I've been editing my almost perfect automatic lip sync. The most common problem is any "P" between a vowl and an "S" like "Keeps". Easy fix. Delete one frame between the "E" and the "S" and the neutral closed mouth looks exactly like a "P". PerfectHowever, in another instance, the computer mistook my "F" for an "S". It's an easy mistake that I expect a non-English speaking human would make, but how do I add an F? Do I need to look for another F and copy/paste it? Should I record and F over the top? What's the intended workflow here?
I HAVE TRIED TO SET AND WATCH THE KEYBOARD TRIGGERS VIDEO. BUT I DO NOT SEE THE BLINK ANIMATION FROM SETTING UP THE DIFFERENT LAYERS OF BLINKS.
Hello, I am Korean user.I want to drag the mouse with the keyboard or move the puppet (← ↑ ↓ →).But I do not know. I know the movement using a transform. I want to know other usage.I tried search to how to use it.But my English skills are not enough to search. T.TPlease give an easy explanation.
I've never gotten them to work ever before, so it's entirely possible that this one is my fault, but I've followed the instructions here Prepare artwork in Adobe Character Animator as closely as possible. (It has a typo, by the way. "Front" should read "Frontal".) I couldn't find anyone else with the same problem, so it being my fault is very likely. How can I get this working? (The problem is both head positions show at the same time instead of cycling between them)Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online.
There are two logical places, and I need it to match the way the program is built.Logical places:1. Looking at the same distant object that the front view is looking at.2. Looking directly ahead in the direction I am facing.Which is it?Thanks in advance.(PS, if the answer is "1", you may wish to adjust the tag icons, because they make it look like the answer is "2")
Hi,is it or will it ever be possible to add a behavior already in Photoshop? If I test something out and then change the structure of my character, behaviors often disappear. I then have to add all the behaviors again to see how my final character works with the changes that I did, and that's a lot of work. If I could add the behaviors in Photoshop already, I think there would be no or less problems, but I couldn't find a place on the internet that says behaviors in Photoshop exist.Chris
can anyone let me know how this is done? it doesn't appear to be in the help file. i see you can import audio into the project bin, but beyond that i'm a little lost.
The Character Animator team is on winter break and will return in January 2017, so forum responses & help might be held up until then. From all of us to you - happy holidays!
Hello! We are having the Character Animator Licensing issue under an enterprise account. So, we don't have an Adobe Id to sign in and out of as suggested in another post. Even when I sign in with my "personal" one under the Enterprise computer (i also subscribe to the monthly CC suite for my home business so I thought I'd try) it doesn't work. Any ideas? We are a large company and none of our IT pros have the answers so they wanted me to ask you directly. We get the error upon launch of character animator that there's no After Effects license when there is. Please give any help that you can - I have six pending commercial spots to do that I need to use this for. Thanks!Holly Siders
When I copied the tutorials that had R leg or L Hand(in Illustrator, Mac OS X) the puppet came in with parts tagged to the mouth.took a while to figure that out. Should be Right Leg or L Hand. The instructions warn about changing layers and layer namesbut they don't warn about if you change layers in Character Animator and then go back to Illustrator, when you go back into Character Animator again layers go back to how they were before. It's crucial where the + signs are on the Illustrator file. (I copied the tutorial closely but not close enough.)I find it confusing that you need to staple the arms but not the feet or hands. Can you be clearer in instructions about that?Especially since hands and feet can change out for other parts.Or if I decide to staple the neck, then I have to redo all the layers below it.Why not have tags for legs and arms, hands and feet?I finally realized that if I have the hand folders embedded correctly under the arms, then the hands work work automatically. I have character with a lot of arm movement, and have problems getting the elbow joint to twist the correct way when using blend in the timeline. I can get the joint to twist both ways using the Dragger, which is great. However, when I merge two takes using the blend function, the twist direction of the second take changes according to the twist direction of the first take (even though when I recorded the second take, I twisted it the right way).In video 1 you see the two takes (0:20-0:27), with the joint (on his left arm) twisting one way in the first take, and the other way in the second take (correctly). In video 2, I've merged the two takes using blend, and as you can see, in the second take the joint now twists the wrong way (0:20-0:30). I tested this a little bit, and it seems that when using blend, the last take will inherit the twist direction of the first take. Why is this? Any advice on how to avoid it?I could do the whole sequence in one take, but it's kind of hard to change
Hello,I've just finished processing 10 minutes of audio and the lip sync feels... off.Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online. I don't want to sound ungrateful. If I had to lipsync 10 minutes worth of audio and had to do it in real time, my results would be much worse.Though how do I polish this? Yes, I know I should do a manual pass, but is there anything I can do before that? Is there any filters I can run the audio through to give the computer a better read? Should I re-record with a webcam, so that the computer will have more lip information? Is there a big update coming out in a couple of weeks I should wait for, before re-processing?I hope I've exported this correctly. Please forgive me if it's missing an important file. I've never exported a character project before. Also, as an aside, I welcome comments on the actual content and script of my audio if the moderators don't mind a few side comments about politics or employment as an animator.
