I normally avoid working with selections in the script, so I haven't noticed such an error yet.   I found this question in another forum. Selecting a TextFrame created in the script does not work as desired.   This is the code used:       var myDoc = app.activeDocument; var topLay = myDoc.layers.add(); topLay.name = 'LABEL'; var txt = topLay.textFrames.add(); txt.name = 'LABEL Text'; txt.contents = "inhalt"; topLay.textFrames[0].selected = true;         Result (text frame seems to be selected but is not) -->   -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Possible remedies after some quick tests: 1)   (Because it is only the only element in the newly created layer) Change the last line to:       topLay.hasSelectedArtwork = true;       works right away in this case. -->   2)  If the document is closed and

If I hide or unhide a layer on the first artboard, it is also visible on the other artboard, as if both were linked and changes were synchronized from one artboard to the other. The second artboard is a copy of the first artboard, but should not actually react to changes on the other artboard, but should be editable independently. Does anyone have any ideas?Illustrator 28.5 on Mac OS

Is there a way to disable the alert that appears when I am trying to delete a layer group (see pic)? It is disruptive to my work flow, and if i need it back, I can just command-z. Another over-engineered "feature" from developers. Don't make me go through a secondary step for something that is recovorable. At least give me the option to "turn off" such alerts. To the people on this board who are going to say " this is a user forum, you should send suggestions to Adobe..."    Yeah, I know. I'm just looking for people to chime-in with my frustration.  

Bonjour, Quasiment à chaque fois que je lance Illustrator je tombe sur cette fenêtre grise figée. Je suis obligé de relancer mon ordinateur et d'espèrer que l'application se lance correctement.  Merci pour votre aide. 

Can anybody help me with this? This is very annoying:Almost every time I zoom out using keyboard shortcut (ctrl -) the objects that are selected move a notch down (same increment as if I used Down Arrow to nudge).I remember this being an issue in something like Illustrator 8.0 or 9.0 and I can't believe that this bug still exists today!

Hi, is there any possible way to bring the Adobe Illustrator draw for mobile/android back? As a Student, it really help us to do the things we need to do by this app and it's really helpful. I hope it brings back.

While I'm working on vector files, they randomly get blurry until I zoom in. It is happening multiple times a day! I really don't know what could be the problem.I attached a screen capture of what is happening. I have a MacBook Pro 2019Intel i7 2.6GHz 6-CoreAMD Radeon Pro 5300M 4gb / Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4MAC OS Sonoma 14.2.1Illustrator 28.2 

Around 10 days ago I've started to experience a plugin issue when I'm trying to open Illustrator. I have the latest Illustrator update. Have tried these tips as suggested in the Adobe Illustrator's article https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/plugin-missing-issue.html?trackingid=TG8SLGS2&mv=in-product&mv2=ai Hope someone can help. I've tried 3 times.  The most recent time I let it sit overnight for 12 hours and still nothing.  It goes to 6% in a few seconds and then just stops.  If I click "cancel" then a window pops up saying "canceling" but it won't go away unless I completely close and restart Illustrator.  Any advice?  My system is an Apple Macbook Air M1 with 8 GB memory and 315 GB of available storage space.

Hello everybody,I am not a experienced graphic designer but just draw illustrations (also without computer) and from time to time I deliver illustrations as PDF, sometimes as AI or PNG or SVG. But my question would probably be about PDF. Until some weeks I only used objects with the blob brush. This was easy as you can see directly how the lines are and don't have to care about anything else. But of course strokes have also advantages :). As I don't have a printer background or anything, I am not sure whether the file of the image is also good for delivery when I use strokes instead of the blob brush (=objects). I saw already in some small tests that the stroke width can change when copied into another program (like Corel) or closed (when it is not closed, but illustrator opens it like it is and Corel as closed).So with my limited knowledge would it perhaps be a good idea to indeed work with strokes to have more possibilities, but at the end before delivery to convert the str

by any chance some one can help me recover an "aid" file ? illustrator crashed when working with charts and infographics...and lost a lot of work time....i know i know i know - save often and such - but i've lost some drawings that are dificult to recreate from scratchI've saved from the recovery data folder (the autosave was on),the aid file is no opening (and deleting it self) when i try to recovery it opening on illustratorif you think you can help let me now and i send the file via DM Thanks!  ❤️

Hey Everyone, This is a grid / scaling question.  I know I can adjust the rulers and units to inch and feet. I know that I can get a grid using the rectangular grid tool.  What i can't find is the preferences for the tool.  The artwork is a layout and I need to make it scalable. The actually size is 1500 feet x 1500 feet. I sharnk it down to 15ft x 15 ft. I'd like to put a grid of either 5ft x 5ft square, but how for some it keeps giving me 6x6.  Maybe I have to a grid within a grid? Ideas?

