I was working with ChatGPT to Write a Script for Illustrator to Layout and arrange the artboards for Large Murals. Based on the provided info (max Printer Width, Mural Overall Size, Scale 1:1, 1:4, 1:2, 1:10, Overlap width for panels, Custom Bleed for each side, in addition to the overall size,  it should set and arrange all the equal width tiled artboards to print the mural in the current document. I have attached an .ai example file for a 180x120 Mural as to how the blank file should look, as well as a Mural calculator spreadsheet, Its exported to eXCEL, so it may not work as nicely as my Numbers Spreadsheet. It seems to have lost some of the formatting, but the calculations seem to work. I am very novice at scripting. Any guiadance how to get this to work would be appreciated. Following Adobe's latest update to Illustrator, the option to create a PDF containing both RGB images and CMYK vector/text elements is no longer available. Currently, files can only be saved as either RGB or CMYK. Can you help overcome this regression?

Every time I start the program, it doesn't load any of the start menu buttons or show me my recent documents. What can I do in this case? I've already renamed the "CEP" and "Extensions" folders to .old, but nothing works.

Hello. Since upgrading to v29.5 Beta, Illustrator is not allowing me to constrain proportions when scaling. I have tried the old trick of deleting Preferences and rebooting, but that doesn't work anymore. Is anyone else having a similar issue? Any advice on how to remedy this?  Thanks so much! Joe

Hello,In the latest version of Illustrator, I'm stuck on a ridiculous problem! I have some text. I want to adjust the width of the text box without changing the font. I can't figure out how to do it anymore. Every time, it makes the font bigger if I make the text box bigger, and vice versa. The "Adjust Captive Text" preference is unchecked. I've read the tutorials but still can't do it, and I'm stuck. How can I change the "text box" without changing the font? Thank you very much.

Hi crew, As Adobe continues to dumb down our software it feels the need to provide instriuctions on how to use things like The Pointer tool. Does anyone know how to remove this completely redundant feature for those of use who've been using the software since its inception and that this whole space is just taking up screen realestate? It's NOT turning off Tool Tips or Rich Tool Tips in prefs, it's frustratingly hidden in another locaiton called something else other than the thing that all the other useless tips are?Many thanks

I have a script that I've placed in Presets\en_GB\Scripts for testing purposes so it appears in the File > Scripts menu. The script in question calls another script as part of the process, when I run the script from File > Scripts it makes Illustartor hang for about 10 mins whilst its running, the script completes what its meant to do all ok.I run the exact same script but as an action using 'Insert Menu Item', to call the script from the File > Scripts menu, when I do this it runs the same process but in about 30 secs.I have no idea why this is, what is it about running scripts via the actions panel that makes it so quick. Even though this method works, I really need to get it working from the File > Scripts menu.

 Am facing something for the first time here am trying to type but the text keeps apearing backwards Am not sure where to fix this 

Much to my dismay in the last week i found holding shift and dragging corners or edges of objects with the direct select tool will no longer constrain proportions, nothing to do with whether constrain proportions is locked in any transform UI. It goes away when I roll back to the previous Beta thankfully but now i'm stuck a version behind until it is fixed. If anyone has found a solution or a setting that re-enables this in the latest beta please share with the class. I do NOT want a 'workaround'. I want a core aspect of the workflow back. No i also dont want to use the unsightly, slow and janky 'Free Transform' tool so dont suggest it. @adobeDevelopers Just fix it and leave our workflow alone.  A little rant but Adobe seriously isn't stepping up in testing their software for Core workflow stability before releasing updates. You can make a weather icon (sun, clouds, rain, snow, etc.) but you can animate in After Effects and use the shapes to make weather icons. but I draw icons on Illustrator. But how can we do this?

En la version illustrator beta 29.5 52 la herramienta de seleccion directa no me permite escalar (agrandar o encoger objetos) uniformemente aun si presiono la tecla Mayusculas (shift). Alguien podria ayudarme, me gustaria probar mas esta version pero se me hace muy complicado sin esta funcion? In the illustrator beta version 29.5 52 the direct selection tool does not allow me to scale (enlarge or shrink objects) evenly even if I press the Shift key. Could someone help me, I would like to try this version more but it is very complicated for me without this function?

Hello,default unit is now millimeters when I open a SVG files. I am pretty sure it used to be pixels which makes more sense to me. Or was this information earlier saved within the file but not anymore/Illustrator not reading it? macOS Sonoma 14.0Illustrator 28.0

Hello, I’m randomly getting the warning message, “Adobe Illustrator is capturing your screen.” Does anyone else have the same issue? Why might they be capturing my screen?

I'm a teacher in a lab and my new updated Illustrator isn't working as it should. Every time I draw something, it creates a white box around the objects. Also, when students turn their projects in, the preview is correct, but when I open it on my machine it has the dang boxes. ALSO...their color is vibrant and mine is greyed down. I have the color settings to sRGB as always and then we use CMYK on our printable work. I've never seen such discrepanices before. Tech will want to know that I've troubleshooted first, but I'm coming up with nothing. It's not a bounding box issue, which is all I get off of Google over and over. Preview photo and my view attached. (note the paw prints). The colors are the same here because they're both on my computer. That's a different issue I'll work on later.  

I've just recently installed Illustrator 2021 25.0.1 and I keep getting this glitch (?) where as I drag, the shape tool is continously creating shapes with unision to the movement and speed of my mouse.  I can not figure out what is causing this to happen.  I have no third party programs.  Any suggestions would be amazing! Attached are two screenshots of my window to see the massive clump of shapes and the paths, which you can see the general movement of my hand and how it's being continuously made.
