Hi all,Recently I noticed two things when i use illustrator:1. While I am in the program and having just saved my work, a few minutes later a few duplicated files would appear in the trash bin, with suffix of 2,3,4... 2. After I have used illustrator and shut down my computer. The next day when I turn it on, a recovery file folder would appear in the trash bin.  I found a reddit thread dated 2 years ago regarding the second issue, but it led to no solid solutions other than just deleting the files.  Has anyone else experienced this? These two things started just recently for me. I have ios Sequoia 15.3, and Illustrator 29.2.1

Out of nowhere all of my dashed lines now contain a solid line running through them despite having no fill. Even going to create a dashed line, you cannot see the dashes unless turning up the stroke weight because the dashes are hidden behind the "ghost" line.

There is no number 5 on the Artboards and there are two 7s

I have been using the middle mouse button (scroll wheel) to click/hold and be able to pan throughout the workspace, for as long as I can remember (same function as holding the keyboard down and panning the workspace). I accidentally hit a combination of keys today which leads me to think I disabled something and now the middle button is no longer allowing me to pan throughout the canvas. I looked in settings and only see the zoom options, tried searching online and no helpful answers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!-Jay

There is an issue with Adobe apps while using Mac M1 with an external monitor. When put in sleep, the windows and palettes move to the bottom half of the screen. There are comments on this thread that confirmthis is an issue with specifically Adobe apps(illustrator, photoshop and indesign at least): https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/window-and-panels-moving-when-mac-goes-to-sleep/m-p/13087528#M329431 please, Adobe support, address this issue.

I have a client's logo, (not designed by me) that we are changing a little. HOWEVER the shapes I can SEE in color have no color in the swatches OR in the layers. As you can see below (first image), I've selected the light turquoise shape. But in color swatches (and in layers) it has no color. This is true of anything in color. If I select the black outline (second image) it reads as black, as it should. If I delete it (third image) It takes the black shape and also the dark turquoise shape. I don't see any masks or compound paths. This is making me wild.I just want to be able to select the "colored" shapes. We want to change his mask a little and maybe change the colors for a specific event. Thanks for any insight or advise. 

Hello,Noob question but I cannot figure out how to do this. I want to angle the bottom of a word, and the top of another, so they have a similar treatment like the example here. I thought arc'ing would do it, however I can only get it to arc both the top and bottom of each word. Not just one side. I have tried to figure this out for far too long... can anyone suggest the right way to achieve something like this?Thanks! 

Hey everyone, I'm curious if anyone has found a work around from having an illustrator file go into adobe fresco? I know and have used them in the other order. I have a layout of text and want to draw around it- shouldn't I be able to bring the file back into fresco without a problem? 

My workflow has now completely come to a stop. I have tried everything from uninstalling/reinstalling illustrator. Resetting all preferences. Purging all discs, running the app with nothing in the background, and Illustrator runs out of ram immediately when performing simple tasks. I'm beyond frustrated and mad.

I'm looking for a script that creates a new layer and already sets the color to Light Blue, but that keeps the Light Blue option and doesn't simulate it with Custom. 

Hi everybody, I recently watched a tutorial in it that went to some option/selection and made three stacked lines of text justified vertically like a cube with ven spacing. Can anybody tell/point me in the direction of how that's done? Or know of a tutorial? Been searching everywhere and can't seem to repeat it. Thanks for reading. 

