How do I import my Kobo library ebooks into Digital Editions?

I have a few ebooks in my Kobo library, and I'd like to include them in my Digital Editions library; but it seems that Kobo doesn't let me download the books as files, only include them in its own software or the ebook reader (a Kobo device, in my case).

Is there a solution to this?
