Hello everybody,I have a problem with the Illustrator export as pixel based images.JPEGs and PNGs are everytime 1 pixel bigger in width or height in the resulting image than the elements or canvas/artboard dimensionis set in illustrator.Because I have to create a new GUI with background images and afull set of icons it is really inconveniant to open every PNG in Photoshopagain for resizing and re-saving.Ticking the pixel grid button doesn't solve the problem unforunately.Can you help me with it? There are white color and black color strokes in this text,  but  appearance panel shows only black color stroke. What is the reason? 3 Ways To Get A Text Effect With A Gradient, Strokes And A Block shadow In IllustratorTime 1.21 

I'm using Illustrator 28.6 on a 2021 MacBook M1 Pro running macOS 14.5.  And sometime in the last week or so, when I copy a text object and then paste it in the same file (either on the same layer or a different layer), for some reason the text is now auto-converted to outlines.  If I select some text in a text object, and then create a new text object and paste the text into that object, the text pastes as expected. I've never seen Illustrator do this before, and except for Illustrator having updated itself 12 days ago, I can't think of any other change that should cause it to happen.  I've played around with preferences and can't find anything that changes it.  I have rebooted my computer, to no effect.  Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this, or what I can do to fix it?  I'm attaching a simple file showing what happens (I tried an Illustrator file, but it was rejected saying that the "content type (application/postscript) does not mat

Hi everyone,Similar topics have already been discussed here, but I feel that the question of how older and newer PDF/X standards are actually used in printing practice still hasn’t been clearly answered. I keep hearing mixed opinions from different sources.I’m not a specialist, more of a theoretician, but as far as I understand, in offset printing PDF/X-4 allows for better print quality, since the RIP analyses live transparencies (which are not flattened in the file) and, if the press supports it, can even print nicely from the RGB colour space.PDF/X-4 is said to be a better, more modern standard that enables higher quality output. However, most of the print shops I work with — even those that consider themselves among the most advanced in the region — still ask for PDF/X-1a. It makes me wonder whether PDF/X-4 really produces noticeably better results, especially considering that in PDF/X-1a I can flatten all problematic graphics with transparencies, gradients, etc., in high resolution

So... I had some major issues with 30.0 after using it for a week. I did all of the deleting preferences and stuff that is recommended and it actually made it worse. I completely uninstalled 30.0 and reinstalled 29.6.1. It has been working beautifully, as it did before 30.0.  I decided to give 30.0 another chance while keeping 29.6.1 installed as well. I set all of my file associations to 29.6.1 and it was working as desired. ALL .ai files opened in 29.6.1 and I was able to work efficiently... until today.  I had a system crash and had to restart. Since restarting, Framemaker will only open Illustrator files in 30.0. No matter how many times I set 29.6.1 as the default, Framemaker will not use it. It used to prior to today, but... whatever.  I copy over all my actions, templates, graphic styles, symbols, brushes, custom keys, workspaces, etc. to 30.0. I open it, and it will NOT load my workspace. Restart Illustrator, still won't open workspace. I screen gr

Hi, I only realized I wasn't using true black for my proyect after I finished it. Is there a way to make all the blacks look like true blacks when exporting to PDF? I tried changing the output to have all blacks appear as true black but nothing I do is working. My only other option is to pick each text box individually and change the blacks to true blacks that way but at that point id waste less time remaking it from scratch since it's all in one layer.

Why did all my artboard text just change from city names to this gibberish?

I am trying to turn off the pink smart guides. I find them quite distracting. When I turn smart guides (in the view menu) but have Snap to Grid enabled, the smart guides stay on. It's just the ones related to the grid. This has only just started happening - usually I can snap to grid without any pink guides. Am I missing something? 

I'm having this problem with my Adobe Illustrator CS3 where I'll be using the pen tool, and out of nowhere (usually after I've undone a couple of things it seems), the program will get stuck on the hand tool, and won't switch to any other tool. Time seems to be the only remedy because the problem will persist even if I try to work on another file, or restart the program. It also carries over to Photoshop, which I don't recall ever giving me this problem. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi there! I'm just trying to see if anybody had the same issues and what kind of remedy you were able to find to solve this problem. I'm also very new to Ai and that will explain why I made a grave mistake. So when I discovered that Adobe Fresco has vector brushes and I could play with some settings, especially editing taper/smoothness/velocity then I was intrigued. I fell in love with Fr and created over 150 vector illustrations. All was great until I realized Fr does NOT offer paths. Then my whole word collapsed because I need to be able to modify how thick or thin my lines are. It is very crucial for me because I wanted to use my illustrations to create brass plates for foil accents on paper & polymer plates to be used for letterpress. Sadly then I found out Fr offers shapes, not paths, there are no strokes but filled shapes. I'm not sure what this process is, so am not sure how to look it up. I'm working in CMYK but want to export to print, or as RGB SVG for web.I haven't had to do this before - kinda working backwards - but I have a layered AI file with a few transparency modifiers... how do I keep the visual intensity of the AI file on export?Left side is AI... right side export. Any help appreciated!