Hi everybody, I know this is probably asking a lot, but is there a way to cut through an extruded 3D/isometric cube object with something like a knife tool?  Cinema 4D has the ability to do that. I know that's an incredible stretch from this environment but was wondering if there's something similar that can cut off the corner of a cube or something that can create object seperation or segmentation.  As always, thanks for reading. 🙂

Earlier, I posted in the CC Libraries four,m and it was suggested I post here:(After I posted this, I noticed that my Photoshop library items showed up when added. It seems to be AI that has the issue. I haven't tried any other Adobe apps.) When I create a new library and place a PNG in it, I notice that it shows as the CC logo instead of a preview of the item.  I tried creating a different library, but the same thing happened,  and when I placed the new item in an older library, the same thing happened. Complex items (layers, etc.) are also shown in the CC logo.  I have searched this forum and tried the suggested solutions to enable previews of my library items but to no avail. This is an ongoing issue, as there are multiple posts with the same issue going back to 2022 (maybe further).  The first I noticed this was yesterday. I haven't added items to my library in a couple of days, but it was working previously.  I ran the cleaner, stopped

Hi everybody, I've gone to Preferences > Selection and Anchor Display...8 px width tolerance is just not enough. I'm having to still click bezier handles 3-4 times everytime I want to click.  Is there an alternative option or plugin available that can allow me to make the tolerance setting like...20px?

Looking to Extend a patch without having to purchase Astute Buddy

I'm suddenly having an unexplainable issue trying to create a pattern swatch in Illustrator. I have the invisible box on the lower layer, et al, but when I select all and drag it to my swatches panel the swatch appears with a lot of white surrounding a teeny tiny swatch in the middle (not repeating). When I try to then use the failed swatch the shape just appears empty. I can't figure out what's going wrong! Would anyone mind taking a look at the file and trying to see what the issue might be? Hi all -I'm trying to edit the pink stroke on this object, but the Color palette shows that no stroke is applied. How do I make this pink stroke editable?   

I'm trying to figure out how to read the XMP Title of a document, and compare it to the file name. I keep coming up empty on google, and their AI is recommending a function that doesn't exist as per usual.From what I'm seeing in the scripting documents, there is only:app.activeDocument.XMPStringHow do I just parse out the title? I keep getting results for Photoshop and InDesign, but those functions don't appear to cross over into Illustrator.<dc:title> <rdf:Alt> <rdf:li xml:lang="x-default">Untitled-2</rdf:li> </rdf:Alt> </dc:title> 

Hi - I'm very new to illustrator.  I've navigated placing my image (originally procreate) into illustrator, embedding it, and image tracing it with 'ignore white' ticked on to retain the transparency.  However, I've come across an issue in that as some parts of my design are white, these are now been 'ignored' too so I now have transparent areas within my design.  I don't really wish to have to re-touch up a design with white in and use a different colour?  I am confused as to why an image with a totally transparent background yet white in it (it all looked great when i did ctrl-shft-D) defaults to one with a white background if you don't have the ignore white ticked. Any advice appreciated.  Thank you.

Hello,I'm having an issue with my colors. And no, it's not a color management skill issue. My original file displays the colors I used. When I duplicate the same file, my colors suddenly change. They go from vibrant to dull. I made sure my colors were correct. Same RGB/HEX values. Both files are set to RGB. What kind of sorcery is this, Adobe? I haven't tried to export. I'm hoping the colors look the same. Regardless, this issue is annoying. Please see the images below. Same color, same RGB/HEX, set to RGB. All I want is for the colors to match. AGAIN, it's not a color management skill issue. It's an Adobe issue. Let me know what's going on here. Thank you,Unhappy Adobe Subscriber 

How Do I add Decimal Points in Illustrator 2025 Document Setup? A client needs a document size of 3.625 inches wide. I don't know how to add the third decimal point to the document in order to achieve this, and end up having to choose between 3.62 and 3.63 in document size. 

Adobe seems to be settling on Ctrl+Cmd+H to Hide applications on Mac (Photoshop, After Effects). Illustrator still has no default shortcut for this, but worse, we cannot use the Mac Ctrl key for any (?) shortcuts in Illustrator. This doesn't make sense to the user. Muscle memory for common actions like hiding should be respected and universalized across apps.

Illustrator freezes when the battery on my MacOS laptop gets low. However, it freezes in such a way that MacOS doesn't realize that the app is frozen. I have to go into Force Quit Applications and quit it manually. It's so annoying, I lose work all the time and I got so many "recovered" files on my laptop now it's insane...
