Hi,I am having trouble installing the update for captivate. I am almost at the last thread of my sanity so here goes.This is my mac: I have the current version. This is the file I have downloaded This is the error message I am receivingI have tried to download the Adobe Application manager but this does not help.Can someone please assist me and let me know how I can install this update? In Captivate 9, I have three icons on a slide i want learners to click on and listen to the icon's audio.  Only after each icon is listened to do I want the navigation buttons on the slide to appear.  Basically I don't want the learner to advance the slide before they've completely listened all the icons.  Any suggestions?[Here is the list of all Adobe forums... https://forums.adobe.com/welcome][Comments is to ask about the operation of the Forum, not a specific program][Moved from the Comments forum to the specific Program forum... The text in my Captivate 8 project (almost every slide, almost every text box or shape with text) is invisible. They are also invisible on publish and preview. The layers are NOT hidden either in the timeline OR in the properties window. When I hover over the invisible text on the stage, the cursor changes to the hand pointer, and if i click on it, it reappears. Clicking and dragging over the area makes some text visible, but not others. I can go through the entire project and click on every single text box, but if I save and close, they are invisible again on re-open. Some of the text boxes are visible in the Filmstrip, and others aren't, even after I've clicked on them all to make them visible. Sometimes when I open the project, text boxes that previously didn't show are now visible, and some that previously were visible are invisible. It seems random on which text is affected upon each open.I have tried the clear preferences .bat, I've tried having a coworker open the file on his ma

I am needing to make each of these open each specific corresponding course. I know that you can either hyperlink or make them buttons and set them to open the courses, but I am needed to add these to an LMS system. I assume that when in the LMS they will try to open as a Captivate course, but no one has Captivate except me. I thought about having them open PDF versions, but there are videos in some of these, which won't play in a PDF. I also thought about adding them all into one course (which would be simple) but it would be super tedious because the look of all the slides will change and I will have to spend a ton of time changing them. Do they have to be attached to a specific type of file in order to work in LMS, or is there an easy work-around for this?

Just installed on a brand new computer running an I7 processor and plenty of memory.  Install showed no issues.  Click the icon and the initial load screen displays and then nothing.  Tried rebooting to ensure all changes were installed, still same thing.  Load screen disappears and nothing.  Not even tricking itself as I checked Task Manager and it doesn't show it as running. It just won't launch!

Hello,I have an issue.I need to establish exchange/communication between two SCORM courses made in Captivate.An example:When a user types a word "holiday" in the course A, the wiord holiday sholud appear on a certain screen/page in course B.Is ist possible to write a javascript code taking information typed in the course A, storing it in a XML file (or similar) and allowing to retrieve this information by course B? I am running Moodle LMS, so I have an access to the server etc.

Has anyone tried to get an extension on their 30 day free trial? I can't find anywhere to send an email to request this. I did try in chat but to no avail. I downloaded the trial at my new job, as we are weeks away from purchasing an e-learning development program, but I ran out of time to finish creating a lesson to show the decision makers. I've used CP for 4 years so I'd really like them to purchase it, but they want to see what it can do.If there is an admin on here, is there some way this could be possible? It would make all the difference to the decision makers if I can show them the features of the program in action.Thank you,Tanya

I am finding that if i update a project from Captivate 9 to Captivate 2017 and try and print the slides with slide notes, the dont print or or seem to upgrade. They are still in slide notes in the project but the print doesnt have them appearing. Anyone know of a work around for this bug? I have to update a bunch of projects to HTML5 and i need to send out the storyboards.

Hi--Is there any documentation about the data that's captured when using the Internal Server reporting option? I see the XML files on my server, but it would be *tremendously* helpful if I knew what the node or fields are being sent so I can plan to capture it with a custom PHP script.Also, is this capture method capable of taking users back to the points where they left an e-learning? Maybe knowing how the data is formatted will help me answer this, but if anyone can give me a little nudge I will be very appreciative.Thank you very much!

I've built a custom menu with drop-downs. Each button along the top opens up a drop-down below it. I have built this on the first page and selected show for rest of project. it is also grouped as one object. The tab order is set how I want it to appear in the course. The tab order works correctly on the first page, but on subsequent pages things get strange. Sometimes it doesn't even tab to the Resources button at all. On other pages it goes out of order. Does anybody have any experience with this? I'm finding it very buggy and time consuming to make a 508-compliant course using Captivate. I'm using Captivate 2017 and publishing to html5 only.This is the menu fully in the Captivate program - normally the user would only see one of the sub-menus at a time.This is an example of the advanced actions of the menu buttons. Resources button is supposed to be tabbed to after the conclusion sub-menu buttons as shown here:

