Hi,in the welcoming video (when launching Dimension) a tutor shows You can export a model from Dimension to .PSD file and then open it in Photoshop. Also, she says You can then change the colors of Your model with no need to get back to Dimension. All that sound great but... is there any tutorial showing how to do it?Dimension's .PSD has Render layer and three additional layers - material selection mask, object selection mask and depth selection mask. I was more than sure when You open the rendered .PSD layer You will be easly able to use the model as a 3D model. Also, I was more than sure I can then send it to After Effects and animate it there. If not, what's the purpose of creating such app?Regards,Paul
I installed Dimension CC and after i work a little , it just stop working . It dosent froze, looks like I can press buttons and click but when I do, nothing happens , I can close the program oly with task manager. So far my renders for this image have gotten up ~33 hours and then dimension quits working; there are no errors but apple's activity monitor show the CPU is back to about 93% idle and the render clock keeps ticking... but no progress. I am looking to export the images as large as possible to the raise the dpi in Photoshop so I am exporting on High at 1125x2500 and the image has lots of translucent material and complex reflections so I'm not expecting speedy results, but I do want results. Do I need a more powerful computer (tech specs below)? -- Sorry, I did not save samples of the process when rendering stopped, but I am currently rendering another of the same image (low @ ~700x1000) and it looks poised to fail. LMK if ya need more deets, thank you kindly!!!!This is where rendering halted; This is a snap of the image I am tying to create; Tech Specs:New render; low @ 700x1000Current render time...
Hello there, I'm having issues importing .obj files into Adobe Dimensions. Some work, some not, and the only things I could find thatthe ones that don't work have in common is larger file size, above 20MB. Thank you for your help!
Is there an option to add few lighting spots? I trying to render brand character, he is wearing hat (hat is floating), and i can't reduce dark place under hat image below. Light from ground could helps me, but how to do it in dimension CC?
HelloWhen I render my packaging, I get the front perfect but the right side and the top side look bad. When I change the camera view to see the right side in front, the picture is perfect. What can I do to get every side good in this camera view?I hope you can see it in the picture.
Hi everyone,I'm trying to mockup packshots in Dimensions. I had some testruns and it comes out OK.Now however, i have another button on the can and the green colour changes pretty badly. As you can see in the first image, that is more correct. It's been a while since the first testrun and i'm not sure if i changed the colour settings to RGB/CMYK. Could this be the case? The file in the decal:I've tried adjusting the lighting but that made no difference!I've also read that the next update could include an export setting (for 300DPI). Is there an ETA for this?Kind regards,Olivier
Hello!I've been trying to 3D-model two tombstones in sketchup and then bring them into Adobe Dimensions CC, most of the textures look fine but some geometry is altered when imported. I've attached some screenshots, and I'm just wondering if there is a solution for this: Is Dimension more picky than other apps? I know that it's still quite new, should I just wait for it to become more stable and move onto something else? (just fyi: these are not real tombstones, just examples)Take this tombstone for example, it has a distinct heart-shape on the top. When imported into adobe photoshop, Autodesk Maya or Unity the geometry is fine. Why is that? This next one I expected some issues with, since its so complex: almost half is obscured, but the things that are visible look really good up close!Do you have any advice for me? I'm quite familiar with dimension but this is the first time I've imported my own 3D .obj !Have a nice day!/Kalle
How do you create a fillable form?
I followed a tutorial on youtube on how to create a simple bottle and then place a decal on it yet when I make my 22 ounce beer bottle and place any type of decal on it the graphic just stretches. It seems as though at the half way point of the bottle it hits a wall and goes all over the place. I extruded into 3d using photoshop as the tutorial instructed so I'm not sure what it is. Using a stock bottle from dimensions, a pill bottle or something, the graphic wraps cleanly around the bottle. Is there a better way to create this 3d bottle? I looked at adobe stock and there isn't a bottle that matches what I need. I have looked around the internet and one bottle costs almost $50 so I want to create this myself. The bottle itself looks great in dimensions until I place a label on it.thanks,Chris
Ive been looking around for quite some time on how to create those 3d renders of your UX./UI templates however I just cant seem to find anything on it. I installed dimension because I thaught it could finally do the job, however I dont know how to do it or even if Dimension is the right way / software to do it. What I want to do is just create 3d representations of my designs however I have no idea how to or even what software to use. Attached is an example of what I am trying to go for i.e. my UI placed within a phone/ tablet/ PC case ? Thanks.
