Questions

I have the latest Dreamweaver installed and I do a lot of editing via FTP my question is why does it take so long to load up? Other html editors load lightning fast the old style Dreamweaver before you all went to this newer version MONTHLY PAYMENT VERSION would load instantly! Dont you all benchmark your scripts for performance? Slim it down and speed it up or find out what is making it so slow to respond it's not my computer or internet connection either. Maybe I am doing something wrong I sure hope someone has a fix for this problem.

Under Big Sur Dreamweaver 21 shows in the projectlist of the files-window (after klicking on the projectselect field) not only drives and projects but additional "drives" with the extension ".backup". The names of these "drives" are corresponding with the Backupdirectories on my timemaschine-drive.Why shows Dreamweaver that and why the extension ".backup"? Finder dont't find such files or volumes on my Mac.SincerelyWalter Stodden

When in v18 even with the box unchecked to view as temp file, dreamweaver still shows as temp file. I deleted the winfilecache file to no avail. When I click the browser button I want dreamweaver to open the file ON the website.

Hi All.  I have been reading about sliders (carousels) and the hero image.  The hero image seems like a more SEO friendly choice. I'm not fond of a huge image but I understand that it is best for mobile as well. Anybody have any input on either?

I haven't updated my website in years .  I used many falsh animations on my website which are no longer supported in Google.  Using my Dreamweaver CS5 I updated one page with with a number of jpeg (72 dpi) and used clickable hotspots on these images.  Years ago (when I last updated mywebsite) the format I used in Bluehost was different for updating web pages.  Calling Bluehost web support they had no idea how to update my html files with jpeg backup images.  I also used FileZilla years ago  to post to Bluehost but there format/procedures are very different now.  Can anyone help me as to how to update my website either directly in Bluehost or through FileZilla? 

I am using Dreamweaver CC 2015.1 Release.The FTP log window, accessed from Site->Advanced->FTP Log, stays blank while uploading files.  The Log button at the bottom right of the Files window brings up a windows that usually disappears in a flash, but sometimes persists long enough to read part of it.  The connection often times out, but repeated attempts to upload files usually succeed, eventually.  What can I do to get a more stable log of what is happening?

I recently updated my backup laptop (Win10) to DW2021 and ever since then, I'm unable to edit images as all the options on the properties bar, apart from Edit in PS, are now missing (refer to image).My main machine (iMac MacOS11.1) has no problem and I'm still able to edit images on it.Any ideas??? I'm just looking to make a portfolio for myself, and... while I have Dreamweaver, I'm not familiar with the program, nor with web design in general.  However, I am quite very familiar with other Adobe products. Do templates exist?  Is my idea a viable route, to find a porfolio template and say just swap out images and text?  Would another route be better, like websites that cater specifically to modern portfolios?   Thanks for any input!

Says I dont meet system requirements when I know I do in fact I exceed them I cant install Dreamweaver when I had it installed a few weeks ago and working I changed all of my account and had to well try to reinstall it.

Every action, including focusing back to the window, stalls for anything from 2-10 minutes. A simple text edit on a page took nearly an hour to complete. This has made Dreamweaver 21.0 unusable. The problem does not occur with Dreamweaver 20.2 (although that's pretty laggy too, it's nowhere near as bad). Note: this is not the typing lag issue mentioned elsewhere. I checked Activity Monitor while Dreamweaver was running (and lagging) but there was no excessive CPU or memory demand. I have just one site, with local folders on a networked location (smb share). The remote server is connected in a similar way but at a different location. I'm running Catalina 10.15.7 on an early 2015 macbook air. There's at least 150GB disk space to spare so it's not that either. Looking at other issues I might hazard a guess that this has something to do with our local site being at a remote location. I haven't tried moving the local site to a real local location – it's a very old s

I hope she won't mind assisting me resolve a new DW CC problem that I've experienced daily for seven months.] My problem deals with DW's uploading of files (which are generally small "HTML" and "jpg" files). This has been happening with v. 21.0 and v. 20.2. I removed my antivirus apps and browser extensions but those efforts weren't helpful. I also deleted and replaced Dreamweaver's cache files but that was also ineffective in correcting this problem. For the past two weeks, I've e-communicated with my host to see if it was a server-side problem. It tweaked a number of ht-access settings and the mod_expires extension but the problem continues, every time I attempt to upload one or more of my local files to the server. Basically, after selecting the files I want to upload, I click the upload icon to put the files; after a few seconds, I get a notice saying: "File activity incomplete." Good afternoon, Support Community: I have added maps to web pages before using iframe, et cetera ... pretty easy. But I'm working on a web site for a nonprofit, WAHRS, and they would like me to add this particular interactive map from a related web site to their Programs location page. Hello everyone !I am completely new on Dreamweaver and it seems like I made something wrong with the application.When I first started and opened a new file, I hadn't any problem to use "<" (in html). When I used it I got a list of the different tags I could use like the Doctype, paragraph and so on. But I tried to get some personalisation of the application and now, even if I create a new file and type "<" I do not have the tag list anymore and get immediatly the error I wrote on the title of my topic : "Special Characters must be escaped : [<]"If someone now how or what to do to get back the intuitive list it would be a great thing for me.I join a screenshot so that maybe someone will see what's going on here.
