Hi everyone. I'm an experienced Photoshop and Indesign user still learning about Illustrator. I do still struggle and will often watch YouTube "how-to" tutorials.  I am trying to create a design for a vintage tee. I have almost achieved this however my lack of experience in masks and path knock-outs has me falling just short. I can't seem to get the mask to fully cut out the underlying objects. There seems to be a slight opacity showing through. See attached screenshots. Circled in green is what shows me that the areas will print in white rather than be transparent.  I am wanting the white dots, scratched areas to be transparent and not print, therefore having the tee fabric showing through after printed/pressed. Apologies if I'm not writing the correct terminology to explain things. Thanks in advance to all that have a helpful response, Tania   

Before you criticize my design, please don't, my client had a vision. So I am trying to reduce the arc to where the bottom of the lightning bolts are at around half of the circle. Is there an easy way to fix this with ruining the arc and bolts? 

No puedo imprimir desde Illustrator, queda enviando el archivo a la impresora. Desde Photoshop se puede imprimir perfectamente. Ya he reinstalado Illustrator pero sigue con el mismo fallo. Si a alguien le pasó, espero me puedan ayudar! Muchas Gracias!

Se recuperaron archivos y no los abre, me sale este recuadro pero no recupera nada, ya reinicie mi macbook y sigue saliendo

Hello,I have an existing PDF that I have opened in Illustrator. I have managed to ungroup all objects so I can select a sentence. But I cannot find out the font, text size or if the text is bold. Please see the attached image. The sign holds two columns of text - one seems to be bold, the other is not. I have selected a sentence (as marked by the blue area), but I find no field in Illustrator that indicates what the font, boldness or text size is.Any tips would be appreciated!

i am not able TO DRAG AND DROP FROM PHOTOSHOP TO ILLUSTRATOR but from illustrtor to photoshop yes , it used to work now it doesnt how can i fix this ?

I’ve been trying for several days to apply shear to text using ExtendScript, but I haven’t been able to get any results. In the GUI, I simply change the value to 7, and that’s it. However, I can’t find a way to do it in the code. This is the property that I want to use with ExtendScript  

Key combination doesn't work shift+alt. Separately shift+mouse and alt+mouse works. I have Windows 10. There are no utilities or anything else that could affect this. The situation is the same in Photoshop. The keyboard settings in Illustrator have been changed. Editing - Keyboard shortcut - Program menu - Object - Transform, there are no hotkeys for this command. If I try to fit them there, then only the letters from the keyboard shift, alt, ctrl do not fit. I restarted the programs and rebooted the computer. Nothing helps. What to do?

Hi all, I am relativly new to illustrator so maybe im missing something obvious in the file saving settings,  but my work consists of importing a architectural drawings as pdfs, and adding various layers for different layers. The issue i keep running into is whenver i save my i file as a copy pdf it messes up the original ai file by flattening all the layers i have added hile also placing them on top of the drawing for a second time. is there a way to avoid this? i keep getting various messeges pop up about linked file changes when opeing the files to see these issues. I am saing my files on a shared google drivebut i am the only person working on the files. My thought process was to save the file im working on as the ai file and when im finished the first revisioon i will save a copy as a pdf for markup, but when returning to the ai file to edit after the first revision that is when the issue occurs. any advice is appreciated, thanks!

Hello folks,In a recent post (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator/script-insert-text-number-in-the-middle-of-visible-bounds-of-the-each-object/td-p/8088914/page/5?page=1) I was reading on the following matter: the author uploaded a script that groups filled paths by color for paintings by numbers. However, when I tried to apply it to my Illustrator, it didn't work. Instead of showing different numbers in each field, I only get one and the same number. I would appreciate it if someone could help me with a new, working script. I am also willing to pay for one. Cheers.

Hi, anyone had AIMonitor app appear in the dock? When i click show in finder it is in Adobe Illustrator contents folder. Is this OK?

