I recently got an M2 MBP and I'm having some issues with Illustrator which I recently installed the latest version (27.6.1). I'm not using old preferences. I have disabled dictation features which some users in other posts seem to believe affected Illustrator performance. This is a fresh install of macOS and the Adobe apps. I'm on macOS Ventura 13.4.1. Lag and stuttering when moving objectsRandomly when dragging objects the canvas seems to freeze for a second or two and then finally updates itself. This happens even on emptuy projects with nothing but a rectangle. I disabled the Pro Motion feature of my laptop's monitor which changes framerates depending on what the user is doing. This seems to have alleviated the issue even though I'm using an external monitor connected to a Thunderbolt port. Lag when writingThere's another random issue which is not really consistent. My Ai app frequently crashes. Therefore yesterday [June 5, 2024] I installed new driver to graphic card [GC]. How to find new driver has been installed? Because Control Panel shows first two items are the driver installed date.  Could you help me achieve this look on a vector file? Please don’t suggest those extremely expensive embroidery software programs. I only need this look for my digital design and don’t plan to create a physical embroidery. I can't believe that nobody has found an easy solution for this in the last 15 years. I've searched the internet over and over, but haven't found a straightforward way to accomplish this. I was able to partially replicate the effect with a scribble tool, but it looks very unrealistic because the angle of the scribble remains the same across the shape. I’m not sure how to achieve the same effect with the scribbles following the curvature of the shape instead of maintaining a constant direction. If it is very hard to accomplish, can I suggest to the developers to create a dynamic random angle in the scribble effect that follows the shape?

so I've noticed this for years now and wondering why this is. So if you go export artboard for screens, in the formats and type in 5 or any number higher then change you mind and want to go back to x1 the dropdown menu wont do it. I have to type it in manually. but the weird thing is if you go from for example x8  and decide to go back to x2 on the drop down it works, then type x8 again and try the drop down for x1 it magically works haha

The place function in Bridge works fine in all other CC Apps. When Illustrator is selected it switches to the App, but nothing happens.Already tried resetting preferences in Illustrator and have emptied the cache in Bridge.Illustrator version - 22.0.1Bridge version - 8.0.1.282Mac OS - 10.13.3

Hi all,Where I work we are currently transitioning away from ProofHQ/WorkFront as it is being discontinued.We are trying to use the "Share for review" function in Illustrator. But a problem we have run into is; reviewers cant seem to find the function to rotate the images(Something easily done in ProofHQ/Workfront). This is an issue as we are proofing packages with text that needs to be properly reviewed and it would be alot easier if the reviewer can read the text right side up. Any help is appreciated Thank you.

I have twenty different sizes and it is a pain to name each with the ProjectName_250x20.obviously the ProjectName is not a problem, but I still have to enter the size of each board. There must be a way? 

Adobe, please add one other option on the right-side panel to allow for users to adjust the grain particle size. Currently there is no way to do that.   

Currently when exporting in illustrator the file name is ordered as FileName_ArtboardName. Is there a way to arrange these so the artboard name comes first? I.E. ArtboardName_FileName

In architecture practice, we are using illustrator, photoshop and CAD programs daily. The biggest problem appears when we opening PDF's in illustrator they come out sideways for some reason...After using AutoCAD or Microstation programs in sheet mode we either print those drawings or Print PDFs accordingly. Acrobat and Photoshop open those files as the way we set up on CAD (eg. landscape). But for more than a decade Illustrator still opens those files sideways (portrait)! And we manually rotate them and create annoying inaccuracies... work with vectors and save pdfs as landscape. But then we open in Acrobat in order to combine separate pdfs into drawing set - the pdfs saved from illustrator is now in portrait... Please help

Hello all! I request your help with the following: I would like to draw a perfect circle, with a specific number of equally spaced cutaways, each of equal size. I also need to be able to specify the amount of the line that is removed by each cutaway. Essentially, I want to make a circle with a dotted line, as in the attached image. However, I need to be able to specify each of the parameters mentioned above. Thank you!

Hello.I have updated all 29 computers in my classroom as well as my own laptop to the latest WACOM drivers. I am able to enable the tablet in Illustrator Edit > Preferences > General > Enable.... However NONE of them will allow me to choose "Pressure" when editing brush settings...only Fixed and Random are clickable. All versions of Illustrator are fully updated as well. We are running Illustrator 2024 ver 28.5. I also get a pop-up some computers each time I load Illustrator that says, "....has detected a problem with your drivers for wacom tablet. Please install updated drivers and restart". Which I have...HELP! 

Hi all....never had this before.I use illustrator to cut sign graphics so it's linked to a plotter.I have a file I'm working on that has clearly been scaled. Artboard says it's 3800mm x 400mm but when I print it's 380mm x 40mm. There is nothing to show that it has been scaled.the only workoround is to create a new file and cut/paste everything in.I'm sure this is a 'clever' feature meant to help and not result in £££'s worth of wasted material. Any ideas how can I turn this ridiculous feature off?thanks

I work on projects on Illustrator with my apple laptop at home, then at my job I continue my projects on a Dell desktop. On my apple laptop afterwards it always ends up making a copy of the file with the changes and the original file without. How can I work on different devices on the same file without it making a copy? 

The latest version of Illustrator (28.5 Win 10) has a critical bug. I have played it several times already. To do this, you need to move the image by holding the space bar to the right, and then click on the right corner of the horizontal scroll line. The program is guaranteed to freeze and does not respond to any button or mouse click.

Is there a way to customize the scale space?My unit is the millimeter, for example if I have a line which Illustrator measures 75mm but which actually makes 600mm. How can I change the scale so that my line doesn't change dimension on the drawing but the measurement shown in the properties is 600mm? Thanks. 

i just updates my illustrator to the latest 2015cc, and got the liveshapes feature, but it's driving me crazy and i want to disable it, how do i do that?

Why's the "apply to all" option to replace images is gone? It's a absolute time saver in my field (pre-press, printing). Is there a way to do the same as in ALL previous versions of AI?I've opened the same file, containing the same picture mutiple times in AI 2022 and AI 2023. In 2022, I can update the picture in one click. In 2023, I have relink it 10 times.  

  The links pop-up that appears when links are missing is not showing the Apply to All option in v27.8.1 running on an M2 Mac (upper screenshot). It shows up in v27.7 running on an intel mac (lower screenshot). Anyone know how I get this feature back?

I make graphics in Illustrator and export them to .svg in order to make them work in a specific game engine, since the new update 28.4.1 all the radial gradient won't keep their center an won't render like it should when get exported to svg, I've never have problems before for years until this update (image attached), any clues on why this is happening?P.D. Please don't coment that svg is not the best format for gradients, we all know that 😉

Is there a way to permanently turn off the contextural bar? I de-checked the option in the window menu but every time I restart the application it defaults to showing it.
