HelloIt seems that I have an already identified problem concerning the disappearance of text in slides when I open a project. It reappears when I click on it. Surprinsigly they sometime are visible on the filmstrip window . If I don't click individually on them, there are also missing on the published project.I searched for answers about that problem but none of the already opened questions I found on the forum were resolved.Do you have any idea?Thank by AdvanceCorinne

I have created a course that is a system demo. It is a scenario based course and I want to create a user variable of a realistic ship date by adding 21 days to the system date (and maintain a correct date format).  Is there a way to do this by creating a user variable and advanced actions? I don't know java script and am relatively new to Captivate.

Does Captivate require Flash to use as an authoring tool?   It is listed as a system requirement.  When will it be retired from the desktop application?

Hi there,I created a short video with Snagit and recorded an audio with Audacity. Both have been imported to Captivate 2017. The problem is when it play the audio start right away and the video start only when you press the button play. So how can I make the audio start in the same time as the video?Thanks for your help!

Hi.I need help in publishing an Adobe Captivate 9 Project for work.It's an interactive training module and there are parts of the training that require the user to press Tab to continue to the next slide/part.However some of the Tab interactions are not working.I have done the following with my project settings:-  I have unchecked the Seamless Tabbing option when publishing, and I've checked the HTML file that 'SeamlessTabbing' is 'false'-  In Publishing Settings I have selected 'Restrict keyboard tabbing to slide items only' and I've unchecked 'Enable accessibility'Despite this, any actions are require you to press Tab do not work and you will end up Tabbing out of the project and into the browser's address bar.Any advice on how I can get this to work would be much appreciated.Thanks.Dave

Hi,I just started using Captivate a bit ago and I ran into some issues trying to record an application window.  It looks as though the recording frame (the red box) is not accurate to the output that I get after I hit the "END" key.  I've tried full screen recording, application window recording, and application region recording and in every case the window that I wanted to record has been completely inside of the recording frame guides (the red box).  However, in every case the output that I get cuts my application window in half (i.e. some how I'm not recording my application window, despite it being completely encased within the recording frame guides).Does anybody have an idea of what the issue may be here?  I believe it is a bug, but I am still new to the software so maybe I am missing something.Thank you in advance for your help.

I have a course that I designed in Captivate 8.  I have since upgrade to 9 and then 2017.  The YouTube widget is not playing properly.I removed the old widget and inserted the new one which came with 2017.I am published in SWF/html5.I also downloaded a version of the widget referenced in a June 30, 2017 blog post within this community.This is not a responsive course, if that makes a difference.Any suggestions?

I've been working with Captivate for several months, and I've had continued issues with Captivate improperly displaying videos that I try to embed as web objects. Specifically, Captivate seems to always be altering my videos in undesirable ways. I worked around this in the past by having videos start at a smaller size and encouraging users to utilize YouTube's full screen feature. For new courses that I'm building out, though, I want to have the videos fill most or all of the screen. Naturally, I want the videos to appear in my courses the same way they do when they're rendered.To try and troubleshoot this issue, I've been sizing a video (embedded as a web object) at the same dimensions it was rendered (1280 x 720). The same issues appear with different dimensions, though, even while making sure that the aspect ratio remains accurate. Wonder if anyone has any advice. My clients users are primarily using IE 11 and lower and for some reason when they view this simple responsive quiz course we created, the text looks very small in IE - but looks great in Chrome. Is there something I can change to make the text look better in IE?IEChrome

We are using Captivate 8 on a Window's computer. We want the person who fills out the text entry box for their name and email to receive and email after they have completed the Captivate presentation.  Does Captivate 8 allow me to have it send an email once the presentation is completed?Thanks