I am trying to validate my RegEx GREP search match in the following way: Match results in the string (TEST)The word TEST starts the pattern (^TEST) but a white space (\s) is required for any other character to follow.  Valid strings:TESTTEST 123TEST abc Invalid strings:TEST1TESTa Looking for a method where the pattern match returns the string (TEST) and not (TEST ) with the white space included. At the same time the match needs to fail if any character other than the white space immediatly follows TEST.

Hello!  In the new update of the New illustrator cc 2020 versions, the Text Direction feature been removed, that supports the Arabic language! any idea's on how to activate this feature? Having said that it's still working in the 2019 version. Text Direction feature is quite helpful when writing in both English and Arabic text in the same paragraph.  

If I try to cut and paste live type within a document in Illustrator, it does not keep the information such as the font size and the font name, or the position if I am pasting in place. If I try to cut and paste live type with a vector object selected, the vector object disappears and the text is pasted as a generic font. When I cut and paste between one document and another, spot colors turn to 4/c. Layer names disappear even though Paste Remembers Layers is checked. I have deleted illustrator 2 times and reloaded. Each time I restarted after uploading The second time I chose to delete all preferences. Any ideas as to what is going on?{Renamed by MOD}

Hi, I've been having issues with my illustrator over the last few months. When I open a vector file that has outlined text, the text is horribly distorted. This happens with .svg, .ai and .eps files. Every time the file is opened, it distorts differently. (See example below)My illustrator and mac are both updated.

I tried different ways of using Blend mode in AI to recreate it but I haven't been able to get the angle and the line widths correctly. No Illustrator e no Photoshop, porém, essas teclas não podem ser personalizadas da mesma forma, o que torna a adaptação mais difícil para quem está acostumado com a lógica do Corel.Minha sugestão para a Adobe é que essas teclas sejam liberadas para personalização nativa dentro do Illustrator ou que seja disponibilizado um plugin que permita configurar atalhos de maneira mais flexível. Hola! Quiero guardar mi archivo con la opción Guardar Como, pero me sale la pantalla negra. Por ende, me toca guardar con la opción de "Guardar como copia" y no puedo hacer más.  Por favor, si alguien me puede ayudar. Ya desinstalar e instalé de nuevo y persiste el error.  Tengo una Omen con RAM de 32gb, NVIDIA RTX 2070 con Windows 11 y procesador de Intel Core i7.  Gracias!  

I have a circle with a black stroke and a rectangle with a black stroke that I'm using as a mask.Using the Transparency tab I've been able to mostly get what I'm looking for with those two slices where they intersect to be cut out, but why is there that slight gray where I want it to be completely zero'd out?Everything is at Opacity 100%. Is this a bug? Is there something about the Transparency tab that I'm just not understanding? I was hoping to still have the rectangle be movable so I can change the size or location of the part that is masked, otherwise I'd simply using Pathfinder. Any advice?

Hello Adobe community, I need to modify a figure  (a genomic region) in a pdf file using the illustrator. The file is 2.1 MB. When I open it in illustrator, I miss some part of the figure.  Is there any way to fix this problem? Thank you.

My gotham font is installed on my mac but wont display in illustrator, it appears as a missing font. I've done the whole turn it on and off again thing. It was working on my 2023 illustrator version but when i updated to the 2025 version it stopped working. Nothing is wrong with the font, its been licensed and validated.I've unintalled and re-installed 

A moment ago I opened in Illustrator 1 of 4 files stored in the cloud, and when I opened it, I saw for a moment that before opening, it disappeared from the containing folder and then it showed it in the application, but when I returned to the folder, it was gone! and the same happened with the other 3 files, all stored in the cloud... they have disappeared! and it has not placed them outside or “somewhere”... What's wrong? This has never happened to me before... and they are work files.... I closed the application and reopened it and they are not in the folder, or out of the folder. It is Illustrator 29.2.1Mac Sonoma 14.7.3 (23H417)

I've just been using objects with drop shadows (added in, in Illustrator) to a PSD. Usually the bounding box is just the edge of the image, but for some reason its now at the edge of the drop shadow. This is annoying. How can I get it back so the bounding box is just to the edge of the image?  I had to take an image with my iPhone as the bounding box lines dissappear when taking a screenshot.
