Hi, I'm using Adobe Illustrator to design digital stickers to sell on sites like Etsy. I want to have the stickers appear on a fixed template, but have each sticker removable. THe stickers should be as pngs. I can't figure out how to export my design so it doesn't flatten out (i.e. the individual stickers are not movable or copyable) or how to export it so that the complete sheet remains visually intact with the template behind the stickers. I have access to other programs if that will make a difference.  As an example, on the image below, the umbrella should be able to be moved off the template below. Thanks for letting me know how to do this.  

For this test I created a rectangle using the shapes tool. Even at full screen resolution you can see that 3 of the 4 sides, excluding the bottom right side, have anomalies. The other images show an enlargement of the individual sides.This problem interferes with precision positioning when multiple objects intersect.How can I fix this?       

When I select the top layer and release to layers - I can't drag the layers outside of the group. I'm trying to import to After Effects, but it imports as one illustrator file.  I can't attached the Illustrator file - I get error: The attachment's shapeuse.ai content type (application/postscript) does not match its file extension and has been removed. I used to be able to resize one object relative to the size of another, but now it doesn’t work. I’ve searched everywhere, but I don’t even know what to Google or how to phrase the question. I’m sure there’s a setting I need to enable or disable, but I just can’t find itPlease, help me! 😞

Greetings,I'm opening a DXF fill at full scale (1:1) that is an irregular shape. I need to be able to treat the irregular shape as a normal shape like you would when you use the "Rectangle" or "Ellipse" tools and be able to do a simple Offset Path, to be able to scale the shape by a specific offset value. The only way I can get this to work is doing the following 7 step process once the dxf is opened. Is there a quicker way to offset a compound path in one direction only? I updated my Illustrator to version 29.1 and have not been able to export any SVGs. I just constantly get an error when trying to export. Anyone else having this issue? Any ways to troubleshoot this... 

when i use the grid repeat tool my illustrator keeps crashing after every minute. it's working fine with the mirror and radial repeat tool. 

Hi, I’d like to know how to manually add Kashida in Arabic text in the latest version of Illustrator. In older versions, it was done using Shift+J, but that doesn’t seem to work anymore. 

HiI'm just learning to use Illustrator, and when I open a new file there is always a white square in the background. The delete button won't work to remove it. Can someone advise how to get rid of this? I imagine this is very basic, but I'm only a couple of hours into learning.

Creí que había sido un error mío, pero hoy me vuelve a suceder en illustrator: desaparecieron todos los vectores blancos de mi composición y no aparecen en capas tampoco. Simplemente desaparecen y ya quedó guardado así el archivo.

Illustrator 29.1 lags in almost every tool , I downgraded to 28.3 version, works smooth and fast.Anyone having the same problem?

Hello, everyone. I am familiar with scripts, but I don't have a deep understanding of js.I need help with the following:- I have an artboard with some objects (all groups);- I need to fill the empty spaces on the artboard with other objects, for example, they could be rectangles measuring 5cm by 3.7598cm (but the future idea is to fill them with other files that have objects with the same dimensions);- This filling needs to take into account the best distribution of the objects, so that they do not overlap and that they follow a spacing of 3mm; - These rectangles can be rotated 90 and 180 degrees (as the script considers the best arrangement).- This 3mm spacing needs to be between the objects;- There is no need for spacing between the rectangles and the artboard limits.- The challenge is to calculate the area and calculate the possible arrangements to fill with the rectangles;- The best arrangement is not crucial for me, the important thing is just to fill to avoid so many empty spaces

Everytime I launch Illustrator 2024, the welcome screen is blank, without text or boxes.It is the first time launch, so I guess I am supposed to check item (terms and license etc) but dialogue box is blank.Closing the box, results in Illustrator crashing out. I attached an image to visually represent my challenge.Thanks in advance.

I have to install new swatch pallete "Artista textile colour collection" in illustrator but when I follow the instructions; I go to swatches library-other library-swatches-color books-I find the file ,click open and nothing happens. I can't find it anywhere Does somebody know what I can try, my colleague had no such issues, she is using windows and I'm on mac so maybe that is causing problems.

I am experiencing an issue when saving SVG files from Adobe Illustrator that contain editable text in Unicode fonts.The text appears perfectly fine within Adobe Illustrator while designing and previewing. However, once I save the file as an SVG and reopen it (either in Illustrator or any other SVG viewer), the text appears reversed.For example:The original text مدعا علیہ in Illustrator appears as ہیلع اعدم in the saved SVG file.Similarly, مدعی becomes یعدم. I'm using Tiny 1.2 SVG profile and using a Unicode "Mehr Nastaliq Web" font that supports Urdu script.Request for Help:Could this be an issue with how Illustrator handles right-to-left (RTL) scripts when exporting SVG files? Is there a workaround or specific settings I should use to ensure the text does not reverse in the SVG output?Thank you for your assistance.

Hi,I have the following problem: We are still working with Illustrator CS6 for our laser cutters. For the past few days, the Ctrl+P transfer to the UCP driver of the laser cutter has not been working as it should. All RGB lines are now only output in black. We are using an Illustrator template, which is not the issue since it works on our second laser cutter. So the problem must be somewhere in the interface. Unfortunately, it has been impossible for us to find the error so far.Best wishesSonja 

I've been using the default Action to remove fluff (unused swatches, symbols, brushes, etc.) but it has a funny quirk. I have a spot black color (named black) that always escapes the purge, even if it not used in the document. It is not set as the default stroke/fill, and there are no styles that use this swatch. Even if I run the Action twice the swatch remains. Even if I rename the swatch to something other than black it remains. Even if I rename the swatch and give it a different CMYK mix it remains. As a kludge, I've been using a combo of the default action and John Wundes' Delete Fluff script to get everything, but it is not an ideal solution. Wundes' script, which is unable to delete used brushes, roots out the offending swatch. It is unable to delete unused brushes, so following up with the default action clears those out. Also, Wundes' script is very slow and will often beach-ball the application, requiring a force-quit occasionally.Two questions:============Can anyone think of

Because I'm unable to invoke the "Select All Unused" menu item of the Swatches panel menu I'm trying to attack it programmatically.What I'm trying to determine is if it's sufficient to compare the Fill and Stroke Color of each Path Item (every path item of current document) or are there other items that should be examined to achieve the same results as the command in the Swatches panel menu? Page Items doesn't appear to contain a Fill Color property. I've got AppleScript code that appears to do the trick, but I'd like to get input so as to make sure I'm not missing something that my testing might not have uncovered.Thanks!Stephan

In the screenshot where the green rectangle appears, can be seen that an artistic brush belonging to the Watercolor group was applied to the profile of this figure, but, it is not detected in the properties panel, and I tried to get that tab from any of the 3 points of the same panel, but it is not available, and in the upper panel, in Brush Definition, it is not recognized either, but, as it can be visually verified, it is applied to the rectangle... Now I need to modify it, but I cannot modify something that only exists visually, but it is not detected... The other screenshot shows a pink rectangle, to which a brush from the same group was also applied, and it is recognized in several parts of the interface. So: Was the file corrupted? If so, why could this have happened, and is there anything that can be done to “uncorrupt” it?  Or... is it a configuration matter so that it shows the brush it certainly has applied, so that it recognizes it? I attach bot