Hello again,Captivate 9, updated. CPTX file, adding mp4 as an event video to an individual slide.I'm confused about the skin on an event video. On the stage, after selecting "haloSkin1", the video on the stage displays play, pause and stop button. This is a perfect scenario for me, since we want to avoid learners scrubbing through the video. I also experienced users reporting that scrubbing to the end forced them to wait until the length of the video to expire before the slide auto advances. So when I found this skin with no slide bar, it seemed like a winner.Anyways, on the stage, I see a skin that seems to fit my needs.However, when I preview the html5, I do not get the skin that was on the stage. I get additional buttons and an unwanted video slider to scrub the video (no need for audio controls either). I only want play and pause (stop I can also deal with). The skin's playbar also only appears when moused over and appears as an overlay.My questions:Do we have control over what but

I have a Text Entry box where users type in their name. I set it so that that variable is called "FullName."Then, at the end of the course, I have a Completion page that says roughly: "Thanks, $$FullName$$."When I publish and run my course on our server (not an LMS though), the variable is inconsistent--sometimes it shows up at the end, sometimes it doesn't. Most consistently, it seems it takes two tries for it to show up, meaning: I type the name, click Enter, get to last slide and see nothing, then I rewind back, click Enter again, and then on the last slide I see it.I've triple-checked my work and I'm pretty sure I have all of the right settings. Why might this be happening and is there a fix?Thanks!Inna

I've just installed the Technical Communications Suite 2017 that includes Captivate 2017 x32 & x64. Ran normally, no issues.I downloaded the NeoSpeech x64 package and installed it using administrator privileges. Ran normally, no issues.I only see the 2 default windows system voices, the additional Neospeech voices don't appear in the list.I completely removed everything and re-installed making sure to use administrator privileges when I re-installed. No change.Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have been using Captivate 2017 and successfully published 5 lessons but one lesson is not zipping correctly. When I publish to my computer and ensure zipped is selected, I check the zipped file and it is zipping to at least three times the size. The original Captivate project is 19,512 KB and when zipped is 64,707 KB.Additionally, the zip folder is not packaging all the Captivate files but retaining the individual files. When zipped, it usually shows a folderbut it is showing all individual files: Does anyone have an answer to these two problems? I need to publish that last course.

I have  a number of small SVG lines (1 KB) that I need to repeat on multiple slides. Each is either a simple curve or a couple of straight segments joined by a curve. Some slides may have a dozen or so lines.  These SVG files were saved from Illustrator with the recommended CSS Presentation Attributes setting.The problem is these lines draw very slowly when authoring in Captivate, sometimes taking several seconds to appear and in general bog down the ability to edit slides.  More problematic is there is a noticeable lag in their appearance on slides when playing the published output in a browser.  It takes a couple of seconds for them to load.Is there a fix for this problem?  My ultimate solution would be to replace them with PNGs but there are about 100 slides with up to a dozen lines on each and it would be very time consuming.  Of course it would be easier if it were possible to simply replace the SVG sources in the Library with PNG files but Captivate

Using Captivate 9 and I have a knowledge check question (ungraded, but mandatory to complete). There is an A B C option. The client wants the correct answer (A in this case) to display a caption with an explanation for why it was correct. He likewise wants the same thing for Incorrect Answer B with it's corresponding explanation and the same thing for Incorrect Answer C with it's corresponding explanation.  Is there a way to do this without branching?Jason

Hi,I'm developing some training where I'd like users to enter some comments, maybe give them up to 100 characters, and then allow them to review there comments against a sample. I would like to use a text entry box to capture the user's text, store it in a variable, and then display it on the next page. The trouble is that when the variable displays in a text box on the next page, the text is truncated.I am aware of the menu for variables where you can specify a length, but whenever I do this, the value I select is not implemented.Any help?Nate

I am importing a Powerpoint presentation into Captivate 8. There are highlighted text that is not coming through to captivate, how do I highlight text in captivate 8? Do I use highlight box?Also, I have an attestation that needs to be read and accepted or rejected, I would need them to accept the attestation, if they do push reject, I need them to review the PP again. There is no rejection and move forward they need to accept it. Do I put as a "button" and how do I direct them back to the powerpoint once they reject the attestation?Thank you

I started a new project in Captivate 2017 and wanted to edit the play-bar. But I saw that the Layout and Position options of the Play-bar are grayed out. It is locked atPosition : BottomLayout : StretchedHence I cannot move my play-bar around. I tried choosing all the default skins in Captivate 2017, but still these two options are grayed out. How do I make them editable?

I'm having issues with Captions in developement. When I save and close a project and then return to it later, there are several captions that are not showing up. I have to physically click on all of the captions to get them to appear. Otherwise, when I preview or publish, they are not on the screen. Is this a bug? See below:

I remember trying is once a few years ago and didn't get that far. We are looking for a new e-learning software and I'd like to get CP because I know it, but my team being able to review my work is very important.Thanks,Tanya
