See Video to understand the issue.Like, are we for real? This is the professional app we’re paying for every month? This is the quality I have to work with?Adobe has lost its path. Can’t even use absolutely basic features anymore. Quality is steadily declining.And don’t blame me for posting this in this forum. I googled and tried to find a working bug report link, which is nonexistent or hidden. This is so utterly untrustworthy, it’s not even funny.

We had talked about this before. I am puzzled by the behaviour of Illustrator.Say I have a 1in line with a 1pt stroke at 90deg. I apply Transform FX in which I change three entries: rotate set to 10 deg, copies set to 30, and reference point set to middle bottom. First, I place the Transform FX below Stroke and Fill for the line. Then I move Transform FX above Stroke and Fill. I notice a position change in the result on the artboard. Why?This is for CS4 but I guess it applies to any edition.PS: Not that I expect Monika to chime in, but I do!  😉 

Usually when I place an Ai file into another Ai file it acts like it should: If I make changes to the original, when I go back to the file it’s placed in, it asks if I want to update it. Just now, I placed an Ai file into another Ai file, and instead of placing it, it pasted the artboard from the placed file so that it’s editable in the file it’s been placed into. WHAT?? Is this something new? The backstory is that I’m putting together a presentation of creative concepts to present to a client. The creative is placed into the presentation document multiple times, hence my having one creative development file to edit that automatically updates multiple instances in the presentation doc.  

Two weeks ago, I didn’t have this problem, but now every time I login to my Illustrator account, it’s telling me I don’t have access to my files because I’m not the owner. This is a personal account, with only me and I only have the one account. None of the work arounds are fixing it - I’ve deleted keychain access certificates, I’ve allowed full disc access. Just frustrated and furious that I can’t work on my own files!

I’m having an issue with Illustrator where perhaps 1 in every 10 times I press ‘print’ it crashes and closes illustrator. I’m using this in a commercial print workshop so can have it crash 3-4 times a day.I’m printing to two “virtual printers” on a network and it happens on both printers.It’s always immediately after pressing print on the print dialog.It happens across multiple files and can happen when illustrator is the only open app and only one file is open.It occurs on all file sizes. I’ve tried a complete re-install and updating illustrator and updating Mac OS.I’m running on an Intel Mac mini with 16gb RAMI don’t seem to have the issue with inDesign. If anyone could suggest a solution that would be hugely appreciated!!

 When I first open Illustrator, my library works fine. After a certain amount of time, it becomes a static image where I can't click on anything and when I resize the panel, it just elongates or skews the panel like it is an image. This is not true of any other items in my tools. The only way to fix it is to fully quit Illustrator and reopen. It was just happening in Illustrator, but recently has started happening to my InDesign as well.

Since I have done the latest Illustrator update, sometimes when I go to move an object with the selection tool, holding shift to keep the object level, the object won't move where I want it to. A green circle with a plus sign in the middle of it appears, and the object jumps all over the screen or jumps back to where it was, and makes a sound. It is very frustrating. It isn't a snapping issue. I have never had this problem until recently.

Hello, We have $7k worth of plugins from a third party, which never expire; however, they only work with Illustrator 28.  Adobe Creative Cloud no longer offers versions prior 29.  How can we get this older version? Thanks, Vincent

What is going on. with Ilustrator? I'm on the latest version of Illustrator and the Mac OS, on a barnd new M4 Mac MIni and apparantly Illustrator is using 149GB of memory! This is happening all the time. Does anyone know what I can do about this? 

Hi all, two days ago my Illustrator started crashing nonstop and I have not been able to resolve it. I have tried tech support for my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling the program, reverting back to a previous version, using Creative Cloud Cleaner, resetting preferences and just about every possible fix I have found online and I am at such a loss. This is happening with files of any size. It crashes if I place or edit the size of a shape, edit text, copy and paste things, move around the toolbars to accommodate my workflow. It basically crashes after I try doing anything in any size file, both new and old files. Sometimes I’ll get an error message saying it needs to close and sometimes it just freezes and closes. Sometimes it lets me work for ten minutes tops before crashing again. It’s completely unusable. I work with an Asus Proart and Windows if that’s any help, so it’s not an issue of the system not meeting the requirements since the laptop is quite literally made to handle d

Sorry, I’ve had enough of this situation. I’ve been working with all kinds of Adobe programs for years, and I’ve never experienced anything like this. Ever since I updated my Mac to macOS Tahoe 26, everything has been running terribly.I’ve spent months trying to deal with this problem and I still can’t find a solution. I’ve made sure my Mac is clean, fully updated, with enough memory and storage. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled EVERY single program three or four times, completely removing preferences, plugins, and settings. All of it has been pointless.Adobe Illustrator takes more than 10 minutes just to open and is extremely unstable. It crashes and freezes in EVERY SESSION, making it impossible to maintain any kind of consistent workflow. I’m a graphic designer, this is how I make a living, and I need the software I pay for every month to actually work.I expect a solution as soon as possible.

My current default type tool is set to the Area Type tool instead of the standard T type tool. How do I change this? Windows 10, Adobe 2019.

My knife tool works when I cut shapes i created; but I used the clipping mask on a photo and now i want to trim it with the knife but the strokes do not appear.

With the direct selection tool (white arrrow) moving over an anchor they show up, but even if the anchor is selected the anchor blue box disappears as soon as the mouse moves away, so its impossible to select a handle.  I can still move an anchor, but its hard to select two anchors to joint the paths etc., sort of like driving blind.  If I click on a path, then hold down the command key, the hollow box anchors show up and the cursor changes into the selection tool.  The hollow boxes show up on selecting using the selection tool (black arrow).  I am pretty direct selection tool was working correctly last week (am an occasional user).I've know the difference between the select tool, direct selection tool, and group selection tool.   I think this happened a year ago and deleting a preference file helped.  I, quit illustrator,  deleted "com.adobe.illustrator.plist" in my user library, and tried again.  that didn't help.

When saving files in Illustrator I'm getting random folders with jumbled letters that appear on my desktop with ".aishm"  What is this and how can it be stopped?

I am on a time limit with a project I have been working on. For some reason, the trim view is completely greyed out when I select any layer on my artboard. Does anyone have any idea how to fix that so I can use trim view?

I have always kept “Auto Update” disabled in the CC app.Since 30.3 was released, Illustrator keeps auto updating. I need it to remain on 30.2.1 due to conflicts with my font manager. Why and how is my Illustrator updating automatically when my settings say otherwise?

I am using Illustrator 30.3. When I open my file it lets me edit and move text and images for about 3 minutes and then it just stops letting me. After that happens, I can only move texts and images using the transform window. As soon as I click using the type button it lays the font down immediatly and doesnt let me click and scroll to change size. Not sure how to capture an image of this but ill just add one.  This is awful. Please help me.  

Hello everyone, We've been experiencing the following two problems with Adobe Illustrator for some time now. After saving and reopening the document, some of the color values have changed in isolated areas. This isn't just 1-2% in black, but sometimes 10-15% in all colors (C, M, Y, K). Even after adjusting the colors in the document again, this problem keeps recurring after saving, closing and reopening the same document.When we create transparency masks for certain jobs and save and reopen the file, they are completely destroyed (i.e., text converted to paths, other vector graphics, or even linked graphics are deleted from the mask, and, for example, only a circle is inserted) or the mask is moved to a completely different position. When using freeform gradients the dither checkbox seems missing. Is this a bug or a missing feature?
