I’m reaching out to request help recovering a corrupted Illustrator (.ai) file that is critical for my job application portfolio. The file was saved successfully in Adobe Illustrator and closed without any errors. However, when I tried to open it the next day, I received the following error:"Illustrator could partially read this file. We recovered as much of the file as possible, but some content might be missing."This project is extremely important for my career, and I’ve already tried all available solutions listed on  I try- Renaming the file extension to .svg and reopening- Attempting to open the file as a PDF (error: file is damaged)- Importing into InDesign (failed with “can’t open”)- Checking the Illustrator recovery folder (no recovery files found)- Using Convertio and other online file converters (failed)

I'm having issues with this one illustrator draw project, it does not appear on either the desktop or mobile creative cloud apps, it only shows up on the mobile creations page on the creative cloud assets website, when I try to open it or create a link the error messages in the screenshot appear and it won't convert to fresco as well, I can rename and duplicate the file but same problem occurs for the duplicate. Is there a way to fix this?

After several vendors have come back asking for missing fonts, I realized Illustrator was not packaging one particular font—Helvetica Neue LT Std 57 Condensed, but it's packaging the Bold Condensed version just fine. I've updated, uninstalled-reinstalled Illustrator, rebooted, and done everything I can think of, and nothing seems to want to package the one font. Doesn't matter the file. I thought I fixed it once (after an update), but it went right back to the same issue. When I've searched for anyone else having this issue, it's usually mentioned that it's due to it being an Adobe font. That's not the case here. My co-worker isn't having an issue. So it's gotta be something specific to me/my settings. Anyone have any thoughts as to what could be the issue? It's quite frustrating since we use that font in all our slugs. 

En Illustrator 2025 para macOS, al hacer clic dentro de campos numéricos (por ejemplo, ancho, alto, grosor de trazo, etc.), la selección de texto no se resalta visualmente. Es decir, aunque los números se pueden seleccionar, no se muestran en azul como ocurre en Photoshop u otras aplicaciones, lo cual confunde al usuario, ya que no hay forma visual de saber si se está seleccionando correctamente una parte del número.Este problema ocurre tanto si se selecciona todo el número como si se quiere modificar solo parte del valor (por ejemplo, el decimal). Probado en macOS  Sonoma, tanto en modo claro como oscuro.En versiones anteriores de Illustrator sí se mostraba la selección correctamente.Espero que puedan corregirlo en una próxima actualización. HiUsing the dimensions tools today the values text is being written backwards. i.e. mm 100 How do I switch this around? Thanks

Attached is a video that shows several moments when I drag a shape near the edge of the viewport, and it jumps. Resulting in me placing the object in the wrong location. How do I turn this off? Thanks.

I have a brand new mac and am working in Illustrator. Over the course of about a week I've started getting the colorful round spinning thing, and now within the last two days, these have started popping up. Apple Care seems to think it's Illustrator, I'm unsure if that is it or a graphic card issue. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Illustrator, and it is very slow. Since it's a Sat there are no Adobe agents to contact, I'm hoping someone here can at least tell me to try with Apple again, or walk away for the weekend. Ha. Thank you.

What happened to this option. I use it all the time and it is gone.

Pixels in the grid and pixels in the Pencil (Pencil tool) — different measurement results are obtained.If in Illustrator you do Edit – Settings – Units: General – pixels, Stroke – pixels.And also guides and grid: grid line every 10 pixels, divisions of 10. It turns out that each small square is one pixel.In work Document setup - also pixels.Draw a square 20 by 20 pixels, select it.Then select the Pencil tool, in the Pencil tool options check ON a "Edit selected paths", specifying within 20 pixels.Try to bring the Pencil tool at a distance of 20 pixels, or even 10 pixels - nothing will happen. But if it's very close to a square, then the Pencil tool will work (the asterisk disappears from the icons) and you can change the shape of the square. It feels like within 20 pixels these are some other pixels.And if you set it within 5 pixels, then the Pencil tool will look even closer to a square.Why doesn't the grid match? Or is there something in the options inside - do it mean other pixels?

I'm having an issue where another artist will send me an Ai file. The fonts will display correctly - but don't appear in font menu. Any ideas on how to fix this? I use Overlord to send assets to Ae a lot, and this is causing a big problem in my workflow.

Estou com um problema de espaçamento entre palavras: toda vez que digito uma frase, ao dar espaço para uma nova palavra, o Illustrator junta essas palavras, deixando tudo como um único bloco. Assim, por exemplo, se eu escrevo "design gráfico", ele automaticamente corrige para "designgráfico". Alguém sabe me dizer se é um problema (bug) ou se tem alguma configuração de correção?Obrigada. 