I am trying to render an image at a very high resolution so that I can lay a vector graphic on top of it later. I have two issues. First, Dimension doesn't seem to be able to render straight lines (there is a 3-4 pixel jitter), to make up for this I tried to increase the canvas size to 10,000 x 20,000 (this is a 20" x 40" image), but the program seems to ignore that size and renders at the resolution set prior to the change (1024 x 724). Any Advice?
So im making a special box and for some reason the decal I put on it looks fine. But when it gets like halfway around a edge it wigs out and stretches, pinches etc. My model has really clean Geo and Unwrap because I have been having the problem. It has gotten much better but its still not fixed and I dont really know what do do beyond this. I have multiple pieces with similar shapes that art doing the same thing. But this is where things start getting wonky
Hi,Adding one decal on the first side of a coin works pretty easy. But when I try to add a second decal for the second side of the coin, it seems to replace the first previously created one. What are the steps required to keep the artwork integrity?Merci G
Hi thereI have just installed Dimension today and it's moved on nicely since Project Felix! But....I don't see the Recent items feature in my interface nor do I see any PACKS.. (collection of asset types).Any ideas why?
Win 10 minimum OS? Got to be kidding. Every other Suite app except XD CC shows compatibility and hard core progs like Blender, AutoCad, and PS in 3D mode have no probs with Win 7. Even Microsoft's dishonest and money grabbing move to block Win 7 updates on socket 1151 CPU's can be overridden with no loss of functionality.
HII Installed Dimensions CC from Creative Cloud just like other adobe products. Hi All,I've a shadow's rendering issue with a decal on a transparent material, the dropped shadow of the decal is too sharp and dark on the glass bottle material, here's an example on what I mean :
I have the latest version of the Surface Pro series and I see the i7 has Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 (which is a more updated version of the requirements for Dimensions), yet every time I try and open up Dimension the system says I do not have the proper system requirements. Anything you can do to help would be awesome. I have searched the forums, and I did not see the proper fix for the SP 2017. Thanks!
Hello everyone. I know this has been asked before, but some time has gone and maybe this has changed by the way. Does dimension allow modelling now?Latest update is in 2017 on the product page.Didn't it get updated lately? Thanks for help.
Hi folks,Has anyone at all been able to render a decal on a disk correctly? I've tested all the models on Adobe Stock with disks and none of them work with decals.I either get an error message that the model dose't work with decals, or this attached warped thing. In the picture there's a cylinder with the default decal, and a disk with the default decal, but warping.I would live to use this application for doing quick product renders, but there just doesn't seem to be the infrastructure behind it.I don't suppose i'm doing something wrong, or there's a way around this?
Hi,I have a Windows PC with: cpu i5-7400 and 8gb of ram, my brother can give me an AMD hd 7870 but to istall it i need to buy a new power supply, but before to spend money on a new power supply i want to know, adobe dimension would work with the AMD hd 7870?
I've read some other posts about incompatibility with Dimension working on certain systems but I don't have a mac and my system is identical to my boss and he was able to install and run it. I get an error message stating my system doesn't meet the system requirements but I've checked best I can and this system meets the requirements on the requirements page of the software. Is there another issue that could cause this? BTW the FAQ and Help link for this forum does not work.Win 10 ProAMD FX 8-core Processor 3.10 GHz16GB ram64-bit Operating SystemATI Radeon 3000 GraphicsThanks
I have a new Lenovo Ideapad320 which has an AMD A12, 7th Gen, 8 gb RAM, and Radeon R7 graphics. The first time I was able to open Dimemsion and work with it for a little bit with no real issues. Since then have not been able to open - says system is not compatible. Please help.
