Hi everyone. I've been having a problem for a few versions of Illustrator. I didn't have this problem before.After linking a PSD file and selecting the option in the settings (FILE HANDLING > UPDATE LINKS - AUTOMATICALLY), Illustrator doesn't update the links; it only does this once every few times.I've checked it on two computers now - the problem occurs on version 29.7.1 and UP and not on version 29.0.1 and below - on this version on the same computers work perfectly.Does anyone have a solution? My computer is Mac Studio M4, system is Tahoe 26.3.1

I'm having the same issue here.   CPU view as a workaround still isn't very responsive when zooming in using alt+scroll but at least scrolling works. Using GPU, both scrolling and zooming (using alt+scroll) are freezing.   Stragely enough, temporarily changing to the move tool (press and holde spacebar) or the zoom tool (ctrl+ spacebar) don't have this issue at all. I'm experiencing strange spikes and small loops in my vector paths while drawing in Illustrator. The paths suddenly create sharp angles or little loops that shouldn’t be there. Please see the attached screenshot and video.The problem only occurs when I use pressure-sensitive brushes — brushes with uniform thickness work fine.I’m using the latest version of Illustrator (though I had this problem even before updating) and an Artist 12 Pro XP-Pen tablet (Windows Ink is deactivated).I’ve tried different versions of Illustrator and installed the latest tablet drivers, but I’m running out of ideas. I hope someone can help me! 🙂

Hi, how can I draw a line like this, slanted? Can someone please show me? I'm uploading the image to a site so you can see it; I think this is how it's shown here. I apologize if I'm breaking the rules. I'm talking about the slanted line below the image, above the text "protein cake".  

I am trying to make a simply perspective cube in Adobe Illustrator. I know there is a way to make it with the perspective grid, but I would prefer to make it using two offset squares. With the offset squares, I am trying to connect each respective corner using the pen tool. When I do this it creates an unclean corner. I have checked, and my smart guides and snap to pixel are both on, and both anchor points line up perfectly. How do I fix these corners? 

I previously asked this question when I was using the mirror tool and last time by expanding my objects after the mirror tool was used, it allowed the mirror to be released. This time it still keeps the left and right side as two separate objects. I can't use the live paint tool as a result. Any reason this is happening? expand appearance is always grayed out (not sure why as this worked the first time) so I just used expand.

Im trying to expand the drawing area in Illustrator CS5, an I cant how can I do this?

I’m brand new to scripting in Illustrator, I’m using VS Code and things are, sometimes, working . . . sort of.I’m working from PDFs created from Word and have the script checking the font applied to the text frames, and if italic is in the name apply our italic font, if not apply our regular font. Seemed pretty straight forward.But I was getting this error: an Illustrator error occurred: 1346458189 ('PARM')On this line of code: txtFnt = tf.textRange.characterAttributes.textFont;I began debugging and commenting out various lines. Eventually I had everything uncommented again with no changes to the actual code and it worked exactly as expected! I have a paragraph of text in a captive text block and I want to align that paragraph to the bottom of the block. When I select this option, the text should be aligned to the bottom of the block, but it isn’t. It seems to align to the bottom and then immediately jump back to the top of the block. When I use this feature in an older version of Illustrator, I don’t have this problem. If I save the file in that older version and open it in the latest version (2026), and then edit the text, the text jumps back to the top of the block even though the ‘bottom’ option is selected.Has anyone else had this problem?I’ve attached a screenshot, as I’m using the French version of Illustrator and I don’t know what this window is called in the English versionThanks a lot for your help

