What is the best workflow to retrieve process color mixes (RGB, Hex) from a CMYK brand color via an ICC profile conversion in Illustrator? In other words, how do I ensure the correct ICC profile is being used for the conversion? Color Settings: North American General Purpose 2RGB: sRGB IEC61966-2.1CMYK: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 Should I change the document color mode from CMYK to RGB first, then retrieve the color mixes? (See below) Proposed Workflow 1:Document color mode is CMYK Assign Profile to document: Working CMYK: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 Change document color mode to RGB – Changing the document workspace to the sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile. The swatches and graphics are also converted to the sRGB color profile. Hallo zusammen,wie kann ich in Illustrator die Hintergrundfarbe von nur einer einzelnen Zeichenfläche so festlegen, dass diese Hintergrundfarbe beim Export tatsächlich mit exportiert wird? Aktuell verwende ich als Workaround ein farbiges Rechteck. Gibt es hierfür eine bessere oder offizielle Lösung? Ich wünsche euch noch ein schönes Wochenende.

There are AIC files on my apple tablet with a blank file thumbnail that I can see in my adobe cloud app, in a folder. I cannot open the file in Illustrator on the Ipad, nor can I export the file. When I open the app on desktop or on a browser, I can see the a folder but the files are gone. Has anyone had a similar issue?  

Howdy folks,   Over some routine system work, my 2023 Illustrator v27.x.x version got a bit fuzzy.  After uninstalling it, I noticed I was unavailable to download anything previous from Illustrator v28.x.x. to the most recent.  Problem is, I need v27.x.x. due to a plugin that won't work on anything past 2023.  Can anyone guide me to a place where I can download any of the 2023 v27.x.x versions of Adobe Illustrator?  thanks

I want to create an action to hide or unhide the "Control" bar by assigning a shortcut to that action. However, the "Insert menu item" option doesn't work.

I got an PDF from a customer. I selected the black and gave it the value 30/30/30/100. and saved it back to a PDF.After printing, the black was not black, but grey. When I opened the file in Acrobat, it was also grey. Opened back inIllustrator again, the black was as specified above.What is going wrong?You can check the file in the attachment, but only in version 30+. Lower versions import the PDF instead of opening it, and the grey wil show immediately. Any help or suggestions are welcome.

Hi Guys Ever since I have updated to entire Adobe CC to 2020. I have been facing multiple messages with regards to my source files on AI.  The pop-up message indicates " Illustrator could only partially read this file". Files were fine before the updates and after the updates, I cannot access any of my files now.  These are source files and before I get into a “Full Panic” mode, I really hope its a glitch on the latest updates, as I have absolutely no access to my sources other than AI. I have tried the recommended recover steps by opening the AI files on PDF mode then save it as PDF then open on AI again, unfortunately, AI doesn’t read the files.Adobe Technician, please help in assisting this matter ASAP as I have deadlines.   JA

Basically, title. Using alt +  mousewheel to zoom in and out is very laggy and slow (5-10 seconds to update). No issues on previous version or using zoom tool. Issue persists with animated zoom disabled and enabling "zoom with mousewheel". Navigating the document with mousewheel causes the same issue.

Did anyone else have ‘View using GPU’ break in Illustrator 30.2? Although a supported GPU is showing in Performance prefs and GPU+animated zoom are both turned on, the ‘View using GPU’ is greyed out in the pulldown menu and zooming is back to the old drag selection box.I downgraded back to 30.1 on the same machine and it works fine.   

Hi! I’ve been trying to achieve this fill effect using a freeform gradient and halftone effect in Illustrator, but I didn’t manage to get it right. Can someone let me know how to achieve it? 

With the latest update for Illustrator if I click on the filter tab in the Font Menu, Illustrator freezes for a few minutes. If I'm patient it will continue where I left off. This happens every time I access the filter tab to sort by characteristics (script, hand made, serif..etc) Anyone know of a way around this?

Uso un plugin che si chiama FONTSELF per realizzare font.È sempre andato bene, ma oggi, per altri motivi, ho dovuto reinstallare Illustrator e, quando ho riattivato il plugin, la risoluzione di illustrator è passata a 2k, su di un monitor 4k.Cioè vedevo le icone, i pulsanti, insomma tutta l’interfaccia di comando con una risoluzione non giusta…Ho disinstallato e ri-installato illustrator e tutto è tornato normale.Ho riattivato il plugin e la risoluzione è tornata a 2k.

