Questions

I am using Captivate 8 for software simulations and when starting a simulation, I select the option to record an application at a custom size.  After selecting the size, the recording area does not snap the application to the designated size (and sometimes does not even snap to the correct application).  This can sometimes be fixed by changing the application to another one, with the incorrect application listed, but the one I want ends up displayed with the correct size. I am using Windows 10 and have only had this issue after starting to use Windows 10.  Something else that has happened is that the recording screen will always pick up a small amount of the background at the edges of the recording window.Are there any suggestions that may fix this issues while using Captivate 8 in Windows 10?  Thank you.

i'd like to create an answer key that is accessible to learners at the conclusion of the quiz.  the answer key should include:1) the question type (e.g., Multiple Choice, Matching, etc.)2) the answer choices3) indication of the correct answer(s)how can i generate this key/handout from a project that uses randomized questions from question pools?  sample scenario: my question pool contains 100 questions, the quiz contains 25 randomized questions.  the key/handout should show answers for the same 25 randomized questions.thank you in advance for any suggestions.

My plan was to use a click box or smart shape over a button on a graphic.  When the user clicks the correct place then another image appears.  If the user clicks anywhere else on the screen a feedback text box would appear.  I thought I could just select the feedback from the properties panel and edit the text.  So far when I preview the textbox doesn't appear if I click away from the correct place.  The picture appear when the correct place is clicked.  Any suggestions?TIA,Susan

We are using Captivate 9 for this project.On a slide, a particular micro nav icon is hidden until a particular sequence has been viewed. When the viewer clicks a micronav icon, the icon advanced action shown should toggle from the default "Not visible in Output" to Show. In the published .swf file, it performs as expected.When published as an HTML5 output, the Show is ignored but the expression executes as it should.Any ideas on what is causing this?

I have a project with a mixture of interaction slides and video slides. There are 10 video slides containing 1024 x 642  MP4's with audio, none of which are over 4mb. The project is loaded into an LMS but reporting is disabled (not required for this project) however some users are seeing the captivate LOADING message with the 4 boxes appearing before and during some slides. The slide video with audio continue to play in the background, the loading message appears and the MP4 and interface are greyed out (semi-opaque). I have tried with preloading set to 100%, set to 10% and disabled but the loading message still appears. Doesn't seem to happen in Chrome, only IE11. User upload and download speeds are in excess of 30Mbps, ping less than 10msAny suggestions?ThanksGary

Hi GurusI have a very basic problem, which I nonetheless cannot solve myself.  When I create buttons, I would like them to all be the same size, however I cannot see how to determine the dimensions other than by manually adjusting and then checking the result.  Of course when you pass your cursor over a button you see the size (e.g. 70 x 38) but how can I make that button be 39 high instead of 38.  Trying to do it manually is a hit-and-miss affair.Thank youLynton

I have a number of projects that I have been working on with doing a video demonstration. We have a number of different sources for the content... one person does a software simulation in Captivate and supplies me with the raw slides. A completely different person does the voice over scripts. So.... I need to put the two together. Historically, what I have been doing is to adjust the slide transitions and timing in Captivate.... produce an MP4 of the project. Then, add the MP4 and WAV (from the voice over) into Camtasia and produce the final video project from there. I would much rather do the whole project in Captivate. Is this even possible given that the source files for the audio and graphics are coming from two different sources?  Thanks in advance to any directions here. Regards,Dave

Using Adobe Presenter 10 and now unable to use the "preview' function.It appears to work, with creating files, audio conversion, and custom viewer by showing progress on the status bar but when it is about to generate the actual preview (grey screen), it continues to load (green circle load symbol) to no end. Have tried to preview single slide and multiple slides - same effect.Should also note that the Publish function works fine.Any help would be truly appreciated.

I have two files of essentially the same content - one as a Responsive project, and the other is not a responsive project. My content is essentially a video that folks should watch followed by a 10 question quiz. The LMS that we use will only show the quiz score if the content is not displayed as a Responsive project; however, the video doesn't play when it's not a responsive project. The mp4 video only seems to play when the Captivate file is a Responsive project. I hope that makes sense. Any idea on how to correct this?

Hello; I'm building a test with a question pool.  Is there a way to build a remediation review for each question and have it appear when a viewer answers a question incorrectly?I know that I can add an advanced action to the slide, but the questions are too broadly based.  I want to add a remediation to each question in the Question Pool.  I was hoping that I could cause an incorrect answer to jump to a slide or open a box, but cannot find that option in the QP properties.I'm using Captivate 2017.  Thank you very much.

Hi All,I'm trying to record my screen for a software tutorial. When I've finished recording - nothing looks right. Menus that's I've opened open before my mouse hovers over them and the mouse is continually behind as I navigate the screen. I've searched around, but I cannot find a fix for this. Has anybody else experienced this?