Ever since the recent update, I get this pop-up window (screenshot attached) every time I open a file with an EMBEDDED image. It will take several minutes for the bar to fill, but if I hit “Stop” the file will open. Although working in the file, there is some lag and the pop-up window will reappear periodically. Re-saving the files can take 10X longer than normal. It's a massive time killer.  I found out what the issue is, but it doesn't make sense to me. Illustrator is trying to 'verify access' to the original file location of EMBEDDED images within the file. We recently upgraded to a new server at work. I manage hundreds of files that contain embedded images, all of which were originally created on our older server. So every time I open a file, Illustrator is trying to verify access to a non-existent location. I could see this being an issue with LINKED images, but why in the world is AI searching for a file path to images that are EMBEDDED?? Isn't that the point

I downloaded the latest version of illustrator to my macbook pro 2017 a couple of weeks ago and immediatley illustrator wouldnt launch. it would just hang on the open page 'initializing'. i then uninstalled and tried to install a previous older version of illustrator which also then wouldnt work. i tried various versions and none would launch. so i then uninstalled the lot, tried a clean up as some forums had mentioned this might work and then tried re downloading Illustrator (an older version again) to now luck. I have trief various versions, restarted multiple times and no matter what i do i cant get illustrator working 😞

I keep Illustrator up today, but it keeps shutting down the computer by heating it after one or two minutes of opening. I even can not access the creative clound to day. I am so disappointed. 

This seems like a simple issue but I can't figure out the solution. I've put .jsx files in my Presets>Scripts folder, but they don't appear there after restarting the program. When I created folders within Scripts, the folders appear, but my .jsx files never do. Only the three stock scripts appear. I know the scripts work because I've executed them by dragging them into Illustrator. Do they need to be reformatted or is there something else I need to do to get the scripts to appear from within my File menu? Thanks.

Hi! I've been using Acumin Variable Concept and have noticed at times the weight of specific letters appear differently. It seems to apply mostly two the lighter weights. Does anyone know what may cause this or how to fix it?

Hi all. I made a graph in R and exported that plot in PDF format. The colors in the PDF go beyond the "40000" mark at the bottom. However, when I opened the filed with Adobe Illustrator 2024, the graph is partially cut off (it doesn't even reach 40000). Any idea as to why this is happening? Thank you.

The offset path menu never opens. I also tried on Effects tab but nothing also happened. I redownloaded Illustrator, tried restarting pc but nothing... I double click the Offset Path section in Appearance tab but nothing pops up... This is Turkish so Ana Kontur means Offset Path. Btw, im trying to prepare an editable text with effects on. Can you all help me?  

Hi! With the new online platform for Illustrator, I'm noticing it's more simplified. I need to prepare a design for print but I can't find the crop and bleed option for export. Is this still available? If not, can we get it added back please! It's one of the top features needed for illustrator.

Can someone help me with the below image. I'm using the blend mode for this text but for some reason its creating a gradient. I just want the letters to extend without the radient. Meaning I want the grey area to blend into the dark area without a transion of color. I used to use blend mode for this purpose but now its creates this gradient. Can someone help me solve this issue? Thank you!

I am finding it very hard to believe that with all the advancements made to illustrator, Image trace hasn't been touched or improved in ages. You're telling me that illustrator can create whole vector images from a text prompt but can't accurately outline a font? proposterous. Truly incomprehensible. A scurge on the graphic design community. 

Dear Adobe Illustrator Team,I would like to submit a feature request regarding the manipulation of Bézier curve handles in Illustrator.Currently, there is no native way to extend or shorten a handle while maintaining its exact alignment on the original axis, except by using the Shift key, which only constrains angles to 45°, 90°, or 180°.Issue:When adjusting the length of a handle without changing its orientation, users must rely on workarounds (copying coordinates, using a manual guide, etc.).This makes adjustments more cumbersome and less precise than they should be.Requested Improvement:Add a feature that allows users to constrain a handle’s movement along its original axis without affecting its angle.For example, by holding a key combination like Alt + Shift, or by adding a constraint option in advanced settings.This enhancement would provide increased precision for curve manipulation and significantly improve the user experience.Thank you for your consideration and for your excell

This has been happening for several versions of Illustrator, but after working in a file for a while, my zoom tool will suddenly show the Selection tool black arrow icon instead of the magnifying glass icon.I'm currently running Mac OSX 13.6, and Illustrator Version 28.As I said this has been happening for several versions, over the last year. If I quit Illustrator and then restart it, it's fine again for a while, and then it will suddenly revert to this behavior.Any ideas about a fix for this? Has anyone else seen this happen?

Everytime I'm exporting a drawing from Illustrator with a transparent background I get white border around the drawing. I think I tried every solution I found online, but it's not working. The artboard is 2048x2048 and I'm exporting at 72ppi with Supersampling selected. I also alligned the artwork to the pixel grid with total numbers only. I even tried exporting from Photoshop, but without loosing a lot of quality I can't get rid of the white borders.  The following two images show the drawing in Illustrator and the image when imported onto another image.  Anyone have some new suggestions on how to fix this?