Hi,I have two layers. Upper most with text is locked.Bottom layer is an image I have applied a transparency/gradient mask for the raster image. Now, seems my layers palette is stuck in a mode called 'Layers (Opacity Mask)'.Not seen this before, but this is CS6. How do I get out to the main, root level of the layers palette?thanks!

Hi, for many years i was using Adobe CS2 and now the 2024 cloud versions of the Adobe products.Normaly I can open a pdf catalogue for editing, choosing the one page that needs editing. Than save it, and the whole document stays intact.  Now when saving it saves only the page edited (document is 7422 KB / page  is 199 Kb) and the whole catalogue is gone. (3/4 days work).  Spent allready several hours with the Adobe remote service but no solution. They suggested to save every single page and edit. Than reassemle to make a catalogue. This is not the way, and uneccesarily more work to get the job done. Has anyone any idea how this is even possible? It all started after there was a problem with the fonts in the library. While scrolling the fonts Illustrator shutted down. Adobe resolved the problem by installing an older version of Illustrator. But a new problem arised.  Hopefully someone can help here? Otherwise I wil have no use anymore for Adobe.&nb

 Problem with Adobe Illustrator. For about a month now, Illustrator has been reporting an error, which can be seen in the image. Furthermore, when saving some data, Illustrator crashes and it is not possible to save the data in it.I can't save colors to the library as before. The library does not record the color at all. We tried to uninstall the whole program and reinstall it, the problem still persists. Using an older version also didn't help. Please advise how to solve this. Since I use the program to work and I need to work with it as quickly as possible this error bothers me a lot.Please do not refer me to other discussions, I did not find my problem in them. Thank you

I'm the design side on a motion design pipeline. At the end of each project I'm required to move the artwork of each artboard to it's own layer with the corresponding screen number (layer "screen 01", layer "screen 02" and so on). I wish to automate this process. Ideally, the script would:create and name the layers, based on the number of artboards and it's index;move the artwork of each artboard to it's corresponding layer. I've seen scripts moving objects to specific layers, however most are dealing with selected artboard or selected items, which would not be the case here, since running the script for each individual artboard would make the whole thing kinda pointless.  I'm pretty sure this is doable, however my knowledge on scripting is pretty limited to say the least, so any help would be greatly appreciated! 

When I open up the colour picker in Illustrator Desktop BETA it is glitchy.  it fixes itself when I move the slider up or down.

After a recent scan of my Windows 11 PC, my antivirus (Avast) indicated the following as malware: C:users\john\AppData\Roaming\Adobe Illustrator 28 Settings\en_US\x64\New Document Profiles\web.aiC:program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 2024\Support Files\Required\New Document Profiles\en_US\web.ai Can anyone confirm if this is malware or a false positive?Thanks!

Hi everyone,I'm looking for some guidance on a project I'm working on. I need to repeat shapes (squares or rectangles) in a pattern similar to the photo attached. Specifically, I want to arrange these shapes along concentric circles.I'm aiming to create something akin to the photo (abstract shapes) in Adobe Illustrator, which will then be imported into After Effects for final use.Could someone point me to the simplest solution to achieve this?Thanks in advance!

I recently got an M2 MBP and I'm having some issues with Illustrator which I recently installed the latest version (27.6.1). I'm not using old preferences. I have disabled dictation features which some users in other posts seem to believe affected Illustrator performance. This is a fresh install of macOS and the Adobe apps. I'm on macOS Ventura 13.4.1. Lag and stuttering when moving objectsRandomly when dragging objects the canvas seems to freeze for a second or two and then finally updates itself. This happens even on emptuy projects with nothing but a rectangle. I disabled the Pro Motion feature of my laptop's monitor which changes framerates depending on what the user is doing.
