We are experiencing a major problem working with closed captions in Captivate 2017 (10.0.1.285). When I copy chunks of text into cue points, and try to edit the amount of text in each, it won't stay after saving. In some cases, when I try to edit text or delete it, the "Save" button is not active. I have about 150-200 slides across 50 projects that have quite a bit of audio and it's slowing the process down to a crawl.There's no rhyme or reason for this issue and it happens no matter how many cue points I have. Sometimes everything works fine for a few screens and then it doesn't. Yesterday I didn't have the problem until I started captioning my third project.Does anyone have any solutions for this? This is happening on both Mac and Windows versions.

Hi,I'm on Captivate 2017 (10.0.0.228).I have a bunch of videos on Vimeo that I want to embed into my course. I understand that embedding them as web objects wouldn't increase the file size so much but they have jumped from about 10Mb to 900Mb in some cases.I haven't inserted the videos, I've only inserted the embed codes in iFrames.Can anyone explain why this has affected the file size so much?Here's a screenshot of the properties panel when one of the embedded videos is selected:Is it normal that a web object would contribute this much to the file size? And if so, is there a better way of doing it?Thanks!

I have a new requirement in Captivate 2017, where I want the user to be able to generate a printable PDF file of the entire responsive HTML 5 course that he is currently viewing (by clicking on a customized Print Button).i.e A Print button should dynamically pull course content into a readable PDF. Is there any inbuilt tool / functionality through which we can achieve this? I have seen tutorials where we can print a single slide by assigning javascript code to a button in advanced actions. But is there any way to do so for an entire course?

Once Captivate 9 has been installed on a primary machine at work would I be able to install on a Virtual device as well?Also would a Home PC be declared as a virtual device?

Is there a way to sync animations from PPT to Captivate audio? I would usually use presenter for this. Not sure if I am missing something.

I am working in CP 10.0.0.192. I have been tasked to make about 30 graded "Test (Quiz) Projects" ranging from 20 to 50 MCQs in each. Questions/answers will be sent to me in GIFT format for easy import. I am building a shell to use for this and I haven't seen where I can change the project default numbering "A), B), C), ..." for the answers. Is this possible? I know you can edit each individual question to make this change, but I was wondering if it can be done for a whole project? I have been searching this forum and the Adobe help site and have not found anything. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I am trying to figure out the best way to solve an issue we are having with some courses we've created.So many of our courses are in this style, watch a video, answer some questions, watch a video, answer some question, etc.The problem we are running into is being able to navigate away from question slides in order, to say, re-watch the video.So we enable backwards movement on the quiz. This works fine except when you've already answered a question. If you end up back on a question screen already answered you can't progress forward from it. We can enable TOC to do this but that makes it even more confusing because if you end up on a question screen and DO NOT answer the question, the TOC marks it with a checkbox which to people taking the course, looks like you did it already when you didn't. We tried putting the play bar on question slides but that is a bigger disaster because you can navigate forward without actually answering the question.So people end up all over the place and or s

I have a Captivate slide with four text entry boxes, each with an associated variable.  When the slide first loads, the TEBs are blank.  The user must populate them in order to advance to the next slide.  However, if the user returns to this slide, I want the TEBs to be blank again.  I do not want the user's previously typed value to display.I have an advanced action that I call in slide's onEnter event.  I have tried:assign variable variable name with ""assign variable variable name with " "assign variable variable name with spaceI also tried the above using the TEB's label name in place of the variable name and I created an extra variable with no value and tried to assign that to the teb variables to no avail.  Each time I return to the slide, the previous value displays.How can I reset the variable / TEB to a blank value?I'm using version 5.0.3.631

I've seen this issue in quite a few other places and have tried various different things but hoping I can get some help in narrowing down why I'm getting this error. As I understand so far, it is failing due to a corrupt file maybe? Things I've tried: Always launching Captivate in Administrator mode. fails.Clearing cache, fails.Placing project publish location and cache folder locations on c drive. fails.(-other wise i'm normally on a D drive, along with install but this isn't a network drive, and other projects publish fine on d drive)I've created a completely new Video Demo with a new 5 second video and it publishes fine. I've imported 1 cut video part from the project that is failing, pasted it into a new project, attempted to publish but it fails again.I've created a new video demo project with a smaller screen resolution. I'm baffled and exhausted with trying to get Saba and Captivate to play nicely together.I'm using MULTI-SCO packages, to load the TOC on Saba, and not within the Captivate file.And I've tried a lot of different publishing variances. A lot.I'm not sure of a couple of items and if what I'm attempting is even possible. My goal is to have the Table of Content (TOC) live outside of the published file and on Saba with subtitles (from the Captivate document)I have tried this and I've had somewhat success. But where I fail is in the details. I've learned to use SCORM 2004 and Simple Remediation for the subtitles.Problem 1. The 1/2 the content loads, 1/2 content doesn't same publishing output. I can't understand why (I'm using the latest versions of macOS, Safari, Captivate, Saba)Problem 2. The TOC has text that I can't modify and I've looked everywhere. Okay, I'm trying to record video demos with Captivate 9 (9.0.1.320) and for some reason it's setting my system audio (record; mic in) to 13, though I always have it set to 100. Very annoying, as the audio levels are so quiet on playback I can't even hear it with my headphones turned up to 100. I am not using the auto calibrate.What am I missing here?Thank youEdit: I should also add that I have tried Auto-Calibrate as well, but audio is always set to 13. I even turned off the "exclusive modes" in the system microphone settings.

