taking a video no automatic text caption is there. This ist also the case when I used a use defined setting with the checkbox "add text caption".I installed it new but it is not working still. In the first video after the new installation it was okay, but then it disappears again like before. I have the 2019 Version 11.0.0.243. Has anyone the same problem and found a solution for it? Working with a group that wants to start publishing in HTML 5 but has a contract to deliver an online version of their training and a PDF format.  Is there a way to do this?Thank you,Susan Davis

Our HTML5 published course (Either Captivate 9 or 2017)  is not working in our LMS. This occurs whether I used AICC LMS or just local publishing. A work around we are trying is to wrap the Captivate course into Lectora (which works with our LMS HTML5 output). We import the course into Lectora as an HTML Extension. This works well but the page with the HTML Extension (captivate course) doesn't advance to the next page (in Lectora) in which we need to have the user click exit which will then set the course as completed. We need the course marked as completed.     Is there javascript to put in the Captivate course which will tell Lectora page to advance? It used to be something like trivNextPage() when using flash.     I also am trying to post this question on Lectora.- - - - OR - - - - -is there a way to get the cross domain to work and just be able to publish Captivate HTML5 and have it work on our AICC LMS?

Hi, I am new to Captivate and have watched a ton of videos but still need help.  I have created a Responsive Project from a Power Point that contained a great deal of animation. The slides have converted and most animation is there but I'm struggling with controlling when it takes place (are there specific videos on this), and I have a few text boxes on slides that should animate in but are not displaying when previewing.  I can see the text boxes on the slide but they do not appear when playing video. Also, a lot of the bullet items and text that appears is overlapping and popping up in random places.  Where can I find help for this? I am still learning but have wasted an entire day trying to figure this out.  Thanks for you help.

Hello,I have embedded a short video (9 seconds) in to my eLearning. It is a 'Multi-slide synchronized video' that I have loaded from my computer, so it isn't being watched using a streaming service, the actual file is embedded in to the eLearning.The very end of the video continues to get cut off. The video doesn't get cut off when I watch it using my local media player.I have tried:Making the slide longerAdjusting the placement of the video on the slide timelineChanging the name of the fileDeleted and re-uploading the fileI just can't seem to fix it.I've seen this issue around but haven't yet seen a fix. Any advice would be much appreciated.Michelle

I've been having a pretty miserable time with various aspects of synchronisation over the last few weeks and thought I should get something down here for the benefit of future poor souls experiencing similar issues and searching the forum. The problems have been submitted as bug reports but I've heard nothing of any significance back.Background: 64-bit Captivate 2019 running on good-standard i7 PC with loads of memory and decent graphics card.Issue 1: I recorded several lengthy video demos, screen res 1280x720, set to generate smartshapes rather than captions, then later edited some of the text in the smartshapes and added audio to them as voiceover for the demo.  When I publish as mp4 video, the audio is out of synchronisation with its associated smartshape by up to about three seconds. The workaround for this is to publish nothing longer than about seven minutes. As my videos were about twenty minutes, I ended up with three different seven-minute videos that I then joined togeth

Hi All,I Recently installed Captivate 2019 on Windows 10 and have consistently found that when I open a project saved in Captivate 9 and convert it to 2019 file format, the project no longer publishes to HTML5 correctly. The slide backgrounds display in the top left corner, using about two thirds of the player area, while the CC uses the full width (as configured) and other objects (shapes, callouts, text/highlight boxes) all appear to be correctly scaled and located for a full screen view. It seems to be the conversion process that causes this, I just opened a new project, saved it to 2019 format, then immediately previewed it, ...and saw this effect. Any ideas anyone ??

Hi,we have faced some issues with providing our E-Learnings made with Captivate online via the homepage of our enterprise.Currently mac users can download the dmg file containing the .app Project, but when trying to open the file Apple tells us that we don't have any certification. As we don't provide any applications for the app store we don't know how to get the certification needed to provide our E-Learning content to our customers via our homepage.Did anyone face the same problems?We would be happy about a simple solution. Is there any way to do this? We're replicating software where the Tab key is used HEAVILY. We published in SWF until now, but we'll be moving to HTML5. We are using Captivate 9, but will likely move to Captivate 2019 at some point.I tried Lilybiri's solution shown here, but it didn't work:I want the Tab key to work as a "go to next slide" for Captivate 8 Does anyone have any suggestions for this?

Hello,I'm trying to have a button that will remain during an activity of the course to expand and collapse a toolbar reference that will assist the learner in the activity. (kind of functions like a TOC, comes in from the side and when it collapses moves back into the original entrance spot).Anyway to do this?I currently have an advanced conditional script going on so when I click the button to reveal the toolbar references it has the effect "from right to left effect " however when I try to collapse it with the effect "from left to right)" it keeps playing the right to left effect.

I have an interesting issue that just appeared.  The entire Master Slide ensemble is missing or not appearing in my Captivate 2019 edition.  I have the latest update 11.0.1.266.  I recently uninstalled the program hoping to fix the issue but was not successful in that endeavor.  Has anybody else had this issue?Have never had this issue before.  Any ideas or suggestions?I had some other issues recently also, related to Failing to Publish error messages.Message was edited by: Kevin Yeoman

I have a video to which I had to insert additional video time. I was able to do this with Presenter Express. But when I attempt to import the amended video into a single PPT slide I appear to be able to only incorporate the original video and none of the additional video content. Is this the case, or is there a way to import expanded video to a single slide?The video segments that I added were time in an application to provide longer viewing of the content. Generally other than Video 1 which is about 1 minute and 20 seconds, the remainder of the videos are inserted throughout video 1 (when opened with Presenter Express). None is more than 5 to 10 seconds long. All of the videos are MP4.If this isn't possible, I'll likely re-record and just do extra long segments in each step of the application, then cut what time I don't need (it appears that this is do-able).I'm new to Presenter Express and no one at my organization has background with it either.

Is anyone else having issues updating from Captivate 2017 to 2019? With every update Captivate always says that I am up to date and will not proceed. I have to go through the process of downloading the new software as a trial each time. This has been the advice of support too, it seems kind of ridiculous to have to download a trial to get an update. Team members have also been told the same thing from support. Does anyone have insight on this?

I have Captivate 2017 and would like to know if it's possible to extract the original cptx file (for editing) from the zip file I created for publishing?

I was looking over an older Adobe Captivate Help and Tutorials.  There is an example on scripting.  The example is to create a log in screen with user name and password then have the second screen provide a welcome with the user name.  In this example, the value for the UserName variable is User and the value for the Password variable is Password.  Is there a way to set this up if you'd like captivate to look at a list of user names and passwords that were acceptable in those fields?

Hi there,I recently installed Captivate 2019 on my Mac. It installed fine but every time I launch Captivate it plays the introduction video and when I try to close the video the whole app just crashes. I have to force quit.I have removed the app and reinstalled on numerous occasions but it happens each time i reinstall.I have version 11.0.1.266 which I believe is the latest version.Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have project to work on and haven't been able to do so since I installed 2019.Kind regards,Paul
