So, my latest CC Ilustrator version crashed after I accidentally put the Gassian Blur effect up a bit too high on a circular gradient.All the toolbars, control and panels just simply didn't load up with any new document open - or the software would just crash with a generic message upon launch.I've re-installed the program, keeping my settings from before [swatches, jump list etc], but it's not letting me select my saved Workspace, nor allowing me to create/ reset / manage them. All greyed out. And it only comes up with the artboard and elements, none of the system UI, again.... Any ideas on what to do now? 🤔 🤔

Selection tools have been really buggy ever since update. I will click and drag to select an area and in the middle of the drag it will deselect, or at the end of the drag when I let go it will show all the points and then deselect anyway. I will have to drag multiple times over the same area in order for it to finally select that area. It is extremely frustrating, I have never had this issue in the past. Please let me know if there is a fix for this, my husband is having the same issues (he works on PC, I'm on MAC.) I also noticed that when trying to select text areas to move them they will sometimes change my selection tool to the type tool, this is probably an unrelated issue but I would also like it to stay on the selection tool when moving type like it used to in the past.   

I'm having this issue running Illustrator 2024 (because 2025 is still too buggy to run on my Mac) when saving a file to PDF. When I open the PDF in Acrobat, all of the numbers in the font and any spaces show up as a box with an X. The font is the Adobe font, Gotham. It's an Adobe font, activated in the Adobe fonts in Creative Cloud, and it is still having these issues in Adobe products. 

Windows 11 - Recently updated to 29.5.1 and noticed a dramatic decrease in speed in Illustrator.  Looked at Edit > Preferences > Performance and found the GPU was not detected.  I have an Nvidia 2060 Super.     After many attempts at trouble shooting, I installed 29.3.1 and GPU was working again.   I tried to use the "Administrator" start up, but that also failed.

I am unable to browse through the fonts, it doesn't let me scroll. If i, for example, wanted to edit the spacing between letters of any text, it doesn't let me drag the bar to alter the text.  It's not letting me move objects around the canvas i either really don't know how to work illustrator or there is something wrong with the app, i am using illustrator on an iPad rather than desktop? Should this affect these features please help

Please can someone help as my productivity is going through the floor. I am running a 2019 27" iMac 3.6 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 - 64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 - Radeon Pro Vega 48 8 GB. OS Sequoia 15.3.2.For a few months now I have been having problems with my Adobe CC apps, particularly Illustrator, although it also happens with PS and ID from time to time.When zoomed in doing intricate work (illustrating in Illustrator or retouching/clipping paths in PS) one of these two will hang the system in such a way that I cannot access the dock, but the cursor is still moving about the screen when i try to click on various things. So my Mac is not hanging per se, but everything else becomes unavailable to me. I cannot force quit anything to get back to the finder or any other app and the only way out is to restart. So, I get the option to reopen previous apps when i restart, and it makes no difference whether I do this option or choose any other, but exactly the same thing hap

Hey everyone, I am trying to cut/divide a freeform gradient square into evenly spaced stripes. I used before Object/Path/Split into grid method and it was working perfectly with linear gradient but not with freeform or images. I am stuck.. can someone help me please? Below I attached an image to show what I am trying to do (one on the left side is divided into stripes so I can flip them etc like on the right side)  

I'm using v29.5.1 (64bit)I'm resizing placed images to fit a template, and then embedding the images. This week (the week of 18 May 2025), when I select all of the images in the links panel (shift + LMB), and selected the 'embed image(s)' option from the drop-down menu, some of the images (between one and three images, so far) will be copied in the links panel, with the copy reverted to its original size and orientation, and the rest of the images may or may not embed at all. I can delete the copy without affecting the original.Selecting each image individually to embed works without an issue, but it's sloooooooooooooow.I've also noted that I lose image formatting if I have the text tool selected when I select an image and relink to a different image, but I don't lose image formatting if I use the selection or direct selection tool. (This is an issue since at least v26.)Any ideas?

I have several projects that need 15-20 artboards in one file with multiple unique sizes. Right now, I create each artboard individually working of a long list of typed out measurements . Is there a script or something that would allow me to copy and paste in the measurements for each artboard and then have illustrator create them all at once? It would save me hours of work a week if I can find a way to do this. 

I created a new shape with the pencil tool . But i want them to line up together instead of the light colour shape sticking out at the right.  I tried to use the join tool but there is no achor points near to join the darker shape to the lighter one.  Shape builder doesn't do anything either?   how do i join them so they look like one shape but 2 different colours?   

