I am unable to use Character Animator's Puppet Maker anymore, as I recieve the following error code every time I try to run the program Internal error code: (1619875827:1451+22) Temp file could not be written. I have tried setting different files paths, but I'm not having any luck. Please help.
Hi there, I am new to Character Animator. When I try to open the Puppet Maker tool I receive the following error: 'Internal error code: (961804122:272+32) Found scenePPath() doesn't match expected ppath'. I tried installing and re-installing and downgraded to different versions to see if the issue would persist. It did. Could it be Dropbox Plus? As all of my files are backed up there. I did unsync the documents folder, where all Adobe Characted Animator files are saved automatically. If you think it is Dropbox, is there something else you think I should unsync in order for Puppet Maker to work? I cannot think of any other reason for this. If anyone knows or has opinions, I would appreciate your help 🙂 Many Thanks,Delia
I'm mystified by a problem wherby my puppet won't open his eyes in the beginning of the timeline but eventually keeps them open. I keep deleting things from the timeline in different places to try to figure out what's causing the eyes to close in the beginning and open at about 1 minute and 7 seconds. I've uploaded the entire scene to https://www.mediafire.com/folder/gulzatkzndis2/thePerformer+3. It's gigantic. The idea of it is that I stop the timeline when I speak my part. I appreciate the help I always get on this forum.
Hi. just wanted to check and I have searched but perhaps havent used the right terms... so... When building up the swap sets is it possible to have sets below and above a visible object that isnt in the swap set? My case is that I have arms in sets animating actions and some are behind the arm of a chair and others in front. The chair arm is a layer between those that need to be in front and those behind (see image of heirachy). What is happening is the sets in front change coordinates to somewhere off their position and and hid behind elements that are lower in the stack. Many Thanks alan
Hello, I would appreciate your help, I need an API for Character Animator, I realized that this software does not have an API, basically I need it to link it to the PY code of a project I am doing, I need the character in the picture I am uploading to be able to move his lips and move according to the text, I would appreciate it if you could help Let me figure out how I can get an API that can help with that
I would like to use a Elgato Stream Deck as a MIDI device to control Character Animator when the program is out of focus. Stream Deck has a plug-in called "MIDI" that emulates a midi keyboard. However when I press the Stream Deck's key the Character Animator does not detect it. Has anyone else got this to work?
What size are the built in backgrounds and is there any way to add more of them?
I wanted to change the color of puppet's shirt (making it a pattern rather than. a solid color). When I was in rig mode, I double clicked on PS to edit and this is what happened. please see pics
Haven't seen quite this question in the forum: I'm rigging a puppet. I have a (working) swap set for swapping happy mouth visimes with sad mouth visimes. I am NOT using live audio; I'm using prerecorded audio files. I can Create Take from Scene Audio with one mouth, but I cannot swap between. Nor can I generate multiple takes to delete the visemes I don't want. Is there a way to achieve this? Am I asking Character Animator to do something it's not really made to do? Would I be better off using a different application? Thanks in advance.
I was just playing around for fun - I decided to try and see what a comic book would look like from a previous video I made. That is, use Character Animator to pose the characters and backgrounds etc, but then export single frames (as PNG files). I then used Adobe InDesign to crop and frame the pictures. I just used rectangles, but you can use any shape it looks like. Text bubbles were a bit painful, so I kept it simple to start with (rectangles - no little triangles pointing at the character doing the talking). The thought bubbles I copied and pasted from Microsoft PowerPoint.
I don't understand this yellow line that surrounds the puppet. Why does it look like this and how do I make it more reflective of the shape of the puppet. Please see the enclosed file
I get done with all the rigging of a puppet and put him in one of your existing backgrounds. I add a few different camera shots and use some different hand movements and then the hand movements stop working and i go back to the rig set up and the rigging is all in the wrong position. Why is this happening? Plus I'm still having trouble with live key frames and camera setups vs triggerable camera setups. I can't seem to get the live shots to work.
I have a boy who i want to show holding a rabbit the wrong way. The legs of the rabbit will be moving back and forth. But I an't seem to get the boy to be able to wrap his arms around the rabbit. the rabbit is a secondary puppet because his legs need to move. Can I make that part of the animation in FRESCO??? I've spent all day on this. please help.
I need my character to drink milk from the glass, so I am wondering if that is even possible in character animator, and if not - what are the alternatives?
I've redone the Limb IK several times. Still can't figure out what's going on ... see video below.
You continue to recommend users learn from existing puppets. Is it possible to copy replays from (for example, TULL) and place those replays into my own puppet file??? if so how?(this would be a REALLY GOOD IDEA)
Hi folks, I have a character that I've animated and would like to overlay into a video I created. However, I've followed the instructions on various forums and it's only exporting the audio rather than the image. I tried removing the audio and exporting without sound, but it's still not working. I've tried exporting as MP4 and as dynamic link with the same results both times. Does anybody have any suggestions please? I'm using the 2024 versions of both apps on Windows desktop.

Hi I am trying to outuput my puppet of Character Animator to OBS using NDI.(Using NDI or not does not matter, that's not the one making the problem)I assigned my puppet to shake his hand when I push the X button. I want my puppet to move his hand whenever I press the "X" button regard of any application.I press the X button to make my puppet to shake his hand on desktop or on chrome but nope it doesn't work,my puppet does not shake his hand. He uniquely shakes his hand when I press the "X" button on Character Animator's window... So what I want to say is that Adobe Character Animator only detects the trigger key pressed on Adobe Character Animator's window. It does not detect the key pressed outside of Adobe Character Animator's window. Anyone having a good solution, or any Tips ? Regard of my stupidity If there is no solution or if this function is not implemented yet I want Adobe to implement "Detect Key outside of Adobe Character Animator" features on future updates.
I've never seen the green overlap of shapes when using character animator. Is there a preference that I've missed? Please explain. Also I've kept my illustrator files and photoshop files in the correct hierarchy but when I move to character animator i have files within files of the same name. How to i clea up this problem???
I have an eye blink set up using cycle layers. See screenshot on how i have that set up (i wrote overtop the screenshot outlining the cycle layer settings for the layers that have a cycle applied to them). The eye gaze works on the "Eye L Open" layer, but when the cycle layers triggers the "Group" layer (which does the cycle to quickly close and then open the eye), the eye gaze doesn't work when that part of the cycle is being triggered. So basically i can only eye gaze half the time - whenever the "Eye L Open" layer is the one that is being activated, not when the "group" layer is activated, even though there is also a 'pupil' tag in that group layer. Anyone have a fix or workaround for this?
