good day, my camera turns off when I want to act while standing, why is it working only in conversation
Character Animator works with virtual webcams and NDI input/outputs, but it doesn't work with Logitech Capture. Logitech Capture is free, lightweight, simple, bloatware free and just easy to use. If Character Animator could recognize it as a camera source that would be fantastic. If anyone knows a way to make this happen even better.
I have a puppet with different head views. The eyelids on one of the eyes behave oddly in any of the side views (puppet attached). The layer structure is as follows: Here's a screen shot of the bevaiour:The tags seem to be applied correctly to the layers
I am having an issue in Motion Library, where my Left Arm is swinging perfectly, but my Right Arm is swinging inverted. I can't figure out why?
When I import a Character Animator Scene into After Effects, there is a significant color/luminance shift. Everything is much darker and contrasty. Now I can fix this with a Lumetri effect by raising the contrast but I want to get to the bottom of this. I exported the same scene from Charatcer Animator and dropped it into After Effects. No color shift. I imported the PSD File from the puppet. No color shift. Now when I change the color space in After Effects to something like Rec 709, then the EXPORT (H264) changes color and matches with the Dynamic Link Scene (so they both have the same awful color shift now) BUT the PSD File stays the same (correct color display). Now if I export a PNG from Character Animator there is no color shift. Please hlep me understand what is going on here. Or maybe there already exists a tutorial on After Effects and color spaces?
did a change and want to do smething now, but get this error? what can I do? help
Hi everyone, I'm having problems getting the Hair Back my character to dangle. There are a few sublayers — none of which seems to be different, meaning if you disable the top Hair Back and disable the bottom Hair layers, it disables the same thing. I have applied the dangles to the top layer and moved the origin to her forehead. I'm also confused because each sublayer has another orgin. Regardless which orgin I move, it doesn't light up green. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 🙂 - David

Hi there Adobe CommunityI have seen the demo video of this Beta version of CH and subsequently downloaded it, and was looking forwarded to getting my puppet to do some funky dance moves (ha ha) using my Son's Band.I should say that I am new to CH, I have searched for an answer to this question on the web and on the forums but failed to find and answer.Would one of you clever people kindly point me in the right direction?ThanksNewby
Hello community, I made my puppet walk but I still have a few problems. I hope you can help! On every layer: The hips are making weird things while walking. They are kind of moving up and down. 2. On every layer: The line of the pants is misplaced while walking. Maybe it's the layers structure in Illustrator and the pants and legs need to be arranged differently? 3. On layer „Trikot“: The number 8 is moving up and down. 4. On layer „Weihnachten“: The elements on the shirt are distorted. Here is the link for downloading my project/puppet: https://we.tl/t-xpQ8en4y8T Thanks in advance! 🙂
I'm wondering if CA is versatile enough for me to make a short animation (for a wedding proposal)... Dave/Okay Samurai in his videos sometimes talks about importing puppets to AE and animating backgrounds and everything else in there. Will the manipulation tools in CA restrict what i will be able to do? There will be several scenes, some with trippy effects like warping into a portal or something. If CA isn't good enough what would you recommend out of AE of AA?
HiI'm rigging up 2 puppets but am having trouble with an area around the waist distorting up and down at a point when they walk. One of them also distorts at the feet when walking and i'm not sure why because it's rigged up exactly the same as the other puppet which looks fine. I've tried adding horizontal stick tool lines which does help but doesn't fix the issue. I've just uploaded the 1 puppet that has both of the issues, if anyone could take a look i'd really appreciate it 🙂 SM Puppet Google Drive Link
So what I'm trying to do is create a puppet in Character Animator whose limbs move as if they're attached by those paper fastener pins (below)As far as I am aware, I can't use Arm IK because that always adds an elbow, which I don't want. What I'm kind of after is this effect shown in the two images below (if you know what the source material is then I'm very sorry);(Sorry for the bad quality, I really had to go digging.) As you can see, the above character's lower arms pivot around the elbow point, and the upper arms pivot around the shoulder point, if that makes sense. I literally don't know if this is possible in Character Animator either, although i did manage to find something close around the 6:30 mark of the 'Adobe Character Animator: 40 Secrets' video, in which he used transform behavious on segmented arm layers to create a similar effect:As great as this is, it seems that it isn't possible to have the lower arm layer over the top of the uper arm, as the lower arm cannot co
Hello, I'm trying to stream on various platforms, but when I open another browser to view the feed, it's low resolution. - My internet speed is very fast (did a speed check)- I use OBS and have the appropriate settings in place (or so I think)- I have an Nvidia card, and use the hardware encoder (NVENC) I can't find the bottleneck. And I don't think this would be due to my webcam?? Since I'm using it soley for motion capture. Any help will be appreciated.