Hi, I've been experiencing an issue with Illustrator CC over the last few days, where the program crashes after loading the window. I won't be able to interact with anything, and trying to click on anything makes the program become unresponsive; Windows will notify me to close it.  I've tried a few things over the last few days.-  Tried older versions. This allowed me to get into the preferences to clear my files, but once I tried to open a file or create a new document, I would get the same crash.- Used the Creative Cloud cleaner tool. This had no effect.- Uninstalled Creative Cloud and all Adobe Applications.- Deleted most of the files in my %temp% folder that had Adobe in the title.  My next thing to try is a fresh Windows install, but before I do that, any recommendations for things to try, or has anyone had a similar issue in the past? Windows 11, 11th Gen i7-11800H, 16GB RAM, RTX 3050 Laptop GPU Thanks

Hi all, I am drawing a 2D sketch for my clothing line.  But i have a problem with filling  the colors in. i think i made a bit of a mess with the drawing, but i have really no clue how to solve this. i just have the program a few days and spend alot of time on drawing this. Currently Adobe Illustrator automatically and arbitrarily converts text parts to outlines, making these parts not editable nor selectable. It's not related to fonts, because that font is on my computer, and, other text parts that has exactly the same font are editable and not converted.It's just because of the code point. For example, in term `∀𝑥`, the ∀ (U+2200) is editable and 𝑥 (U+1D465) is converted to outline. I really dislike this arbitrary behaviour. If compatibility is considered critical, the program should at least give an option to allow us the users to choose whether to convert them to outlines  

Hi Adobe team, I’ve noticed that recent updates to Illustrator have changed the thumbnail background in CC Libraries to white. This has made it very difficult to see white or light-colored graphics, especially logos or icons, since they blend into the background and become almost invisible.Previously, the transparent or darker thumbnail background made it much easier to preview and organize assets — especially when working with branding files that include white elements. Our ideal use for Libraries is to quickly navigate branding elements like logos, icons, and design components. This feature has always helped us work more efficiently and stay organized. However, now that we can't see the thumbnails for white graphics, it's significantly slowed down our workflow and made visual navigation much harder. It would be incredibly helpful to either:Restore the original transparent/dark background, orAdd an option to toggle thumbnail backgrounds (light/dark/transparent) Tha

I need help or I need Adobe to fix their app because for the past month I have been fighting with this message. I am constantly losing or having to remake files/artwork that took hours to make to begin with. I have been saving as I go and all of a sudden this message will appear. I'm losing WORK files. I am losing valuable time, deadlines are being affected, HOURS OF WORK IS POINTLESS.  I followed the steps it says and nothing is being resolved. I keep having the issues. I have tried saving as an SVG file when this message appears but it is making my worked harder to complete. This shouldn't be happening to begin with.  What am I supposed to do?

Hallo liebe Community, ich habe folgendes Problem mit Illustrator. Ich kann seit ein paar wochen nicht mehr an den Ecken Größer und kleiner skalieren was echt ein Problem ist. Normaler weise zeigt er mir, wenn ich mit der Maus auf den Ecken gehe ein Pfeil an, dass ich größer und kleiner saklieren kann der wird mir nicht mehr angezeigt. Woran kann das liegen? Könnt Ihr mir da bitte weiter helfen?

I like this image and don't want to straight up copy/steal it. Is there a way to EASILY get all dots and all possible connections drawn in Illustrator? I'd hate to manually draw hundreds of lines. Thanks for any help you might offer.  

Why is selecting characters like letters or numbers in Illustrator so complicated? I have to be surgically precise every time just to move a word or a number.

Is there a way to select multiple anchor points in a shape, delete them and have the shape remains closed? I know I can use the delete anchor point tool, but this can only be used on one anchor point at a time. Using the lasso tool, direct selection tool, you can select multiple anchor points and delete, but it breaks shapes.

When I have an object selected and I hold down the Option key, these measurements are displayed. How do I turn that off?  

Hola! Me encuentro con este problema. Tengo descargada una fuente de google fonts y funcionaba bien,  aparecia todas sus variantes. Pero cuando la quise actualizar dejo de aparecer la variante Bold.Intente desinstalarla y instalarla, apague y prendi la computadora. Pero no se soluciono. Espero que alguno me pueda ayudar. I run a mixed workload of RGB and CMYK documents.  One of the major drawbacks of Illustrator is the functionality of the eyedropper.  It's an RGB elitist and doesn't want to help anyone with CMYK.There I said it...the eyedropper tool is an RGB bigot.  It's the 21st century, c'mon Adobe...fix the tool. 😉