is there a way to have cycle layers pause on a frame (let's say, hand goes up), stay that way as long as key is pressed, and then reverse when key is released (hand drops down)?Alternatively, can a layer be triggered by a key release? That could also accomplish what I'm looking for. This may be ridiculously simple, but I've been playing with all sorts of permutations of the cycle layers and trigger settings and can't get the result i'm looking for.Thank you!
Hello,I posted a similar topic earlier, and the problem was solved, for a bit.Everything was working fine, and then stopped. It might be the eyelashes that's causing the problem, but I really don't know. The pupils aren't staying inside the pupil range objects. They were before, but they're not now. I'm sure I've done something stupid, but I don't know what. Did I mess up the structure again?(You'll need to turn the guide layer off when opening for the first time.) is there a way to edit a puppet i d/l in illustrator? (also my cmd e doesn't seem to work even if i don't really know how to use Photoshop)
Is there a way to define a set of poses (created using draggable elements) , and then use keyboard triggers to call them up?I could just use static poses , but ideally I'd like the puppet to warp from pose to pose. I could also use layer cycles, but dealing with all the permutations of going from any one pose to any other would get messy.Any existing solutions or crazy new ideas will be appreciated.
Sorry if this is not the correct location for Character Animator questions, or if discussing Beta products is strictly forbidden. Not sure how it works here.Anyway, my puppet has one eye that's half constructed and one eye that's mostly constructed. The half constructed eye can animate to the mouse, but not to the camera. The fully constructed eye can animate to the camera, but not the mouse.Could anyone please explain why they don't both animate to both? I can upload my work in progress if required.
The program was working fine for about a week and now it does not pick up my face. Instead, I get this...Yes, all other apps that use the camera are off, everything is updated as well. I am using a Lenovo ideapad 310 Intel(R) HD Graphics 520.
Just sharing a piece I just finished using Character Animator with a clay puppet.I particularly like what I was able to do with the hands turning. I did it manually with keyboard triggers, but my next step is to figure out if I can automate it with motion triggers. If there's a separate thread for sharing work, I apologize. I couldn't find one.
Hello, I am having an issue dragging the hands of my character. This same character was able to work properly in an animation I recently did. I exported the puppet to a new document and now he just multiplies, no longer able to have his arms dragged around. Is this an issue with the latest update? Or is it me?

HelloI have put draggers on both my characters pupils, but instead of moving the eye, they stay still and the artwork is dragged (see below image)What could I be doing wrong>?
Hi.I'm new to Character Animator. I tried to make a scene for a video. This is what I did and I didn't understand what happened.1. I did record the first scene with the puppet i createdI wanted.2. I did want to add something else to my puppet, so I did add what i wanted in Illustrator. 3. I did save the changes in Illustrator, and then I did another scene with the new changes of my puppet. Here is what It happened. the new scene and the old scene changed with the changes of the puppet. How can I change something in my character for a new scene without affecting the old scenes that I already recorded and saved.
I'm having a little bit of botherI have two characters on the time line and two audio files, one for each character. However, both of the characters keep lip syncing to both audio files. How can I make each puppet lip sync to the separate audio files?
Hi There!I noticed while watching the Documentary about how the Simpsons used CH to animate the live section with Homer, how Dan Castellaneta read something called a Toothsome Meme to train CH and help the software recognize his voice. Is that a step that the users should do? If so, how should we proceed exactly?
