I would like to import 300 obj files into Dimension. If this is not possible, then I am able to generate a single obj file with the content of the 300 original obj files. But then I am not sure how to break them into independent object for further manipulation in Dimensions. (this can be asked independently of my first question). Thanks!
I'm trying to find MDLs for Adobe Dimension, but all I try to import appears the message ...UNSUPPORTED MATERIAL FILEAnd it shows that the version is incompatible, but I can not find information on which version is compatible or where I can get more MDL. Can someone help me? What is the version of the MDL?
Hello everyone! I want to know what the "Remove unused assets on save" option, which is located in the "Edit-Preferences" menu, is for. I need an example of use for a test. Thanks for the help!
Hi,ich nehme eine Fläche, stelle sie aufrecht, und dann möchte ich sie wölben. Ähnlich einem Papierlabel, das in der Luft schwebt.Wie kann ich die Fläche wölben?Danke im voraus!
I'm enjoying preparing files to be used for our designers but is there a way to change focal length on the camera? The focal length of the default camera is too wide and I can't seem to find a way to change it.Thanks,Jarrod
Basically what I am trying to do is place a background image into dimensions, then place another image that is much smaller on top of my background image and place it on one of the walls of the background image to make it appear as a canvas print on the wall, but can't figure it out (Very new to dimensions, just downloaded it tonight). I've done it in photoshop and looks good, but just wanted to try it out in dimensions to see if it made it look nicer.

I am intersted in finding out if Dimension CC would be the tool I need to map text to a photographic surface such as an apple or a face. If I can do that with this program where would I see examples of this application? In the video demo I saw, it is not clear if the graphics being mapped to packaging and bags were actual photographs or 3D renderings.Any thoughts would be helpful folks.

Good afternoon awesome adobe creatives and other amazing fellow creatives! I work for a cup manufacturer company and when I expressed how awesome it would be for Dimensions would be for us, my management decided to put me in charge of figuring out all the ins and outs of the program for us to created accurate renderings of all our lines of cups. We do in mold labeling which allows photo quality images to be placed on cups and this program will help greatly when we are trying to capture new clients.I had our engineering department send me a 3D file over but they didn't know what a OBJ file was and said they can't export directly from their own software but they did supply me a STL file that I was then able to open in PS and export as a OBJ file. This allowed me to view our cup in Adobe DN. BUT, I am unable to add decals to the object. I can add materials but not art. I saw on a previous question that there were something about UVs that are needed in order to place decals onto the object
If I put 5 elements into a scene, and I want the last element that I added to be physically underneath all 4 previously built elements, how do you re-order the elements to move the new top element under the others? In the Environment panel, I would have assumed that it's simply just re-ordering the elements like stacked paper, but this has no affect on physical order.Am I missing something obvious?TIA,doug
I have limited experience with 3d modeling, I've only done the basics in SketchUp and Photoshop in the past.I purchased a dropper bottle 3d model for a rough concept I'm working on. I get that I can just drop an image onto the label (a separate surface layer) and I can scale it, but I want to save my image to the right dimensions to cover the whole label. I'm having trouble finding out what the dimensions of the label are, where do I find that out? I could just guess and keep re-saving the image in different sizes until it fits okay, but I'd rather avoid this practice especially for the future! And ideally I would design it with a bit of a bleed so that it covers the whole label nicely. The tutorials I've seen so far just show dropping a logo on the bottle, but I need to show a little more product information than that
so the top menu bar is missing now and i cant get it back, f9 wont work and i cant import 3d assets without it
Hey guys, having an issue. I'm getting harsh black shading errors when rendering in Dimension. I've flipped my normals in 3DS Max and everything looks good, but still having these issues. When I render from above the issue goes away. So it looks like it's only at extreme angles. Any thoughts???
Hi, i really need your support here, can't find away to have a render preview or a render result with Dimension CC.I attach Screenshots with my system and the output.I have an almost realistic design output but i can't render my project. The Rendering Result is something like thisis it a problem with system requirements? do i have to update the system? or i can solve it with other way.Thank you!BK
Hi, I'm trying to open an obj file from Sketchup pro but when I import it to Dimension, it just shows the loading screen and never opens the actual obj file. I eventually have to force quit the program because it locks on that loading screen. I also have no idea how to look at a crash report or error log so if anyone would like to see that, I again, have no idea how to find that.
I'm working on a table with a wooden material. I have a data base with different wooden materials (jpg). I selected the tabletop and upload the jpg (interior, shape, surface). But 'design' aswell as render doesn't show the wooden material (structure). Does somebody know what the problem is?
I'm just exploring Dn.If I have got this right, it provides just 2D images of 3d created objects? In other words, it doesn't create models I can export into After Effects?Regards,Graham
Hello,Total 3D newbie here, I'm a graphic designer and illustrator. So I've been trying since yesterday to create a simple mockup of a picture book I illustrated with Dimension. I bought the 3D model from Turbosquid (after subscribing to Adobe Stock and purchasing a book model from there didn't work because of the problem described here: Can't Apply Decal to .OBJ model after import and I spent way too much time finding that out, unsubscribing and getting my money back, although the problem is obviously known since October, ahem) and it seems I can apply a decal only to one page at a time but not to both pages – neither with the double spread as one image nor as two separate images. Is there again a problem with my model or am I overlooking something here? Thanks in advance!Anneke
Hi all,I was wondering if it was possible to create the appearance of a cut out surface on a model, without having to create an entirely new model in some other program? I've attached what I'm trying to recreate (this was done in Illustrator); I'm trying to cut out the X logo from the front surface of the outer slip/case, so the material on the box underneath shows through. I've tried a few things like importing .pngs as materials/decals but the empty areas are never picked up as transparent.I appreciate any and all help, cheers!
This needs to be on Adobe Stock. Where is it? Could you upload one?
Hello,I'm new to Dimension and for some reason, recently, when I import a background image the viewport remains blank. I had a corrupted scene that crashed so I tried re-installing, but that did not work. Any idea why this is happening? I can see the imported image under the canvas properties. Thanks.
Do you plan to import others file formats ? (eg : Keyshot files)My designer works on keyshot & I would like to keep all textures stuff included !
