I finished my puppet in illustrator and it's in the origin of the worksheet but when I export it to Character Animator it is not in the origin, and I can't move it to the centre. What can I do? 

Hi,I'm currently working on a rigged character with dangling hair. At first it worked great but now something strange happens and I can't find out what the problem can be. When I add dangle to the hair and I move the head in Record mode, the hair moves but jitters. I've tried to make the head independent but then it still jitters. I've followed multiple tutorials but still I cannot fix it on this character. Does anyone know how to fix this or what I did wrong?Changing the physics in any way does not stop the jitter.Thank you for your time!

I am working on a puppet and have managed to get the default set of eyes to work and am trying to add another set of eyes to be able to convey more emotion. I am using top and bottom eyelids instead of a blink state. The new eyes that I am working on are supposed to convey anger so I have the bottom lids slanted a bit. When put into character animator I get no response from the eyelids as well as the pupils. I am hoping somebody could enlighten me to whatever mistake I am making. Attached I have put an image of the eyes I am trying to make work as well as the layers.

HelloIt's a rigging problem for the Puppet.I'm hoping 'Mouth' will move after triggering it.But the problem is that 'Mouth' is not moving.I'm attaching the screen I'm working on, so please refer to it.Please help me to solve this problem

Hello 🙂Through Adobe Character AnimatorWe have created a Puppet.But as you can see in the red box part of the attached pictureIt says that 'behavior' in the 'mouth' group is not currently in use.Please let me know how I can solve this problem.

Export a animation in Character Animator with transparent background: I have struggled with this for months without a solution. I have seen tutorials and tried so many ways, but no matter what I do, I can't export a transparent background. (I use a mac)This (which I found on this site) doesn't work for me:To export a scene to a video format with alpha channel, select the scene, then choose File > Export > Video with Alpha via Adobe Media Encoder. The scene is added to the Adobe Media Encoder queue, and set to use QuickTime format with the GoPro CineForm RGB 12-bit with alpha preset.Anyone who can help me?

Hi CH Animators.If I add Auto Blink to character, can I also use cycle layers for that eye? If so, how do I make it slow down and show blink cycle? I have tried to set cycle layer to immediately or triggered, and still doesn't work. I also tried adjusting in 'Auto blink' properties setting duration to 720 seconds. - still didn't work to show cycle layer artwork. Thanks,Tania O

久しぶりの投稿になります。 (1)最近、Premiere Proを使っていて、気になったことがるのですが、キャラクターアニメーターはタイムコードに直接入力できませんよね?(2)録画の画面やストリームの画面では、カメラをON/OFFできますが、リグの画面で、ON/OFFはできませんよね? (3)キャラクターアニメーターの本が欲しかったのですが、ありません知っていたら、教えていただけませんか？日本語があればいいんですが？ (4)なぜかはわからないのですが、イラレデータはずれていないのに、キャラクターアニメーターの画面になると、リグの画面で体の位置がバラバラになっているのですが、原因がわかりません。最初からそうなっているではないのですが、イラレのデータを触った後、保存し、キャラクターアニメーターに戻ってくるとなっています。どのタイミングで、なるかはわかりません。対処法などを教えて頂けると助かります。 質問は以上４つの質問になります。 念のため、日本語コミュニティの方にも投稿させて頂きました。(4)は日本語コミュニティには投稿していません。 長くなって申し訳ありません。答えて頂けると、助かります。  

I have a draggable bee puppet with arms. I made his arms go wide and closer to his body with Dragger behaviour and turned them into 2 replays. I want the "arms close to body" replay to start when i drag him up (to look more aerodynamic), and "arms wide open" when i drag him down (for the feeling of landing). Since Motion Triggers behaviour only work with layers, I couldn't find a solution for the smooth transition and easing out. (Turning it into cell animation and Cycling Layers isn't working well, especially for the other Replays he does with his arms)  Is it possible to trigger replays by anything else? I think the only solution I have is to Transform him move in Y position and make new replays with it, but I'm not sure if I will be happy with his position in the scene everytime this happens. Thank you!Samet

Hi. I've added a swap set to arms to make puppet wave. I kept original arms for every other move so I have 'left arm' plus 'left wave' as a separate group. Limb ik works but not for swap set 'left wave' group. Do I have to make swap set arms on a duplicate puppet or can I get limb ik to work on both 'left arm' and 'left wave' group on the same puppet ? Hope that makes sense. Thank you

I know this is a commonly requested feature, but boy oh boy would I love to see it. If we could import animations and assets from Animate straight into Character Animator that would be incredible. Is this a feature on the docket? I know you can animate in PS, but it doesn't feel quite as streamlined for the animation process as Adobe Animate. Also, if we could incorporate tweens, that would be legendary. Alternatively, if we could just export Adobe Animate files straight to Illustrator while maintaining layers (and finding some kind of solution for timeline animations, maybe distribute to layers and put in folders). However, this feature might be exclusively used for the purposes of integration to Character Animator. Direct compatibility would probably be an easier solution. - Daniel

I've made a part of my puppet shareable, and i don't want it shareable. Seems there's no way to do this? But that makes no sense, it would be really stupid if a program doesn't have the option to undo something as simple as make something previously shareable no longer shareable.

