Questions

I can't seem to find a single solution in the Creative Cloud Suite for my needs so I'm hoping an expert here can advise.  What I need is to create a web page that is simple to navigate and search for external content that I designate.  The content formats are PDF documents mostly and occasionally an embedded video.  The website has to be mobile compatible and must have a search feature to locate the content.  We would prefer it if the pdf content displays in a gallery or embedded or a lightbox.  Something along those lines.  The reason is our security team doesn't want people to be able to grab the URL of the document itself.  (Don't ask why, it doesn't make sense to me either.  We just need to get over it and try to solve the problem.)For context, I have customers who require training documentation.  That documentation comes in the form of a pdf. I am stll using Dreamweaver CS6 and considering now a transfer to CC. But this version is only available if you take a subscription to the Adobe Cloud. Maybe a simple question: Can I still work with Dreamweaver CC when I am not connected to the Internet?

I don't want to stir up a hornets nest here but if devs wants to make some sensible contibutions giving their opinions, without getting personal, please do so.Materialise.css front end framework now uses pure javascript, rather than dependency on jQuery.If you compare the current versions of the jQuery min js file and the Materiaise min js - jQuery is 90kb and Materialise is 180kb  the unminified files are 274kb and 369kb respectively.My real question is this. I can understand a developer who says you should use javascript and not jQuery its crap, given they are writing bespoke javascript and not a javscript framework but when I hear developers say 'great Materialise now uses pure javascript and no need for that crap jQuery now' then proceed to hook up a js file which is twice as larger as the jQuery js file, I think that is a bit suspect.Bot require initialisation of some kind but that file is only likely to be 10k maybe, so JQquery is still the lighter of the js frameworks.Why i

Why does the original property inspector permanently alter an image in your website if you try to change its dimensions? The quick property inspector in live view does not do this. Why is there this difference between the two?

I have a template that I recently updated the jquery script link to https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.3.1.min.js However I have found that this library breaks my accordions on about 5 pages in the site.  I need to temporarily link to the 2.2.1 jquery library until I have time to update the 5 pages with new accordion code that will work with jquery 3.3.1.However I only want to revert those 5 pages in particular to jquery 2.2.1.  The reference from the template is making the 3.3.1 no editable (as usually is what is wanted).Can I delete out the 3.3.1 code from the 5 pages or is there some way to make a 2.2.1 script code link reference override the 3.3.1 link?

Hello - I created a page with Dreamweaver CC and used the Simple Template. Everything looks fine on my screen. I upload the files, image files and css file. When I view in a browser - none of the formatting works!  I feel like I am missing something basic --- something is not directed to the right directory or location but I can't figure it out.the file is at www.sisterstea.com/index.htmlEven when I create a new file with just the template --  Sample Template Basic Multi Column Layout and then save that file without making any changes.... formatting is still not coming through and the testing file just shows as textthe testing file is atwww.sisterstea.com/testing.htmlI was worried I had corrupted the css file, so created a new testing site and then copied over the css file to the sisters tea site.....   and even the brand spanking new testing.html file is not showing any formatting.Would appreciate help please!

I really don't know what do to after using Muse.I started using the Dreamweaver with StudioMx  but few months ago started using Muse. Muse......March 26, 2018 we will release the final feature improvement release ...Adobe doesn't even recommend Dreamweaver.Should I come back to Dw?Really need you advice.thank you for reading,James

I'm trying to edit a website using bootstrap in DW. Sadly the layout gets totally messed up in design mode, while it looks nice both in live preview and the browser.This would be fine for me. But my friend relies on using the drag and drop/ WYSIWYG features of DW's design mode. Sadly, with a design mode that hardly resembles the actual page, that's just a mess.Are there any known issues with that? What can I do, such that the design mode looks like the actual webpage?I'ts an old website, the pages got their responsiveness retrofitted, if that's relevant.

