Hey all,I have an issue with a file.Its layered into Artwork white and the Keylines.At some point a outlined letter in the Artwork droped to the white layer changes the colour to the white.I was not able to grab it only in the outline modus of illustrator.it was not detectable as it was in the white colour.Yet it somehow still managed to keep the knock out the on the artwork. Which in this location doesn’t make sense. Never seen anything like it. Can I rule out human error? No, but….. This would actually require a good bid of work to copy the element out, re-colour it to white and lock it in.That would not be an easy job that is done accidentally. The only thing that would make more sense is, that there was a glitch when writing the final pdf that would have caused the code to not output correctly.Has anyone any idea what could have caused this?

  I'm trying to log out from the Illustrator 2023 app, but it won't let me and shows an error message. What could be the problem?Logging out works fine in the Creative Cloud app, but it doesn't work in the standalone Illustrator app.   <Title renamed by moderator>  

The Repeat Object tab does not appear in the Contextual Task Bar. I'm using Illustrator 29.5.1.What is the reason?How can I make it visible?I would be grateful if you could help me.This image from someone's YouTube SS: And this is mine:   

With the installation of the newest version of Illustrator resizing area text boxes only transforms the area shape, not the text within. I used to be able to select the textbox and shape it with it's contents, ike point text behavior. Now I can't do this with the normal selection tool (v) unless I use the transform tool (e). Having to change the tool is annoying extra step in the process. Is there a way to get this behavior back to what it was?  Maybe I have accidently changed a setting, but I checked everything and can't find a solution.  (In the previous version I was also able to select multiple area text boxes and resize them all, now only the boxes resize, not the text within, which is quite annoying as well)   

I'm infuriated. I didn't know this setting was on all the "lowest settings" by default and I sent a resume / portfolio out last night. Why are we still compressing anything in 2025; especially on Low. thank you

Hello everyone,This evening, when I opened the file I had saved after working for a while, I encountered the error "illustrator could partially read this file". I am very angry as I write these. When I researched, I found something strange with a ridiculous extension instead of the .aid file backup system. Why would you change something that works like this? I worked for hours and tried hard, but now I cannot open the file, I tried many ways. The thumbnail looks normal in Illustrator. The file size looks normal too, but it does not open. What should I do now? Does Adobe provide support for file corruption? Is it better to throw away the money I paid to Adobe? Hello. I am attempting to make a similar background to the attached photo below. It was found on Pinterest, and that is as far I found for the original artist, besides it being based off a Taylor Swift song.  My trouble is coming with the effects on the heart. I have used Gaussian Blur as well as Feather, and cannot seem to get the same blurred, soft edges as the source picture. Instead, the entire shape is transformed evenly, and I am unsure how to have it focus on the edge/strokes specifically.  I've attached the source (Red heart with text) and my current edit (green, no words) for reference.  I'd appreciate any tips or referral to tutorials, as I am not able to articulate what it is I'm looking for. Hi,I exported SVG files that contain images from Figma, but when I try to edit them in Illustrator, the images are missing. Instead, I see blank areas where the images should be, and the drop shadows applied to the shapes are not rendering either. But the images look fine on Chrome.Thanks

I'm working on finding good techniques for transferring drawings that I have scanned in Photoshop into Illustrator, and found some old notes from a teacher that said"Trace", then Advanced Panel, then Ignore White, then Expand, but I can't remember how to find "ignore white".

How to create labels in Illustrator ? I would like to ask why Adobe for Illustrator does not create an option that allows from one Label that I create its export to any size on a page of A4 self-adhesive labels from different manufacturers such as Herma, Every, etc. or to custom sizes as it has competing tools. There is only a very complicated manual method and so I always have to create one label in Illustrator, export it to PDF and then export it to full A4 using the tool on onlinelabels.com.Of course, I know it is possible to download a pattern for Illustrator but if you have a really large number of labels, this will take an awful lot of time.Adobe subscriptions are not the cheapest and I think this option should have been in Illustrator a long time ago. Anyone know if it's possible to make a pattern brush with tunable variations between the tiles? Imagine a pattern brush that's a string of lights. Is it possible to vary the distance between bulbs, but most importantly, without gaps, so the wire remains continuous.

I am sorry but have to vent my frustrations with how unbelievably terrible Illustrator is. It is the least user friendly program that has been invented and NOTHING works like common sense would lead you to think it would. EVERYTHING is a complicated and a complete DISASTER no matter how small the task. After upgrading, its one issue after another, but here's a major one.My anchor points are missing and they only show up when I mouse over the object or hold down the COMMAND, or Hold down the COMMAND SPACE BAR (zoom) - what happened to the good old days when I have the SHOW EDGES option on And the ACTUAL EDGES remain visible.  The first picture is what I'm getting at all times. I'm looking to have the edges shown at all times... the second picture is like it was in the good old times, when the edges were shown at all times if one had the 'show edges' option on. I also went through the preferences. TO no avail. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Is there a way for this panel to be permanently collapsed? 

After a while working on a medium size document, File - Place (or command-shift-P) doesn't work. It shows some of the place dialog embeded in the document as a glitch.If we reset preferences works for a while and does it again. tried Illustrator versions 2022 and 2023, on MacOS Monterey 12.6.2. Any ideas? I have an image exported from Matlab as a pdf, since I often overlay additional pdf/vector-friendly elements on overall figures. The problem is, I cannot resize or move the image, it seems to only start repeating itself. I have done this sort of workflow for years and have only just encountered this with some images from Matlab.Default image with its bound box (in a pdf file):Attempting to scale the image casues a repeat of the image starting from the old boundary rather than just scaling the size:Same thing with moving the box (downward here) - it does not actually move the image, but seems to "roll" it: 

How can I turn this feature off? I'm trying to work on something very intricate so I'm constantly zooming in or out and it's so incredibly frustrating that it automatically jumps my view to the center of the object instead of the center of what I was looking at. Does that make any sense? It's like I can't zoom in if I have ANY object selected because it will jump me to the center of whatever area that is. And so then I have to either zoom back out, deselect the object, zoom in where I want to be, THEN select the object, or I have to scroll forever until I get to the area I want to be. SO annoying. Can anyone help with this?

 Can we get additional features to handle Preview Only Text?  • A Highlight Preview Only text feature similar to the Highlight Substituted Fonts Preference?  • A Outline Preview Only text button or preference?  • A preference to turn the feature off all together? Illustrator 2025 is now using embeded fonts instead of demanding they be substituted.  You can not add text or paste it into a differenct document however you can addjust the tracking and the scale. When you paste it into a new document it just defaults and goes missing. This can be a major problem if unoticed by an operator. This is a love / hate feature that I would love no matter what if it just had some additional features/options.  Thoughts?

ID files can preferentially read the current “Document fonts” directory to get the fonts they use as if they were already installed.I wonder if AI and PS have this feature?
