hi dear friends,  iam in the Brushtool and am trying to use the brushtool in combination with the "option-Key" to resize the Brushes. But it wont work. Instead i get a small dialbar and a message on the screen "too smooth a action, select its anchorpoints with the direct selection Tool and adjust the slider"But when i go to my Illustrator Shortcutslist, i can not find the mapping to the "option-Key".What can i do to change this behavior to resizing the brush?  - i have deinstalled and reinstalled older versions (same problem) Now iam in the latest version 29.6.1 again.- iam using the english version of Adobe and my Keyboard is the Apple Magic Keyboard with Iso(european) Layout. Could this make a problem? Nooby Ps: I have a hard time finding the Bracket keys on my Magickeyboard. I have tryed every possible key Command to change the Brushessize manually with any keycomb to find the Bracketkeys. Can anyone give me a helpin hand somehow? Running Mac Sequo

I have been trying to change the default image trace option, as I would like to create a script that utilizes image tracing how do I do this? 

I have created a circle with inner glow effect. After exporting the Image as SVG, the circle becomes flat without effect. But in 2020 I have created another file of same type. That SVG file contains several cicles with different color to maintain the effect.What is the solotion?

Illustrator 2020 run 100% CPU usage with no file opened. I just started the program and it immediately slow down my PC. Help! 

Good Evening,I have a user with Adobe Illustrator 2024 that updated to the latest version on Thursday and his Illustrator is constantly crashing. It seems to get stuck at VectorizeUI.aip and just sits there. If you touch the program at all it will stop responding and windows will ask to end the process. Good day!I've been stuck on creating this mesh and editing each points and curves and still end up with distorted text. Is there a better way on how I can do this? I'm creating a template so that I can just edit the text whenever.

Hi, Everytime I click on a object, it doesn't get selected but sticks to the cursor instead.This is very ennoying when you expect it to only select the object, not moving it. Is there a solution for it? Thanks,Daniël

Hi there. Illustrator prevents Windows 11 from sleeping mode. Instead, the screen goes off and the pc's fans run like crazy. Looked everywhere to find the solution to this issue with no luck. Any ideas?Thank you!

split into grid fails to add guides, even though I specifically check the "add guides" checkbox

Hi, I am writing a UI that can have a user put in a row and column amount that is generated within the UI on the fly, then passing each new icon button into a function that assigns a task to it. The task is to then allow a dialog to open upon 'OnClick' that allows the user to select a required design to be assigned to that part of the grid. Once the design is chosen I want the icon button image to update to give a visual representation of that design i.e. a star, a hat, a bell etc.Does anyone know how to update an image within an icon button?I have tried all sorts with the likes of drawImage(), newImage() etc. but just no joy. Examples of some of the things I have tried below but can't seem to get it to work:iconbutton1.image = iconbutton1.newImage(File.decode(iconbutton1_imgStringNEW));iconbutton1.graphics.drawImage(iconbutton1.image = newImage(File.decode(iconbutton1_imgStringNEW)),0,0); Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi Guys,  I use Illustrator to make SVG vectors from JPEGs which I then use on a laser engraving machine to make jewellery. Since the 2025 update the image traces haven't been working. The best way I can describe it is that the image traces are no longer closed and the detail I need to engrave bleeds out. Before the 2025 update I followed exactly the same process and the image traces that were generated did not have this issue. I have attached a few images to better explain what I mean and if anyone has any ideas how I can replicate the older style image trace that was closed I would be greatly appreciative. Many thanks in advance

Have Illustrator 29.3.1. When I use the Measure Tool, a black dialogue box appears with the Message "Calculate area of selected shapes    Use the selection too to select the shapes first."  Nothing that I have tried will removed this box from my screen.  It blocks the toolbar unless you move the toolbar, and then if you try to use the Measure Tool again, it moves with it.