Hi I'm having issues with my character's walk cycle. I have the puppet rigged with the proper views (front, left, and right) but I'm getting a weird issue with the character bending down more when he starts walking to the left. When he faces the right the issue is gone- could this be an issue with handles or the actual walk cycle behavior, and all three views are scaled correctly also. Here are some screen shots of the puppet walking, the rig and the walk cycle parameters. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated
I just noticed this secret in one of Dave's videos and I am trying to get it to work, but it won't lay the trigger down. It would be a huge help to be able to go back into replays, make changes, and overwrite existing ones. How can I get this to work? https://youtu.be/sv--jURQOGc?t=104
I tried to modify a character template and I think it was a bad idea. I am so confused. I'm just trying to get the arms to move right and for the character not to bob all over the screen like a ghost. If anyone is feeling like a generous Good Samaritan, my sanity would appreciate you taking a look at this mess and letting me know why it's tangled up worse than a briar patch of despair.https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-A4Muso4NEzyW7V4KVu6zdytb3AH8L_P?usp=sharing
Hi everyone, I've noticed that my lip sync only works if the audio input is enabled. If I open my mouth without saying a sound, I can see the markers tracking my face/mouth, but nothing corresponds on the character's mouth. However, when I close my eyes or tilt my head, the character does. I'm just not getting any lip movement. Has anyone encountered this problem? Thank you!
I have a character with both head and body turns. With the following structure:And the following behaviours: The limb IK behaviour does not work properly. The feet slide around. Any suggestions on how to rig and apply behaviours?

Hi, I'm having an issue with a puppet I created using Puppet Maker within CH. As you can see from the attached video, the walk behavior is looking odd. I've checked my tags and everything seems correct. The weird thing is that the walk behavior is appearing like this within Puppet Maker's creation window. I went back to the Puppet Maker screen to check and saw that the walk behavior was wrong there as well. So any Doppel puppet I create seems to have this issue. Is this a case where I need to trash settings/preferences? I appreciate any help you can offer!
I am counting to 100 and would like to insert numbers in my scene as I count one at a time. Can anyone help me find the easiest way to do this? Is there an easier way to do this than adding a trigger to each number. I would like each number to move independent.
I've done one chunk of animation and want to do another chunk later in the timeline, do I have to hit record and just wait until the first bit of recorded animation has played? I have Work Area Enabled. Thanks
1. I created a project.2. I imported a puppet, drug it into the scene.3. I created a WAV file, and imported it.4. I copied/pasted the transcript for the WAV file into its properties.5. I can see the puppet track and the WAV file track in the timeline.6. I selected the WAV file in the Timeline, selected the puppet in the Project window.7. I selected Timeline > Compute Lip Synch Take from Audio and Transcript.8. Character Animator created a Visemes track.9. When I select the Visemes track in the Timeline, it automatically also selects the puppet track.10. I play the scene, and the puppet's mouth does not move. How do I connect the Visemes track to the puppet?
Is there a way to take text and have it animate your character *and* generate a voice at the same time? It seems like there are ways to do both but I haven't seen an option which allows you to do both at the same time. I'd like to use it for live animation, so it would need to be automatically and without any manual operations. Thanks!