( I Already Know the chance to do such thing relying on Adobe is Lower than 1 percent )Adobe Captivate Has a New feature called "Interactive Videos" that you can set overlay slides and bookmarks into it and that is very cool.Now I'm trying to fulfill that feature to my own needs.Let's say I have an Interactive Video, a bookmark in its timeline ( Let's name it bookmark_A )  and seconds after this bookmark I have my Overlay slide bookmark (Just After bookmark_A ).Now it's the scenario: Users Start to watch the interactive video, then they face bookmark_A nothing happens, ok .... seconds later they face overlay slide bookmark. This brings them to overlay slide... after that on Exiting overlay slide, they jump to bookmak_A... but this time overlay slide bookmark doesn't work ... and they can watch all the video...I want to let my users have another look at that last portion of video

Multi-slide synchronized videos over multiple slides are not working as expected on mobile Safari on IPad, keeps starting from beginning of video when advancing slides, not syncing. Works totally fine on desktop though. I'm using Captivate 9. iOS is updated to 12.0.1. Please advise.

Hi, I have recently starting using Captivate 2019 and I am trying to set up some time line animation using some coach images and an audio that the images transition to. When I play it through the timeline play bar it works perfectly however when I play it through project preview it doesn't transition. In fact I also have a forward button that is supposed to appear after the audio and it doesn't either so it looks like animation isn't working in preview mode. Any ideas or am I missing a step here with it being new software.ThanksSteve 

Thread of my discussion on Microsoft PowerPoint forum describing behavior of Master Slides.  This behavior has been pinpointed to the activation of the Adobe Presenter add-in:I am updating PowerPoint themes and Master Slide sets and I have noticed a new behavior that I would like to overcome......  I have updated these themes dozens of times over the past 2 years and I have never seen this happen. I have made the required updates to the slide masters.  The Master in question does not have any placeholders - I have verified this by selecting "Master Layout" and confirming that no boxes are checked.  All three of the layouts associated with this Master DO have a Title placeholder. I then select "Themes" > "Save Current Theme" and suddenly a "Title" placeholder appears on the Master prior to saving.  Clicking on the "Master Layout" dialogue again confirms that the "Title" placeholder has been added to the Master.   There does not appear to be a way to

I am having trouble in captivate 2017 with double audio playing.  It seems the course somehow became corrupt playing double audio on each slide - one slide plays audio from other slides and it's doing this on all the slides.  I have deleted all the audio but there is still audio on a couple of slides and I have no idea how to get rid it.  It is not in the timeline anymore so I don't know where to delete it from.  The audio library was completely cleaned out and the project re-saved before I started adding new audio.  All help with be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I'm working on a Captivate project in breakpoint view, with three different Breakpoints (Desktop, Tablet, Phone) and am only working with multiple choice slides. We load all our questions from GIFT files, and most answers have about two lines each. Therefore we load them into a projekt with very large sizing of the answer font. This sets a  large textbox for the answers so when we load the GIFTS, automatically two lines per answer are displayed after resetting the size of the answer font to small again. We cannot do this changing of Answer fonts with object styles, because captivate will buffer forever. Also we cannot apply a new design/theme with different sizing because of the same problem.1. What can I do to prevent Captivate from crashing/buffering for 15 mins when applying a different theme/changing object styles?The only way to do it faster was to add a secont master slide for multiple choice questions with smaller font for the answers. Hello everyone!I am a bit new with Captivate, and I really need to know how I can make my finish project to open in a new window?I have seen on other softwares that you can set this up, having your first slide as a "laucher" click on it and then continue playing your project on a new tab/window however it's been impossible to be to do it in captivate.I will really apprecciate you help on this since this is causing me a lot of troubles

Hi,I just re-downloaded Captivate 2017.It automatically places a ton of useless files in my Documents folder.CPDeviceCaptureMy Adobe Captivate ProjectsWhen I move them using preferences, they just show up again the next day.It's very frustrating and offensive.When I had Captivate 2017 previously these files were tucked away somewhere as I never use them.Please help.

Hello.  When you rollover the navigation buttons in the Player, you can see the word associated with the button (i.e. Play, Pause, etc.).  I need to change the word that appears from English to French.  Where do I go to make that language change?

I am using Captivate 2019, v11.0.1.266 and "something" I did is making adding slides and replacing images to a project.  I saved the file and closed it.  When I went back into the project, to add more content, I noticed on the File menu that "Save" was highlighted (not greyed out).  All I did was open the project, stayed at slide 1, and attempted to close the project.  The "Do you want to save the changes?" pop-up appears.I checked the Advanced Interactions, and nothing appears out of alignment....On Success is mostly No Action, or Jump to a particular slide.  I do have some "Go to the slide last visited" and "Go to the previous slide".Any thoughts/ideas on how/where to check for the 'slide' that is causing the project to indicate it has been changed?Thank you.Update, 5 November 2018:I had added some Interactions ... We are looking at a replacement for our current "in-house" eLearning authoring tool. I am a huge Captivate fan, and very excited about the new 2019 release, but was curious if anyone had any recent market data that I can share with my team of how Adobe Captivate compares with Articulate Storyline 360, etc. Also, have found some nice comparisons of pros/cons of each but nothing comparing 2019 release...any more current information would be great also.Thank you
