Hello - I have Captivate 2017, and I have found a new icon that I don't recognize.  It is a small light blue square with small lines and an arrow pointing to the top right hand corner.  It shows up only in Preview, and when clicked it makes the text on screen come up on a different background.  I understand it to be some sort of way for the text to be larger and/or more contrast, however I would like to remove it for my project.  How can I remove this action?Thank you

We're enjoying the flexibility of Captivate for creating interactive Math lessons, but we'd love to see more shape options to make creating Smart Shapes easier than copying and pasting from competing software and using workarounds. Could you start with a rhombus/diamond creator? 

Using Captivate 10(2017) , publishing Scorm 1.2 output via .zip file.My Captivate course has exercises that require users to enter data in a field and click the [Tab] key to move to another input field in the exercise.In preview mode, this works fine. However when the course is published and launched via a browser (Chrome in my case), when I click the [Tab] key, control moves out of the Captivate course/exercise to the browser.In reading old posts for publishing via .swf, "Seemless tabbing" seems to be the answer. But the option to turn this on appears to only be available when publishing to .swf.Is there some way, when publishing a Captivate course for Scorm 1.2 in .zip format to utilize the [Tab] key in my exercises and prevent the [Tab] key from moving out to the browser?

This may be a stretch, but I was curious if there was a way to change a slide state after a certain amount of time.

TL; DR: Responsive sizing causes a project caption for each item which makes translating painfully time consuming.I have a Captivate 2017 file from a vendor that I’m localizing into another language for my audience. The presentation itself is 60 slides, which turned into 394 pages of project captions because every single text box shows up 5 times- once at each size. I tried figuring out a way to export just one size to help my interpreter get each file once, but was unsuccessful.Now that I have the content from her, I’m literally coping “with target formatting” into every line.Has anyone figured out a faster way to do this? It’s enough to make me not want to use responsive sizes. Your help is appreciated! All of my projects are in multiple languages.

Hi there,I would like to adjust the position of the custom preloader that I specify in Preferences / Start and End.I checked in the CPM.js and there is a line referring to the preloader. Here is what I can see in the file. No way to adjust the position of the preloader?It is always close to the bottom border of the screen and I would like to have it in the middle.Thanks in advanceB

Good morning, everyone-I'm working on an unguided simulation assessment. In this assessment, I have a highlight box and click box over the correct answer, but I only want the highlight box to show after 2 attempts. I have written a script that isn't working (attached) and I'm hoping that someone can tell me how to fix any mistakes. Let me define some of the items first:Hint_1: highlight boxv_attempt: variable set at 0 initiallyAdditionally, the slide is currently set to infinite attempts, but I also tried the same with 3 attempts with no success.If possible, I would also like to have more than 2 attempts be marked as incorrect. This would mean, when the highlight box appears the user is also wrong.Any help you be appreciated!

I created a training course, and until today it has worked fine. I am needing to publish a PDF of it; however, the first slide will not show up. It won't show up when I "preview from this slide" either. It does show if I view it in the web browser. Anyone know how to get it to show?

My team has run into another issue when publishing to Device (APP). Captivate goes through all of the steps and we receive a message that Publishing completed successfully," but when we go to build.phonegap/apps to download the APK file we receive the following error message. I've tried modifying the phonegapConfig.xml file to use PhoneGap version 6.0.0, but then Captivate errors out and won't publish. Anyone have a fix? We have an urgent need to publish several training APKs on Monday (7/31/17) in order to meet client deliverables.

Whenever I try to preview a project in either a browser of HTML5, it only opens up Notepad and displays the following error:  "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."  This is a new installation of Captivate 8 and the machine is running windows 8.1

Hi can anyone please let me know how can i show percentage of course viewed in moodle with scrome uploaded file. my concern is i have 50 slides in my scrom file if user clicks 20 or 25 slides then it has to show 50% course is completed for user. and if he agian logged in for same course it has to show from 25 slide i mean resume the course in scrom for moodle.

I accidentally clicked "Do not ask me this again" on a checkbox when pasting text and now Captivate pastes only formatted text instead of the unformatted text I wanted (and previously had.) I can't find anywhere to turn this preference off. Any ideas?

I need to the students name to appear on the completion  page using the cpQuizInfoStudentName variable. I have inserted the variable and specified the length. Does anyone know how to get it to display in the First Name, Last Name order?

