Hello, I'm new to CA, and having trouble implementing a Walk Cycle. The Head and Neck get stretched. I have been exporting to MP4 from Character Animator for weeks.Today, I go through the same steps I always have, and this window never changes:When it claims it is done exporting, the thumbnail looks like this:When I double-click it, it is a black, one-second video.I haven't changed any settings in Character Animator since yesterday.Any idea what has happened?Thanks!
HelloI'm going to start making a 15 min long youtube video. I have a script to do a explanatory video with a puppet in Character Animator. But the character will only be one element in a finished video that must be created in Premiere and After Effects (several clips etc. will be shown as the puppet explains different things). I have no experience with Premiere and After effects so I have to hire someone on Fiverr to edit and finalize the video. My question is; in what order should this happen? Because in practice there are two different productions that have to be merged and fit together, but they have to be produced by both me and the video editor who completes the video, at different times. Do you have any experience and suggestions for me?

Hello, Does anyone have an idea as to why the mouse control in the Eye Gaze behaviuor might not be working, when all the other options for control the eyes work on the same charcter? Thanks!
If animating by hand and draggables, seems like an obvious thing to import a video to match your animation. I can't find a way to do this, which seems odd.
Hi all. New to Character Animator, but not to Adobe Flash/Animate. I have a cast of characters with perfectly round heads and simplistic features. My first attempt to control my perfectly round head puppet seemed to recognize the shape of my face. My puppet file is a PSD. Thanks!
Can someone please confirm if this is a bug or the product has changed. I am rigging a character for the first time and have followed exact steps as guided by the @oksamurai in the the youtube video.UsingCharacter Animator Version 23.1Device : Macbook Pro with M1macOS : Ventura 13.2.1Tested with both Apple silicon and intel version. The arms are not connecting to the origin automatically. Please validate if this is a bug or something has changed since this video was made.
Hi everyone,When creating my character in Ai and adding gradients for example on the hair, when. I import the file to Ch for some reason the gradient doesn't show up. Is this normal? Thanks!
I just watched the great beginner tutorial linked below and was able to get my Illustrator character into the blank template. Very exciting. I added the IK feature to help with the arm bending. Question I have, is it possible that when the elbow flips that the hand also auto-flips? Seems like this would be very helpful. Haven't actually animated anything yet, just the camera tracking thing, but if my arm moves up and makes the character arm move/bend up the hand should flip. hey, i am new to adobe animator and randomly when I was editing my puppet from adobe illturster this message came up and now I am unable to auto-sync artwork or even see my puppet.
just wondering....so, i downloaded the puppet 'dudley' and have edited him in illustrator to make him more what i want. It;s saved to a new location, and so, when i load him into character animator he no longer has any movements or triggers. I guess they are saved to the downloaded file? how do i get his movements and triggers over to the new dudley? any help welcome, thanks!
I want to know how to create a mouth and eye set that has no body or head. I want to place it on a stop motion animation video. I tried making layers of my puppet invisible: it worked a bit but the head kept reappearing randomly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I want to create puppets from scratch, but I can't seem to overcome the jaw issue. When the jaw moves, the body moves with it.When I use the premade Blank puppet, there is no such issue. I've compared Blank with my puppet, and I can't see a different. It must be something simple I've overlooked, but I can't find it. Since I'm making animal puppets, it's kind of tedious just m modifying Blank. And then, my animals are still called blank.
Hey guys,I'm working on a project with my team, and we're using Character Animator. In this project, I'm responsible for creating the puppet and ensuring that all the triggers are ready for animation. However, when the animator opens the project to work on my rigging, some defects appear that didn't exist before. For example, triggers that don't work.I would like to know if there is a reason for this to happen, or if there are any tips for exporting properly to work in a team?

I need help understanding the difference between "Leader & Follower" vs "Magnet" behavior. Because I can imagine either one being used if I want to have a game enemy follow my character automatically. Scenario - if I have a character move by movement of my mouse dragging on the screen, can the 'enemy' or a secondary independent shape move automatically and follow my character around, using either the "leader & follower" or "magnet"? Thanks in advance for any clarification.
Hi, I downloaded the IntroToRigging files from the Beginner Tutorials but the motion library is not working on all chracters. The motion library is not working at the 03_sidesample although I aded the motion library to the same layer at the rig mode with the body and the limb ik. It does work on the 15_body tracking. Thak you. (i have the latest version 2023 22.5 )

I’m still pretty new to Character Animator and I’m working on my first puppet. All the tutorials and example puppets I’ve looked at teach how to switch between only two or three hands. Evidently I went mad with power because I ended up with over 100. Am I supposed to keybind every hand? Am I going to have to work out a flow chart to keep it all straight? This is a disaster. I’d prefer to put as much of that kind of long-term burden on Character Animator as possible. Like if this were After Effects, I’d use Opacity keyframes to swap between hand gestures and then have Time-Remapping on each gesture so I could cycle through to the specific hand I want, no flow chart required. But your Character Animator ways are strange and scary, and I’m out of my depth. Please save me from this flow chart.

I keep having this glitch regardless if I am using one of my own characters or an okay samurai puppet. I have my puppet rigged, I put the puppet in a scene and everything is great. At some point, (I htink when I update the Illustrator or Photoshop file), I go back to the scene and the properties panels no longer lets me activate or deactivate properties from recording and none of the attributes are keyable. I attatched a photo. The one without the red dots is the one I am refering to. If I delete that scene and put my character in a new scene I have the red dots again. This is ok if I don't have animation in a scene, but horrible in shots where I do have animation and I want to continue adjusting things. Does anyone know a fix?
I'm creating a series of short videos. Each episode is its own prjoect but for some reason the newest project saves over the previous project. I need to use the same assets and puppet for each episode. How can I create new videos without it somehow linking to the old one?
Hello!Right now my company is working on producing shorts using Ch, but we're facing horrendous render times. The segments are generally no more than a couple of minutes each, but each render is taking multiple hours. While that isn't back breaking, it is inconvient, as our turnaround is weekly, and we need to look at passes. I feel like other adobe programs such as Animate, or even programs like Toon Boom Harmony don't face these sort of export times, so it could very well be cause by something like the heavy rig were using, or large BGs, or something along those lines. If anyone has faced similar export times I'd be interested to know if you've found out what's causing this. The second part of my question is if anyone would have hardware upgrade suggestions. My boss feels like upgrading the CPU would yeild better results but I'm not tech savvy so I can't say. I don't have access to the specs that we're using for our PC, but plan on posting a screen shot of those come tomor
I'm finding this problem posted and fixed a few years ago, but nothing recent and all those instances involved Win 10. I'm running a Mac Mini 11.6.1I have tried all the solutions I can find on here. Have uninstalled and reinstalled:- Character Animator- All the NewTek apps that come in the package- Premier- After Effects Nothing I do can populate options the devices pane.What am I missing??Thanks in adance,Alan