I am in captivate 8, I created a picture and title test to drag and drop the correct name to picture.When I take the quiz, and I get the wrong answer for drag and drop, it doesn't show me the correct answer. if users want to view the quiz and incorrect answers, the drag and drop function is not working. I am creating a course that allows learners to type in their name which will appear on future slides. I am running into a problem with the Submit button advanced action script to advance the learner to the next slide.I have the variables v_name and v_null created (with no value in the value field).I created a conditional advanced action to trigger a “Try Again” warning (named Text Caption) if no name is entered, and advance to the next slide if a name IS entered. However, I can’t get it to work the way I need to. Right now it just triggers the “Try Again” warning and doesn’t seem to recognize the TEB has a name entered to trigger the Else action.The action goes as follows:If all conditions are true: v_name is equal to v_nullThen: Show Text CaptionExpression cpcmndGoToFrame= cpinfoCurrentFrame -1Else: Go to next slideI have tried altering the advanced action to hide the Text Caption on the Else command, but it didn’t work. I created an exit button for a course to be uploaded on SumTotal's LMS. I'm publishing the course as HTML5/SWF. I've tried everything from using the default exit on click, the window close JavaScript and SCORM_CallLMSFinish(); and the exit button won't respond to it.Any clue on what to do?

I am testing 30days trail of Cp2017 with Update1 so we can upgrade from older version for our corporation. I have converted a Cp9 lesson to html5 format and seems like next buttons are not appearing or delayed on iPads. Also some of the drag and drop functions are not working. I am using Captivate 8. I have 105 slides. When I create one Multiple Choice Quiz question that is a Survey ,Captivate 8 will freeze when I either Preview it or even publish it. The next button will not allow me to go to the next slide.However, when I create a Multiple Choice Question question that is Graded Captivate does work as a published file and Previews correctly. When I have the two together it works fine. When I remove the graded question and only have it as a survey question the problem starts again, nothing happens as a published file or works in preview mode.Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this issue?

Hello,I keep seeing this over and over whenever I try to preview a project in CP10 (2017). I have to restart CP to get it to go away. I clear the project cache and it still happens...Anyone know whats going on with this? 

I recorded a Captivate 4 demo and then realized that I need to move some of the Mouse and Typing objects from one slide to another slide. I can cut-and-paste captions, but I can’t figure out how to do the same with Mouse and Typing objects. Any suggestions?If that's not possible, is it possible to merge two slides into one slide?

I've directed recorded audio in my project. It's on the Options tab of properties. I've also tried embedding it in an object in a slide. I can see it and play it back in the timeline, and everywhere else. But when I preview the project, I hear nothing. Any ideas?

HiI am new to Captivate and have used videos (mainly by Paul Wilson) and blogs to create an elearning module. I have inserted a Pretest quiz as a knowledge check using Captivate 6 (the only version available to me at work currently). I give an exercise and the 4 questions to test knowledge. I would like to do this once more in the module and then have some graded knowledge questions for a quiz at the end.My issue is that if I answer the final question incorrectly, it comes up with "Try Again" but when the correct answer is selected, nothing happens when I click "Submit". If I answer correctly the first time it allows me to move on to the next slide OK. I suspect it is to do with my Pretest actions - I have set them to Jump to the next slide regardless of what happens. The If and Else actions are the same and there is only 4 questions with 25 points each.  I suspect it is my Advanced actions that are the issue but not sure how to fix it.These are the buttons I have displayed (there

My client requires the learner to download a PDF. I am using Prime so I can add the PDF as a resource. Unfortunately this requires the learner to exit the course to get the PDF.Is there any way using the "web Object" that I can trigger the download?

Hi thereI am doing some tests with the SCORM 2004 Commit and Terminate API calls. I am setting manually a score with the console and also use a JS script in Captivate.I see that in the console I can change the raw and scaled score, change the completed and passed status and then execute Commit and Terminate.This saves both the score and the completion status.In Captivate I put a code on the last slide OnEnter that changes the score and completion status + Commit line.I leave out purposely the Terminate line because I have a button with the action "Exit" attached to it. I thought the Exit button would execute the Terminate line by design. The answer is No.If I attach a JS with Terminate line to the same button, the score and status are sent.So my question is - why wouldn't the Exit action send a Terminate command?On another note, I am trying to set the maximum score with a line setting cmi.score.max. The line is OnEnter and it works, I can check the max score is set to 100 as I want. Ho