Now I keep getting client requests to build their sites in WordPress. This is a new trend I am seeing from more and more clients - they do not just specify the creative work they want done, but they hand me the brush and the bucket too!. Until recently I never had clients demand that I use a particular software package to accomplish a goal and I have been doing this for 25 years!I get that with WordPress they could reserach template examples on their own to get an idea of what they want up front and that would be a plus, but so far they want me to do that reserach as well. Is this normal? It would make sense to me if the css was automatically uploaded too. I see the changes in the .css file. I am trying to edit local links in an library item and what i am getting is something like this: <a href="Library/document.html"> instead of  <a href="document.html"> and I am unable to get rid of this "Library" thing. Hello, all,I'm setting to create my first responsive design project (an internal blog), and I've worked with jQuery UI before.  But I've never worked with jQuery Mobile, and have read threads where UI and Mobile don't necessarily play well together.  Granted, the threads are years old, and maybe things have changed.  IDK.But I wanted to get everyone's opinion on this.  Can UI and Mobile work together?  Or is there a better way to make a responsive design that works well on desktop, cell, and tablet screens?V/r,^ _ ^

Hi Dreamweavers!I‘m not quite sure how to explain it, but I want to do the following:For example, when someone types ‘apples’ I want my site to go to domain.com/apples, or when someones types ‘bananas’ I want the site to go to domain.com/bananas.I don’t know if this is even possible, I tried looking for it on the internet, but I couldn’t quite figure out how to phrase the issue.If it is possible, I would love to learn how. Want ot install cs6  for MAC system

I have a logo where the height is a little to much for mobile so I'm wanting to change it completely at xs. I'm pretty sure this can be done in source code but I can't figure it out. I've searched here and google with no luck. Do I need to hide the element at xs and add the smaller logo? Hopefully this made sense. Thanks, Tim

I am using a Bootstrap 3 panel accordion and have quite a few errors, but I'm not sure what I need to do to correct them. I think because of the errors, the open/collapse has stopped working. For 2 years I've been paying the monthly $50 for all CC apps because I use Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator and Acrobat but I just can't stand CC any longer. I have a high-end Windows machine and these apps take forever to load and there are too many bugs to count. Pretty sad to see Adobe fall so hard.I've gone back to my old, purchased versions on DVD and they work great! Good bye CC, you will not be missed.

Hi,I'm building a new DW website for someone who has already an old WordPress website. He is using the domain and hosting on GoDaddy. I am creating a new DW website and would like to publish everything through DW (through client ftp). I'm just wondering how it works if his old website is already on the air? Is possible to take over once I'll add all the domain user and password and ftp address on DW?Also I would love some assistant how to upload the DW website on a temporary ftp, so the client will be able to view it on a Safari web page from his computer.Many thanks!

How can I add meta tags to dreamweaver

I took on editing a website using Dreamweaver having zero coding experience but picking it up along the way as I am purely a means to an end in terms of editing the site.Anyway, I recently created two new pages for the site based on existing pages and literally copying everything across and then changing the material on the page and the web address.The new pages I have created have put everything else on the site EXCEPT for the meta tags. I have changed these in the coding, but for some reason they STILL won't put to the site.Example... This is what was left in the coding from another existing page that was created. Da tempo si avevano difficoltà all'uso delle utility database definite deprecate dopo l'uscita di cs6.Ora è praticamente impossibile l'uso di qualsiasi addons ed in particolare di quelli che gestiscono in maniera visuale e semplificata, tabelle e database, pagine recordset o semplici visualizzazioni di queste.Rimango perplesso e stupito come tutto ciò ora sia impossibile quando invece era un punto di forza di Dreamweaver.Nel mio ufficio, possediamo ben 7 licenze dreamweaver cc 2018 e questo limite, non giustificato a parer mio, ci impedisce di svolgere la maggior parte dei lavori che sviluppiamo.Se non troviamo una soluzione più o meno ufficiale, siamo costretti ad abbandonare questo prodotto che allo stato attuale, ha perso di efficacia e potenza di sviluppo per una scelta altrettanto inefficace ed ingiustificata.Qualcuno ha trovato una soluzione a questo problema?
