I have a Windows 11 PC and Epson ET-8550. When I print from Photoshop, I get the best results when I let the printer manage colors and the assigned color profile is Adobe RGB (1998). In Illustrator, it will not let me choose to have the printer manage the colors. Is it possible let printer determine colors in illustrator if you don't have a postscript printer?

I have been having an issue of late that comes and goes depending on the file and I can't seem to get to the root of it.I open a file with a symbol in it and make a change to said symbol. However, when i click out it does not update the symbol. Any change I made does not update. I do this over and over again. I've closed out the file and rebooted Illustrator but still it continues to not update. I've only had this issue since updating to CC 2018. I've tried changing it from Dynamic to Static and no change, from Graphic to Movie Clip no change. I use these all the time and just since the update I've had this issue.

Please refer to the attached video. This is most consistant with the Zoom tool but it's happening sporatically with all active tool icons not displaying correctly.

Hi everybody, I am struggling on what I thought it was a simple task. I need to be able to pick a brush and apply it to a stroke. In the particular case I need to be a repeated pattern. I am in the dark at the moment. I have managed to do it from the GUI but I am not able to get almost anything working.Summarizing I need to:- create a pattern from group of paths (the same I would do in the GUI as showed in the images below)        - apply this pattern brush to a path- (optional) save this brush into a brush file I think AIBeautifulStrokes is the key to get this done but I cannot make it work. In Visual Studio Code in the jsx file on all lines where #include is used, it gives a problem and suggests using ‘;’ at the end of the line.What is causing this to happen? 

say i already made a character style and applied it all over my document, but i want to set a field back to ignore like Leading or Size. Once the field is set how do I unset it? 

Hello everyone,I have a somewhat complicated problem. I am working on a large profile project that contains many details and high-quality images, which has made the file size reach 16 GB. Now, I can’t save the file at all. Every time I try to save, the program freezes indefinitely, and in other cases, my PC shuts down, forcing me to start over again. I realy need help Is there any solution to this issue? Here is a screenshot from the Task Manager during the saving process.Sometimes, memory usage reaches 50% and then drops again, but in all cases, the program remains unresponsive for hours and hours.  

I'm struggling to come up with the correct syntax for doing something fairly simple.  Basically I want to find a named spot color swatch. If it's found I have other programming I'd like to run (I have working code) If it does not find the swatch, then just carry on. if swatch "Blue" exists (a spot color) do this else do nothing and carry on with rest of script endifThanks for any help.

Hi all, I'm currently working thru the "Create a typographic logo" tutorial. It's asking me to select the "Selection Tool" on a rectangle and to drag one of the "Live Corner Widgets - the double circles" toward the center to round all the corners into an oval shape. However, when I click on the rectangle, I only see the 4 anchors (screenshot attached). I don't see the double circles to create an oval. Help please! Thanks - really appreciate it!   

I've been having a hard time creating a gradient that acts like a radial gradient (going inside out) but instead of the gradient having a radial shape, the gradient shape mirrors/respect the edges of whatever shape it applies itself to. (In this case, this curly brace shape. I want the inside to be white, progressively becoming black as it approaches the edges, just like with the circle above it) I've been trying with the blend tool, but I was wondering if there was a better/more efficient way to do this as even with it it I'm struggling to make it respect the edges correctly. Thank you for your help.

All PDFs that I extract from Revit and open in Illustrator show text as box symbols that are not editable. Text shows in this way even though I have the fonts that are in the file. I have tried re-importing/downloading each font but I haven't had luck.

Hi.. I have an Illustrator file that opens fine on my Mac, but on Win, it seems a font is missing. Both machines have the latest update of Illustrator. When I try using that same font in a new document on the Win it appears  strangely... however, on the Mac, it works as expected.It's this font: https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts/poster-cut-neue I've added/removed while on the Win machine to no avail. You can see the result in screen caputres below... the left image is how the file should look (this is preview in Createive Cloud files).. however, when opening the file on my Win machine, it is as on the right (some of the missing text is circled in Red and Blue circles... ).  The blue circle you can see I selected the empty text, and when selected, is showing some sort of placeholder. Further, if I open/re-save the file on the Win machine, the preview in Creative Cloud Files is missing the text, but if I open/re-save on the Mac, the preview is correct again.

