Questions

Hi, For some reason my selection tool won't move objects. It will select them but not move them. All I get is an error sound. The selection will resize and I can move it with the arrow keys, but it won't move when I use the mouse. I have uninstalled and re-installed. This is only happening in illustrator. Not Photoshop or any other program. i am using a windows computer. I tried using the esc button but that won't help. 

Mac Sequoia 15.3. I upgraded to a new iMac and needed to resinstall all my Adobe apps. The only one that's still not right is Illustrator. When I launch AI, I get two error messages. Please see the attached. I tried getting more info, but that only links to info on AI crashing. This may be an Extensis Connect Fonts issue. I tried deleting the .aip file, then opening Connect Fonts to reinstall it, then relaunching AI but I still get those errors. AI and Connect Fonts are both running their current version. Also, if I'm opening an AI file from Bridge or the Finder, I get those two errors but the file doesn't open. I need to go back and re-open the file from Bridge or the Finder. Any help greatly appreciated. 

Ah the free distort tool...Maybe the only Ai tool to feel like it's trapped in the 90s. Please, oh, please can we get an update to this function! I still have a lot of use cases for this tool and would love to see this done outside of a dialog box so you can see your edits in context and live. Going to a fiddly little dialog box where you can't see surrounding elements is not the one!  Great tool but need's bringing into the modern day! Thanks,  

This is a Illustrator issue. We are heree in the Photoshop forum. I'll move this post to the appropriate Illustrator forum.  

If I open a new document and select RGB, it shows washed out colors, and Working CMYK is selected by default in the Proof Setup.Why? Why doesn't Illustrator Display RGB colors in an RGB document without me having to manually change it? Am I missing something?Thanks!   

Found posts here on making something SVG, but I want to get rid of the SVG. 🙂I have this fantastic looking font in my Illustrator (29.0.1) that has an SVG version. I want to create outlines on the SVG font (looks way better than its Vector version of font), but I get just bounding boxes around the letters. What's the trick?

I have created a 3d effect on some type and want to save/keep as a vector, not rasterized. When I go to the 3D Materials panel, and choose the Expand as Wireframes, it loses the top 3d bend of the type.Using "Export 3D object" just saves it as a raster. What else can I do to just turn this object to a nice vector file.... 

Hi community, I have a strange issue with the Wacom Driver, and found also some posts in this regard. But it does not solve my issue, as it's different I guess.  I installed a Wacom Tablet on a PC (let's call him PC old), tried it, and did not like it. I uninstalled it. But the message with the Wacom Driver issue keeps popping up. Until now, I could live with it. Especially as I bought myself a new laptop. I installed Creative Cloud, and installed Illustrator from scratch on the brand new computer. But halas, the error message pops up on the new computer, which has never been in contact with the tablet. When I check the settings and devices, it is shown in the list as only device, unticked of course, but every time I start Illustrator, the message keeps poping up. Now - what can be done, especially as there is nothing to uninstall on the new laptop...?  Thank you for your help,Andy

Good afternoon, there is a problem with 3D - when I select the 3D Effects window, then I select a 3D view, for example, Inflate, for some reason the parameters at the bottom, such as Depth, Twist, and the like, are inactive. I cannot use these parameters, only Inflate works for me, it makes the image convex, but I cannot adjust the parameters further.

Is there a way to change the color of multiple SVG files at once and then batch save them as SVG files? I'm looking for a more efficient method to edit a whole set of SVG graphics without having to open each one individually. Ideally, I'd like to specify a new color across all the files and then save them in their original format. Is there any software or scripting solution that can help with this process? Any guidance on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated!

I have the attached file, I want to make this look like a dashed line, the way the black and white photo is. I want make the green curve end and join with each of the red lines. I made the lines red and green just so it would be clear to explain, I dont care what color it all ends up. How do I achieve this? Thank you!

Heya everyone! I'm struggling in AI with this red box that appears in place of a (JPEG) image. I'm dragging my image from Finder into AI. The image isn't visible but I can move the box around where the image should be. I'm trying to arrange three of this image around a circle to make a pattern using the objects on path tool. I'm not sure if that's even possible so I came here. Hopefully someone knows whats up! Thanks for considering my request! PS. When I double click the red box the image appears but I can't do anything with it.

Quero determinar no Illustrator quais grupos de vetores serão sequencias aninhadas (com a mesmas camadas separadas) no After Effects. Sempre quando eu importo o arquivo no After ele a camada vem agrupada. Por exemplo, no Photoshop em agrupo em pastas e isso vira uma sequência aninhada no After com tudo separado, mas no Illustrator isso não existe. Alguém me ajuda?

Hi,I'm new to Adobe Illustrator, so this is most likely just user error. However, when I open a stock photo I just bought from Adobe Stock, it doesn’t show individual layers. It only appears as if it were a PNG or JPEG. I can't modify the vectors or remove the transparency grid. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi I have a logo I want to export with a transparent background in SVG format. However it keeps adding a white background, eventhough the illustrator file has a transparent one. It works perfectly when I export the file as  PNG.  Can you tell me what I am doing wrong. I have attached the file. 

Is it possible to design a flyer with 8 pages, where each page is 21 cm x 9.9 cm, and print it on an A3 sheet of paper in a foldable triplet format? or are there other ways ? As a designer I should think about it or printing house can find the ways

It's weird. I create a Square with 30cm - illustrator change 30cm to 29,9861 cmI create a Square with 50cm - illustrator change 50cm to 49,9886 cmI work with Illustrator since 2000 and never get this kind of issue..any idea?Daniel

This problem has appeared some day ago and I don't know why. I didn't work on them recently and every graphics with this logo appear wrong. It's a firm's logo and I have a big problem.I hope in your aid!Davide

Why is my pen tool cursor an X? Caps lock is OFF and precise cursor is OFF. Both of these are off. Cursor is still an X.I reset all my preferences to see if it would fix this but it hasn't. Still an X.

Hi all. This is my first time altering letters for a wordmark. As you can see directly below, letters that were made by Create Outlines and not changed have a really smooth curve - it looks great.However for the letters I've editedIt's even more obvious when zoomed out Does anyone have any tips for improving this? I've tried the smoothing tool but it didn't do a huge amount. As a logo, it will be quite small and I'm concerned it looks jagged and also clearly different to the other letters. Thanks in advance   

Dear all, thank you for reading my dilemma in advance.Basically, I have a pdf file that has four fonts which is all in (Embedded Subset) Truetype (CID); encoded in Identity-H.As I am editing it in Illustrator and converting it into a pdf, I see two of the font changed to (Embedded Subset) Truetype; encoded in Ansi. I have further explored if I view the orginally pdf in Illustrator, even if I did not edit anything, whenever I save it us pdf, the font will automatically change to Ansi. I am wondering if anyone could provide me a solution so that even after I edited in illustrator and saved as pdf, the font will stay embedded, cid and Identity- H. please find attached a comparison, the left hand side is the current status after I saved it as pdf and the right hand side is a screenshot of the orginal document properties. Please enlight me on this thank you so much for your time 

Say you have a curved path, just a 'u' shaped curved path. There's 3 anchor points in that path, 2 at the ends and 1 at the middle.How do I remove the middle anchor point without changeing the shape of the curved path?

Hi there,I've been trying to figure this out for days and it's driving me nuts - how to get this effect using Illustrator.I have tried using pattern brushes and clipping masks, but still can't seem to get the level of control I need (angle direction, colours) to achieve this look.Was it created using a plugin perhaps?This reference is definitely a vector file.Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated !!{Renamed by MOD}