Bright red stars, error message:"Print Bleed extends graphic to bleed using generative Al and uses 1 credit per generation, unless you have a plan with unlimited access. You can turn it on or off in Preferences." I don't need AI to set a print bleed, can do that myself, and do not have "preferences" in illustrator. Do have settings. I did not ask AI to set my print bleed so don't feel I should be charged for it. Please advise where to find and shut this off so I'm not being charged. Thanks!

After the most recent update, the mobile and video artboard presets moved to the top of the list. I work with print mostly and switch from A4 to A3 in my artboards a lot and it was great to have them on top. Can I have this back? I'm attaching how it looks like now. The print presets are way at the bottom and I have to scroll past all of these that I'm never gonna use. At first, if let's say I create a new A4 document and then click on the preset, it's automatically scrolled down to the print ones. But if i then make a new undefined size artboard and click on the preset later, it's back to the top of the list which is filled with iPhones etc. 

Hi all,    I always use Adobe illustrator to convert customer-logo's to a DXF format, to use in lasercutting applications. This always worked wonderfull.   However, i just found that my Illustrator program won't let me give this option in the Save or Export settings.  (see images Attached)   Let me know what i'm doing wrong, i'm going mad 😛      Thanks in advance!     {Renamed by MOD}

I have an M4 Pro MacBook Pro with 48 GB of RAM, running macOS Ventura 15.5. I'm using the latest version of Illustrator 2025 (29.6.1). It takes around 20 seconds to move a single linked image, and the spinning wheel appears. In the end, the image does not even move. How is Illustrator even running this slowly? The file I am editing is an AI file that's 285 mb. I've added a video.

I recently updated my Illustrator 2025 to the newest version - v 27.9.3. I'm not sure what happened and can't seem to find anythign on this but my grouped objects no longer move together.  When I try to slide my grouped objects around the layout, the symbols in the group seem to move separately from the overall group which is very frustrating.  Is there something I'm overlooking that I can do to stop this from happening?  I have a screen recording of an example.

My computer is Windows 10 and i use latest version of Illustrator CC now.There should be an label on upper left side of artboard that shows artboard's number/name,and X label on upper right side of artboard. But nothing shows in my Illustrator.I tried everything to solve this problem.I uninstalled and redownloaded Illustrator countless times, restarted computer, found AIPrefs file and removed it.But nothing worked. I did all of solutions exist in internet.What should I do?

I am working on an illustration that uses a lot of tapered strokes. I'm using the stroke width tool to make one end of a line wide and taper it to a point. It works great, up until the lines are more than about 2 inches long. Then they get pointed on both ends and wide in the middle, even though they have the same width profile applied. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a solution, or a better way to achieve the same look?

Hi there — A week ago, a few of my Adobe products began lagging when attempting a click-and-drag with the direct selection cursor. I noticed it first in Illustrator, but then noticed it in InDesign as well. I primarily use Illustrator in my day-to-day, so I'm posting here. After a fair amount of Googling, I discovered many people with the same problem over the past few years, all who had different solutions presented to them (to varying amounts of success). I've tried all sorts of things to resolve this issue, but nothing has worked. So I'm hoping to get some additional insight here. I'll outline the steps I've taken below: The problem: Clicking on an object and trying to move it has a relatively huge delay on it. Trying to select multiple objects in quick succession also makes the cursor to "stick" causing some items to suddenly jump around. It happened suddenly and seemingly randomly one day after lunch. Using a company laptop, currently when I move any object/text/shape/etc on an artboard it lags and then becomes attached to my cursor without me holding down. Essentially, I am unable to click and drag anything. I checked, and all of my "snap" settings appear to be the same on this new work laptop and my personal laptop, but I am able to click and drag as normal. The version of illustrator installed is the same as well. How do I fix this? 

In 29.6.1, I faced a major major major issue.All those files where an object has double transparency effect - For example1) Apply MULTIPLY effect (Try applying on a gradient)2) Group the object with self (CMD + G)3) Apply SCREEN effect Result - Totally broken preview. Tried changing color settings but no luck. Eventually rolled back to 29.5.1 and it worked.  Anyone else facing similar issue? Any solution?Any suggestion please.  Cheers!!!SK