Would be great if Packaging to into account all linked AI and PSD files and made sure those files and their links were included. So when I create an AI file that links in another AI the links for that file are also included, or if a PSD is linked the links in that PSD are also included!!!!!!!!!

Hi,I'm having this issue for a long time and I decided to look for help now. In Both Illustrator and Photoshop, my keyboard layout is not being recognized. Instead, both software recognize my keyboard layout as being US default, and mey shortcuts are a mess... My Windows 10 configuration is correct, I believe. I run a version of Windows that is in English, but my keyboard is configured to Brazilian Portuguese ABNT2. I have no other layouts in my list, so I don't believe this is the case where the OS is switching layouts by itself, because there really isn't any other layout installed but the one I mentioned (Brazilian Portuguese ABNT2). However, In Illustrator - or Photoshop -, it is as though my keyboard layout was American and the shortcuts work according to that layout, which is driving me nuts! Does anyone know how to fix this, please? Is there anyone to tell Illustrator what keyboard layout I have and /or want to use?Thanks all!

I'm a designer in Japan with native English and I work on multilingual translations sometimes with other translators. I'm responsible for compiling all the files. Right now I'm having a terrible time with the Thai file, as the diacritics aren't aligning properly and I don't know why. I have the text box language set to Thai and "Show East-Indian Preferences" is ticked in Preferences > Type.  I'm not sure what else to do from here. I already had to send one document where I painstakingly edited spacing character by character. Surely there's  a better way! All Thai fonts produce the same results, but I'm using Browallia New. My Illustrator is up to date, I'm running Windows 11. Any help is appreciated.  "World ready" or whatever isn't something I've been able to find thus far. Thanks in advance!    

When I turn "Smart Guides" off, selecting objects becomes harder. I have to click on the precise path to be able to select them. And when I hover the cursor on top of the object, it doesn't get highlighted to indicate that it can be selected. I don't understand the relation of "Smart Guides" to this behaviour, so I believe is either a bug or a oversight.  This is a problem because, with "Smart Guides" on, you can click near a path os object to select it, but with them off, you have to click precisely on the object. And the hover highlight bevaves differently, wich is a bad user experience.

?? would like to posit an idea that would be Adobe software wide... is there one?

Hi all! I've discovered this great blob effect in Illustrator but I'm having trouble understanding how it actually works. Does anyone understand this?Here is how you get the effect: Create two (or more) shapesSelect them all and create compound pathApply offset path effect (Effects > Path > Offset Path> Use a positive number, change "Joins" to Round)Apply offset path effect again, all the same settings but with a negative number this time I uploaded a quick video here as well.  Thanks in advance!

Acabei de instalar o AI 2025  e o Illustrator fica piscando sempre que a tela volta do descanço. Vi que em 2022 algumas pessoas já tiveram esse problema mas não achei solução. a Algumas informações para análise: Meu computador é um Mac Mini - Apple M4 Pro - Sequoia 15.1Ele pisca somente quando movimento o mouse (uso usa tablet wacom)Pisca somente o plano de trabalho (ferramentas e cabeçalho não)Nos outros programas como PS, LR... não acontece isso. Quando fecho e abro o AI novamente ele para, mas tem que ficar fechando e abrindo toda vez que restaura a tela.Fiz um vídeo mas não consigo subir ele aqui no chat.

Hello,I updated my Illustrator to the 2025 version and I noticed that the line extension feature is not working.My smart guides are turned on.It is really frustrating because it is one of the most important features when working with paths in my opionion. I hope this issue will be fixes soon!

Já faz um tempo que estou tendo o seguinte problema, começo a trabalhar no arquivo do Illustrator e meu monitor começa a piscar quando realizo ações simples, até mesmo só de mexer o mouse. Isso acontece somente com o Illustrator, tenho jogos pesados instalados e o problema não ocorre. Eu tenho uma placa de vídeo 1050 GTX.

Hey there, is there anyway I can add small dots in the corner of my squares/rectangles without having to create another shape on the top, so it does automatically? Pleasee images for referece. Thanks! 

Illustrator Version 29.1Wondering if anyone is experiencing any issues where the font reverts back to previous font when making any text changes. I'm hoping this will fix itself in the next update. This issue has only occured since the last update in November '24. Any suggestion?
