Downloads not showing up in Digital Editions 4.0

I just downloaded a book from the library and it is not showing up in Digital Editions 4.0. It keeps wanting me to download Digital Editions over and over again.) I have done so several times. The download is there...Digital Editions is there, but the download never shows up. I have used 3.0 forever (even tried that) and just used 4.0 last week successfully. I am no dummy...but very frustrated. Any help appreciated.  BTW - I am on a PC with Windows 7, currently using Chrome. (it all worked last week)

Oh yes, I have told ADE to accept ascm files & has done so successfully. I don't see anyone else having this problem of them wanting me to download ADE over & over, when it should just pick it up and be done with it.
