Is there an easy way to creaet a dropped capital in a text box?Also, I would like to know how I would make that first letter a different color. Thanks as always in advance!

Hey all! I made a large format banner/truck wrap in photoshop and need to redo it in Illustrator and am trying to save and bring the elements from photoshop to Illustrator. I've tried saving the background and the edited/photoshoped image separate as png's, then as .psd's. I tried to save as a TIF as well but it was too large. When i try to upload them into Illustrator no image shows, just the bounding box. Any tips or tricks to alleviate this? 

There are 7 simalr sized oval objects that need to have even spacing, and also need to be enlarged (experimented with) to fit efficiently into the space. It is taking me WAY too long to get it right. In MS publisher, all you had to do was select the items and scale away!!! There's got to be a better way. Thanks as always for your help!

I have three categories that I want to overlay on top of one another for exact comparisons. I see on the adobe instructions page it saysArea graphsValues must be all positive or all negative. Each row of data entered corresponds to a filled area on the area graph. Area graphs add each column’s values to the previous column’s totals. Therefore, even if area graphs and line graphs contain the same data, they appear substantially different."Is there NO option to allow you to overlay this data without it distorting your data/graph? If you look at the graph it has created with my Data you can see that the values of light grey and black should be VERY similar, and that the MAX number on my chart should be 1098. But this is NOT what is displayed in the graph. This essentially makes this tool useless. Hello, i'm changing some colours in some documents i'm about to send to print and changing the colours from ones i've just picked on the screen into specified pantones. I'm pasting swatches into each document to then select all on active artboard - edit colours - recolour artwork (under prominent colours the colours look broadly correct at this stage) - advanced options - colour picker for each colour and choose the pantone swatch to convert to.  Then when i go back to verify if the colours are correct i edit colours - recolour artwork and under prominent  colours there are three colours that look the same as those i've chosen, plus an extra BLACK. The black doesn't appear in the colour picker screen but i can't remove it from prominent colours.  I understand Pantone and Adobe have had a bit of a separation and that there are bugs associated. Does anyone know the fix please?  My documents are using white (ffffff) Pantone 2188c Pantone 7590c 

Trying to open a DXF2000 file and I get a "Text Import Options" window instead of the scaling window I am supposed to get.   I have followed many other posts here and have installed a new C++ runtime  and tried to regress to AI v. 25.4.1 ( the oldest I have access to with CC)  I am new to AI.  How do I get around this problem?  Screanshots are in reverse order....  Thanks for any help!

I opened a file I was working on yesterday that uses Roboto Flex, but all of my variable font values are completely gone. Instead I get a missing fonts warning. If I was using Roboto Flex Bold, it now shows as:RobotoFlexNormalNormalNormalNormalNormalNormalNormalNormalNormalDefault Anyone experiencing this issue? I made a black business card cmyk (75 , 68 , 67 , 90) I saved it in jpg it came out rich black.My client wanted it in pdf format to easily print it At first the pdf showed the rich black as dark grey Until i solved the problem from illustrator itself i saved the pdf as follows :Standard: PDF/X-1a:2001 Output> Color conversation: convert to destination (preserve numbers)Destination: Photoshop 5 Default cmyk  The pdf showed the card in rich black as intended But when i tried to print it, it came out as darkgrey how can i fix this ??? (I chose "let the printer determine colors" and "Discoloured background correction") I attached a pic of the card I tried explaining everything as possible i have a deadline so i need help urgently, please !

Hi,We are logged on the Adobe Illustrator account within the program, but it still asks for the serial key.When asking the AI chat it tells me there is not active session on the email.However when looking in account settings our plan shows all that we have, including Illustrator.Please advice.Per Christensen

Hi, I got this problem today where Adobe Illustrator freezes on the initialization screen and stops responding. I was using AI 2020 when it happened. I then unistalled and reinstalled it, but the problem still persisted. I'm now using AI 2021 and it's the same. I think it started happening after I installed a font which I uninstalled soon after. The program worked for a time after that, but it stopped responding again after I closed  and relaunched it. I'm running it on a Dell laptop with 8gb RAM, Nvidia GTX 1050 and Intel UHD Graphics 630. I tried running the diagnostics but it's also not responding, so I can't get any error codes. I'll attach some photos below. There doesn't seem to be an answer on the internet yet. If anyone has an idea on how to fix this pls let me know. Thanks Not responding initialization screen

How can I rotate editable text in illustrator?

How do I keep the top object of a clipping mask (the clipping path) maintain its outline? Every time I make a clipping mask, it gets removed, and I have to go into Layers, make active the clipping path and reapply the outline, manually - any annoying extra few steps. 

I wish the plus and minus selections could be distinguished separately in the selection tool. It's hard to select what you want in a complex drawing with public plus and minus selections.

I am a long time Illustrator user but am just using mesh tool for the first time. I get how to create the mesh, and add color to it, but I'd now like to add a stroke color to the mesh lines themselves. Is this possible? Here is where I am - color added, mesh lines highlighted, but I'd like to have a stroke width and stroke color applied to the mesh lines.

Hi, I am a total beginner here, I am looking to use the background of a painting for my logo and then the colour on the figure for my text. It's quite a simple logo, just the background and then some text but I have no idea where to start or how to do this and quite lost.  Would appreciate if anyone can advise on how to go about this?  Thanks! Michelle 

BUG ALERT? Cannot manually drag from finder into an existing document, it automatically opens the jpg image in a new document and renders it at 12% of actual size (every time). Nothing wrong with images, they are basic JPG b&w scans I made from my canoscan LIDE 400. Some of the scanned JPGs work fine (about 1/3rd of them. ) even though I have scanned them all using the exact same settings and methods.  This started after updating to latest Ai 28.1 Using ventura 13.6.1 Mac studio M1 chip. 32 G ramAttempt to drag or place some files results in this error message (attached) 

Ayuda, quiero dejar de pagar esta estafa. Los precios subieron mucho y no quiero seguir pagando illustrator. Estos estafadores escondieron el boton de cancelar suscripcion, para que uno se vea obligado a pagar.  Que hay que hacer para anular suscripcion??? Ya intenté todo lo obvio.