Looking to reassign a keyboard shortcut in illustrator which uses this text justification that I use in Indesign by typing cmnd backspace after a tab to align the next line of text to the tab area if using a soft return but can't find it anywhere since I lost my preferences. I’d like to request an enhancement to the Blend tool that introduces easing control for transitions between steps. Currently, blends distribute intermediate objects evenly, which limits the ability to create more natural or dynamic progressions in size, position, or color.Specifically, I’d love to see:Easing In/Out Options: A way to control acceleration and deceleration across blend steps, similar to how easing works in animation curves. This would allow for smoother, more organic transitions.Custom Curve Editor: Ideally, include a small graph or curve interface (like the one used in After Effects or Illustrator’s gradient editor) to adjust how aggressively the easing behaves — from linear to exponential, logarithmic, or even custom bezier curves.Per-Attribute Control: If possible, separate controls for position, scale, and color blends to fine-tune how each property eases over the span.This feature would make the Blend function significantly more expressive and time-efficient, reducin

olá, não sei se existe um jeito de configurar as barras de atalhos para outros locais dentro do Illustrator.Exemplo:A barra exibir, ou editar para o botão direito do mouse.Essa que é a minha proposta, se não existir, é claro. Toda vez que precisamos fazer uma repetição de elemento ou padronagem, ou criar uma malha, em um vetor, ou texto, ou qualquer coisa que precisamos  no menu objeto. Temos que correr com o mouse até o menu e escolher o que desejamos. Eu acho muito lento esse processo e poderia muito bem ser mais ágil se tivesse a opção dessa barra, ou de outras no botão direito do mouse.Essa barra é uma das que mais usamos na criação e composição de qualquer arquivo do illustrator, esse tipo de opção ajudaria em muito na produtividade dentro do software. 

I want to save a PDF file from Adobe Illustrator in such a way that all pages (artboards) are automatically converted to JPEG images, and the size of all artboards is reduced to half. This will prevent the client from using the file for large-scale printing and ensure they cannot make any edits. The file should look like a PDF, but all pages should behave like JPEG images. Please note that "NO Watermark" appare in the PDF file. 

Thsi Script exports PDF files to a given folder without saving the current AI-file.When one of the dialoge windows is open, I can navigate through the options and choose them with space-key. So the button gets blue higlighted but the predefined keeps its white outline. But hitting "Return" an the blue colored button, will not work at all. Trabalho com ilustrator e algumas coisas me incomodam ou pra ser mais exato, algumas coisas me ajudariam. Exemplo. Entendo que ao clicar com o botão direito do mouse, aparece algumas funções como simplicar e suavizar linha, entendo que algumas funções ficariam mais praticas e ageis para o usuário se estivesse inclusa dentro da aba do mouse direito, como a barra de menu "objetos", ou algumas funções dela. Outra facilidade que poderia ser incluida nessa área de otimização e agilidade se na barra de tarefas contextuais pudessem ser configuradas ou se elas agissem de modo inteligente, com algumas funções pre-determinadas de acordo com cada elemento que vc clica na cena, exemplo: Quando você selecionasse dois objetos na cena ela aparecesse a função de alinhamento nela, ou em um icone dela, creio que ajudaria na velocidade e praticidade do usuário com o software.   

Hi I used the radial feature to turn a vector image into multiple copies following the shape of a circle. I would now like to ungroup/isolate each image so that they become their own object so that I can individually treat each vector image without all of them being affected, but also be able to permanently remove them from the group to be manipulated as totally separate objects. Isolate lets me temporaily do this, but any changes are then repeated amongst all the objects as soon as I click out of the group. Is there a way to do this? Thank you.

I need to export .dxf files in the AutoCad R12 release format. It looks like newer versions of Illustrator will only export to R13 and later. Which version of Illustrator is able to export to R12?

Hi allI've recently completed a design for a van wrap that I've sent to my signwriter so he can print and install, but he's software cannot handle the size, the file is 1.9GB after exporting it to pdf.The design, a cherry blossom tree (attached) contains 1000+ individually placed blossoms. Each blossom started as an artist's watercolour sketches, that were scanned at high resolution.  I vectorised each blossom (there were about 10 different blossoms).  I then grouped them and linked them into the illustrator file.  The illustrator file I was working on was over 2GB, it was painful to open, save and close, let alone work with.What was I doing wrong at this point?Anyway, I now need to reduce the file size but maintain is scalability.  The illustrator file is at about 10% of the finished size for each side of the van.(Attached is one side of the van.  The other side is almost identical, just the reverse layout.My systemMacbook ProChip - Apple M1 MaxMemory - 64 GBm