Meu PC é um VivoBook X512FBC que adquiri em 2021 onde eu já utilizava o Photoshop e o Illustrator, ambas as suas versões do ano de 2021. Após uma atualização no Creative Cloud, adquiri a versão 30.0 do Illustrator que seria do ano de 2026, porém eu reparei que ele não era compatível com as configurações da minha máquina, precisando então voltar à versão de 2021. O problema é que esta versão não está mais disponível no Creative Cloud, a versão mais antiga é a 29.0 (2025), mas ao utilizar, meu PC apresentou uma certa instabilidade devido ao processamento do programa. Fui aconselhado à entrar em contato com o suporte da Adobe, mas nenhum dos agentes estava disponível quando eu precisei. Como eu adquiro novamente a versão antiga para que eu possa continuar usando o Illustrator?

New to illustrator so apologies as sure this is simple, I want to cut a heart shape out of a block of text.I've created a square and used the area type tool to type my text to make a square block of text, all I want to do now is cut a heart shape out in the middle leaving it blank, this must be simple but don't know what I'm doing.Any help greatly appreciated.

I have an adobe illustrator subscription but when I try to get to the place to install it only shows the Ai Beta in the creative clout desktop. Help! I need this for a class I’m trying to take and it’s urgent.

Many os us (designers) don't have a huge screen to be able to spread all windows/tools allover thus, my request is regarding the way the colours names are displayed in the swatches window (specially in Illustrator and InDesign). I can’t see all values!!!  For a high-end detailed work my screen is set for maximum pixels, thus the letter size is quite small.Even using the "small list view", all values can't been seen (this is what I see now: C=30 M=60 Y=4...) unless the swatches window is really wide... using too much space out of my screen.Maybe a quick solution could be using C30 M60 Y40 K10 instead of C=30 M=60 Y=40 K=10There are also many space “not used”, but still the total full colour value can’t be seen.

In Illustrator 21.1 when I click on art or anything, my mouse wonders off for a second without me touching it? This happens every time I click on anything, so you can image the time it take to finish something. I’ve looked up solutions on google via preferences, and windows 11 with no success. Please help! the mouse works fine in all other Adobe products, and on the web. I even changed the batteries as a precaution. 

Illustrator 2026 gives this error when opening: "An unknown error occurred (18.020). Adobe Illustrator will be closed." Does anyone know the solution?

I've been trying for weeks and it won't work! I tried File->Place, and also tried dragging the image directly into Illustrator. JPEG, PNG, PSD.. none working!!!!I've uninstalled and reinstalled. It still won't work! Is this a PC problem? Never had a problem before when I used Mac before. How can I resolve this? I have to work on a project. Need help ASAP! 도와주세요!

Hi there I am assisting a client of ours with a GPU error that is being received whilst he is in Illustrator. He is one of the marketing designers for the company. The device specifications are: Dell Pro Max 16Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 265H64GB of ramIntel(R) Arc(TM) Pro 140T GPU (32GB)NVIDIA RTX PRO 1000 Blackwell Generation Laptop GPUWhilst using Illustrator he repeatedly receives the following error message, I have gone through the forum and tried all applicable fixes includingSetting the application settings within the Nvidia panel to use the high performance GPU.Updated the Intel Iris drivers.Updated the Nvidia drivers.Uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Creative Cloud. (Used Revo uninstaller to ensure a clean removal).Attempted the registry fixes.None of them worked, The GPU is also not visible within the Adobe settings as per below,I am unsure as to how to resolve this issue as it is a brand new device. Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi! I'm creating a digital sewing pattern. It looks completely normal when it is in AI and as a digital PDF document, but when I print it out, extra lines appear, coming from one of the corners.It happens on page one (as well as some other pages). I have already confirmed that this is NOT a printer issue (it happens on 10 different brands of printers for those who tested it for me). I'm attaching files and photos. Please advise!!!   

I gotta tell you this is ridiculously frustrating. I searched the community for this issue and found exactly the same problem 7 years ago. I have Illustrator 2025 (Mac), and when I select text and paste it into any other program (Mail, Thunderbird, TextEdit) it is not editable. Instead it pastes as an image, so you can not insert the cursor any place in the text and edit.2026 Adobe - its 2026The old threads mention this as a bug in 2017. This is such a basic function, and yet I am at the forums seeking help. The suggestions in 2017 are ridiculous. Why should I have to paste text into a web browser or InDesign, then copy it again?  What a waste of time (and money).If you have a suggestion I am all ears, and I do appreciate the advice. I have two objects on my artboard and I want them to be a specified distance apart.  I usually use the Align tool and then Distribute Spacing to specify the size of the gap between them but it is currently not letting me specify the size of that gap.Select both objects Click one object to make it a key object Open align panel and look at the Distribute Spacing section - the box to enter the distance is blank and won’t let me type anythingnote: the vertically/horizontally distribute space buttons work fine, I just can’t set the distanceI am using Illustrator 2026 v30.2.1 on Windows 11