We just started using text to speech, we seem to prefer Julie as our voice.Some common terms we are having difficulty getting Julie to pronounce, correctly. Like HIPAA.  Who has had this issue and resolved it?BTW, 835 is a common term that Julie pronounces "eight-hundred and thirty five." Which would be correct english; however anyone working in database that relates to healthcare, HR, HIPPA will be familiar; we needed to adjust that to be "eight 35."Can anyone help us with pronunciation of HIPAA?

Hi,I have published my project (a total of 4 slides), but when I look at the files:First, I am unsure which file has the project.Second, neither the MP4 nor the HTM show the full project.Third, when I previewed the project I saw all slides.I published as a HTML/SWF and as video.I saw this, clicked on it and nothing happened.I'm short on time, but in a quandary on why this isn't working.Thanks in Advance!

I am using Captivate 2017, and am fairly new to creation of on demand eLearning.What I would like to do is hide the smart shape, "next slide" button until After the user “click anywhere on the slide or ‘y’ to continue” from the feedback (correct or incorrect).Not real familiar with variables, advanced actions, or states.

I have just updated my Captivate 9 to the latest version (9.0.1.320) and was quite excited to see one of our main issues mentioned in the release notes (web objects always going to top layer).Having now tested this latest version, I still find that no matter what, web objects appear at the top when published and nothing can be placed above them (smartshapes, images). The only thing you can place over a web object, is another web object.I guess I'll have to keep waiting for this to be fixed.Anyone else managed to overcome this issue?Issues fixed in this patchGeneralWeb objects do not maintain Z-order and are always on top in HTML5.Release notes for Adobe Captivate 9.0.1

Hi everyone,I have just been asked to take a very old course of 35-40 SCORM lessons that run in our DOCEBO LMS and update them. The problem is that no one has the original scripts or cptx files for these SCORM lessons. I really want to avoid having to transcribe the audio into a Word doc. There are numerous audio to text conversion apps, but most want you to upload a file, which I don't.I'm looking for an app that would "listen in the background" as I launch a lesson from the LMS, and as the lessons plays, it would perform the transcription.  Does anyone know of such an app?Thanks,Steve

Hi I need to create a very simple game called 'Builder or Breaker'The idea of the game is a statement will pop up on screen and the viewer has to hit either a 'builder' button or a 'breaker' button....I imagine there will be around 10 slides with a different statement on each...Once the learners has worked through all the slides I would like their results to be automatically collated on a summary screen - my question is how do I do this??Thank you so much in advance 🙂Kim

I've created a module that I'm loading to the Canvas LMS using SCORM. The module uses advanced interactions that rely on the cpQuizinfoAttempts variable.When a user goes through the module in a single session, everything works as expected. If the user closes the module midway through completing it and then launches it again, the cpQuizinfoAttempts variable resets to 0. However, if I go to the quiz results screen, the attempts total that is shown there ({total-attempts}) is accurate even if the user logs in and out of the module.Is there anyway that I can access the attempts displayed by {total-attempts} for my advanced actions?Is a bug causing the two values to not match?Adobe Captivate 2017 on PC (10.0.0.192)

Hi Team,i have a slide in Captivate 8.0.3.290 with a table widget from the "out of the box" widgets. It seems to pause the slide about .1 second into that slide. I've confirmed that there is no audio present in the library, and here is a snapshot of my timeline. I tried to set the duration of the slide from "rest of slide" to the actual duration of the slide based on some troubleshooting I read online, but nothing is working for me. Also, I'm using the preview project feature if this makes a difference (not in browser as that functionality broke in my captivate recently).

The specific issue is the TOC icon which has been placed in an early slide and timed for the rest of the project. My problem is I don't want the TOC icon to show in the quiz component.My immediate answers would be (1) to have the icon placed individually on all learning slides or (2) some advance action scripts - which is not my strength. Am I missing other options here?This is an active project and am currently using CP9. I tried looking this up but nothing comes close and I am wondering if anyone has come across this scenario.

There are many parts of Captivate that i can "peel-off" and undock.Does anyone know a way to undock Speech Management and edit the script while listening/previewing the audio that has already been generated? This would save me a ton of time. I realized probably have to dock again and generate the audio, but just a way to listen and edit simultaneously would be so valuable (it takes so long to wait for that speech management window to open, scroll thru and then for me to find slide "X" out of 101).Time is money ... and I am wasting a lot trying to edit my speech management.