Is it possible to save my Scene Camera in the same way I can save puppets? For my cartoon I have a variety of scenes that I may use for a video, and each of those uses a specific camera that I've set up. I'd like to be able to save the Scene Camera along with my puppets, and just import them as-needed for each project. Currently, the only way I've found to do anything like this is to make a template project that has all of my puppets and scenes set up with their respective cameras. However, I'm often updating my puppets (which means I'd have to update my template each time, which is time-consuming), and each video may only use 2-3 of the scenes I have. Making a project with all of the unneeded scenes every time means I'm adding in a bunch of unnecessary files, which isn't ideal. If I could just save the Scene Camera and import it in the same way I do for my puppets/backgrounds it would streamline the workflow considerably. Out of curiosity, why build in robust controls l

Is it not possible to copy takes (audio and puppet) from one scene and paste them into another?I find I can copy the individual inputs from a puppet and paste them into another existing puppet in another scene, but it's quite counter-intuitive to try copying the puppet track and pasting into a different scene and getting the unhelpful "Select the target track or take in the timeline" message, when the whole point is that you don't have a target track or take yet - I just want to use what I'm copying from another scene!Worse is that you seemingly can't copy or paste audio takes at all! The only way is to right-click the track, reveal in the project, then manually drag that take down onto the timeline of the desired scene. If you've got half a dozen takes, that quickly becomes tedious trying to position them all in the same way, and even worse if you did any splitting/trimming.It's NUTS that you can't perform one of the most basic actions in what seems to me would be a ver

After a 1 week break from CH, I went to open my project that I've been working on all year and my .proj file will not open.I get the message 'Internal code error: Project too old to open this version of the app'. My previous files from Time Machine have the same error.When I try opening my backup files I manually created on my disc, they simply act like they open like a ghost file. No error but no files showing. This happens on all of my back ups. I even created a new project from a few puppets I saved but the project doesn't save at all even though it looks like it did. This project will reopen in CH until I try opening my original project, and then its gone and nowhere to find the file.The only thing weird that happened this week is that my Mac forced me to update on restart and it didn't look like a normal update. The computer had a loud long beeping sound and the update screen went enlarged. I am now on OS 10.13.6I have tried opening in both the original 1.5v and 2.0vHas anyone hav

Hi, this is so strange but i exported a character out on adobe character animator (create your puppet), its on a black background. I put it on my timeline on premiere pro with my desired background. the animator character puppet is there but on the black background. i have used all the troubleshooting techniques, mask, ultra key, crop, etc but the black still stays. ive tried the tolerance, shadow, etc. any ideas?

I am making a cartoon for a 1st grade class based on a book they read.  Each student drew their character and recorded their lines.  They also drew backgrounds.  I am fairly inexperienced in both Character Animator Pro 2025 and After Effects which I haven't used in many years. I am wondering which application I should use for the main timelines. I can see how I could do it incharacter animator but I have a few characters that will not animate in a traditional fashion. For example there is a stapler which will move a giant mouth (being the base) up and down. Can someone give me a workflow of how I can use character animator to do the major characters and also do other animations such as the stapler? Also, I am trying to use some of the premade characters to steal their eyes and mouth.   When I bring them into Photoshop I can see all of the hierarchy of body parts. Yesterday 9 Jan 2020 - I downloaded Character Animator for the first time. I have an older system (that cannot be upgraded any further) so downloaded the latest available version. This worked fine until I tried to import a commercial model and got the message saying it couldn't be imported, so I tried another, same messgae.Looking for a solution here, someone suggested reistalling the app. So I deinstalled it and when I went to the app downloader but now there is only the option for the current version (which is incompatible with my system).So something has happened in the last 24 hours that's suddenly made the app inopperable? Is there a way of getting an older version?

Hello,I recently tried to record some walking animations and for whatever reason it isn't recording.  I have the puppet selected in the timeline and the behavior is armed, but as soon as I hit record, the puppet freezes. I thought there must have been an error with my puppet and upload an example puppet, Evan, and it still isn't recording. Also on a side note when I hit the play button, the playhead does not move. Is there a bug with my program? Please advise.

Hi Everyone, I am trying to add expressions in my lemon puppet in CA. My workflow is:Import puppetImport .wave file for audioCompute lipsyncCompute head movmentThen add expressions during a record (and subsequent records).  Edit expressions in timeline I like to use icons in the control/perform panel, during record and then edit those in the timeline with the dropdown menu.  See attached screenshots.  I admit I might not even be using the right terms for this kind of thing so the right terms would help.  I'm having someone make me new expressions but they don't show up in that dropdown that activates when I click on an expression in the timeline so I can't change to the new available expressions.  I might need to connect these myself since there is a communications gap so any help would be much appreciated.   Links to tutorials, the right terms to use to help me communicate to the person making these expressions/behaviors/whatever they'

I am currently creating my first character puppet, and I'm trying to figure out some physics for its hair. It is current separated into two layers (one with the part infront of the head and one behind) but cant seem to figure out how to connect the two. Is it possible to have multiple anchor points on one layer or object

So I created this octopus puppet and I wanted it to spurt out ink when triggered by a key. It consists of 10 layers so I added the cycle layers in Character Animator but when I trigger it the head disappears. What can be done to avoid this? I want both the puppet and the ink to be seen.