It appears that importing or opening any SVG file that has a clip path in it (even ones made in Illustrator) produces the error "Clipping will be lost on roundtrip to Tiny". While there are workarounds and solutions given in other threads, I am curious about what the error actually means - I understand the "Clipping will be lost" bit, but have no clue what "on roundtrip to Tiny" means! If anyone can shed any light on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Tengo un plan de Lr y Ps con 20g de almacenamiento en la nube. Trabajo en IPad para editar mis fotografías. Borre por error las que estaba trabajando (tengo las originales pero no quiero perder el trabajo de edición que hice en esas fotos). Necesito recuperarlas pero no me deja restaurarlas ya que me dice que no tengo espacio en la nube y que mejore mi plan, lo cual me extraña un poco ya que solo tengo 15 fotografías importadas y el resto en la carpeta eliminadas que borre por error, son unas 1200 fotos jpg que necesito recuperar. Cuando intento recuperarlas me dice que necesita 7g aproximadamente, o sea que esas fotos tienen ese tamaño, más las 15 en jpg que no pesan tanto, como máximo tendré ocupado en Lr unos 8g, no sé porque me dice que la nube está llena. Intente entrar a Lr en la web y lo mismo, hay pocos archivos. Descargue el Lr downloader y tengo 8g más o menos ocupados, la pregunta es que está ocupando el el resto de espacio? Lo necesito para recuperar el trabajo que he hecho

I am trying to export multiple artboards for screen to jpg or png. Things that I have some quality but jpg results are veeeery weird. Like distorted pixels or something. Export Worked totally fine. Not sure what happened. Another classic adobe frustration that kills my productive day.  Tried in latest Ai 2025 + 2026. Thanks. This is ok (A4 format, cmyk)original artboard previewExported into jpg  Here is more obvious Artboard  Export JPG 100 (100% zoom) Look at the lines.  

Illustrator crashes and disappears as soon as I run my cursor over the welcome screen. It also crashes when try to directly open an .ai file.I’ve tried everything I possibly could find: reset the preferences with shift+option+command, clean re-install, safe mode, trashing preferences folder, looking for CCX Welcome files (there were none). I have NO Wacom files on my Mac. I have run diagnostics, allowed/not allowed it to access other apps data… etc etc etcI’m running OS 15.7.4 (24G517) but it also use to happen in previous OS.I lie, you can get it to open eventually and allow you to click the blue “New file” button…. but it can often take in advance of 30 attempts to achieve this.This has gone on for about a year - often when I finally get it to stay open I’ll often not close it for days on end just to keep it usable. WHAT IS IT I HAVE MISSED?Any help would be VERY gratefully received.It may help to include a recent crash report here?:Thank you :-(

Hello,Somehow the dark gray background (the big canvas which contains the artboards) turned white.I don't know how to switch it back... I tried changing the preview settings (Pixel & Overprint) and the preferences menu, "show artboards", GPU preview and CPU but it didn't worked.How can I fix it?Thank you{Renamed by MOD}

I made a rectangle and tried to select, Copy and paste- it wont work.  It lets me select but when I hit Ctrl -the selection tool changes to "direct selection" and shows a little curved line.  Then it wont let me Ctrl C-Ctrl V.  I also tried to just select and go to the edit menu and copy and that will not work either.I used the pen tool to make a shape and see if I could copy that and its doing the same thing...so I think its some issue with the selection tool.I dont know if I accidentally changed a setting or how I can fix this, but its very frustrating.  Please help!!  Thanks!

Recently, I’ve had a problem where I can’t change an object or stroke’s colors. When I open the swatches and select a new color, it highlights the new swatch while my mouse clicker is depressed, then immediately hops back to the old one. The color change is reflected in the “color picker” box on the sidebar, but not in the Fill/Stroke swatches panel  in the top toolbar. The object does not change colors.I created a new file and tried it there and had the same problem. I checked the appearance panel and determined that I didn’t have any additional fills or strokes in place.I updated AI to 30.1 (or whatever the most recent edition is). The problem resolved itself briefly, but started again after about half an hour of work. I tried switching the document color mode to RGB and back.Please help! Video documentation attached.

This is happening in illustrator 2024 and 2025 for me.  Everytime I go to create a new document I will get all of the settings set up and then once I start typing the name of the document all of the settings are reverted back to whatever the inital settings were when I went to create a new document. This frustrating because I won't realize it happens until I've created the document and then I'll have to either resize it or create a new one.

My computer is offline environment and can not access internet directly, and it install illustrator cc app ,but it need renew license each 90 days. Is there tool or setting which can find How many days are left before software licensing is required?Thanks