I recently created a WBT using Cp2017. IT switched my computer for a newer one and when I opened my project, the font set was all changed. While I still have access to the old computer, is there a hidden file somewhere I need to bring into my new computer that doesn't save with a project?The project uses Object settings and Master Slides.Please advise.

When importing a multiple choice question with all the answers corrects (through a GIFT file), Captivate converts the MC question to a text entry question. Here's the GIFT MC question:::Question 1::Question 1 text?{ =answer1 =answer2 =answer 3 =answer4}Is that a bug or does a question require at least 1 incorrect answer? The following question is correctly coded in Captivate:::Question 1::Question 1 text?{ ~wrong answer =answer2 =answer 3 =answer4}And again, I am not looking to reword the question with an 'All of the above' or 'None of the above' answer. Hi I am working on a responsive project in Captivate 2017 with slide size of 960 X 720.  When I preview the project, it looks fine on my screen and then when I publish to ScormCloud, it also looks fine on my screen.  However, when my client views the file it does not fit in her screen and she has to scroll to see the buttons on the bottom of the slide.  Has anyone seen this before and if so, do you know how to fix it?  I don't understand why my computer looks fine and hers requires the scroll.  We are both using Chrome as the browser.  The client will not have control over what browser is used to view the project once made public so I need it to function the same on all browsers.  Thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.  I can't replicate the issue, so I am having trouble solving it.Her screen resolution is 1024 X 768.Thank you in advance.Stephanie

My company uses Captivate to create CBTs for upload into our LMS. We have reoccurring issues with Captivate files 'corrupting'. Is there a solution for this or a set of steps we could follow each time to prevent corruption? It's immensely frustrating when you have multiple people trying to create content at different office locations with no way to review or edit someone else's Captivate file without corrupting it. We're also having an issue with a Captivate file publishing an incomplete SCORM bundle (HTML). Any idea on how to fix this? Thanks!

I am reviewing Captivate files created by the same person and one of them allows me to preview "Next 5 slides" and the other course only allows me to preview "Next 1 slides." Why is it different and how can I get it to allow me to preview 5 at a time when needed?

Can Captivate 9 recognize a movie with a alpha channel? I am adding a 3d animated avatar to my course and do not want a block bored around the video i want only the character. i know how to create a video with one but i am not sure if captivate can read it.

I've search all through the forums and online and couldn't find an answer to this question.I created an After Effects project using some video I recorded.  I added a few animated titles to the video and then rendered it out via Media Encoder as an MP4.The video I brought into AE is sized at 960x540.  I made my composition the same size and when I rendered it out, I kept the sizing the same.The finished render has clear video, text and graphics:Once the designers drop the MP4 video into Captivate 9, everything continues to look good (while previewing).  However, as soon as they publish it, we are left with pixelated graphics and text:I'm sure it is a setting issue that we're missing but I've exhausted my knowledge.  Can anyone offer assistance?  If you need any specifics on Captivate settings, I can ask the designers and post upon request.  I do know that we aren't able to uncheck the scalable HTML Content box because of how we're using the files.Any inform

We have a course that the owner doesn't want to change the content on but their quiz is awful and long.  The requirement on the quiz is 90% to pass.  We'd like to add an action to the quiz that once the student has missed too many to achieve 90% they are taken from the quiz and out of the course.  Probably with a slide stating how many they've already missed and to go review the course again.If anyone can point me to a tutorial or give me some ideas on how to accomplish this I'd really appreciate it.Thank you,Susan

Hi, this is potentially a thing I am just not seeing but I have a slide with an AA that let´s you choose one of 3 options.If the user clicks submit without choosing anything a box appears stating the they need to do so.The other 2 states of the same box are for "correct" and "wrong" answer.The problem is that when I go to the same slide again in the same visit the submit box never appears. I guess because it has been answered and the state is retained.Even though I have assigned the both "0" and "v_null" as a trial on Slideentry.What am I missing?Thanks a lot!

Captivate 9.Working on a course project. There is an audio file (mp3) that is causing a problem. I've recorded and published the audio from audacity. All other audios in this project were produced the same way.In summary, the audio is heard only in html if the slide is paused, then played again. The slide is in motion on entering this slide in the course.Here are some of my results:1. F10 SWF preview = works as expected (audio auto=plays)2. F11 html preview = only works when paused, then played again. 3. F12 preview = only works when paused, then played again.4. Published html5, no scorm = only works when paused, then played again. 5. Reproduced the the audio again (mp3), put on a new blank slide = only works when paused, then played again.Anyone ever experience this behavior?
