Am I the only one suffering in silence about just how distracted Adobe is these days? The sloppy interface from the very beggining is a huge let down. Is there anyway the coders could stop producing software while they are drunk... *cough* vert margins *cough*  Or, do we need to be drunk to use this program for it to be acceptable? *asking for a friend. 

For real guys, what are they devs doing? illu just crashed when I clicked the "settings" windown. Only had 3 tabs open with one image each. No other program open either. Everytime there is a crash any given month, there should be a discount off our subscription for that respecting month. 1 crash = 5% discount. Hello everyone,I use oftenly the pencil tool, especially smooth option while holding Alt, to clean points when there are too many of them (for exemple when using the blending shape tool). Sometimes I use the path eraser tool but as its name tells it, it erases the path and then I have to select points and Ctrl+J to join. I just want an option to give us the choice to keep the path closed or not. Cleaning illustration can be a huge part of jobs on illustrator and it would be very nice to do it easily. The smooth tool is ok but it changes too much the global shape, and I need to zoom out so the smooth effect applies on a single part of the shape (with the pencil tool + holding alt, see the video it does nothing beacause of the zoom)

Hi, Tech details:Win11 - licensed with all updatesAdobe Creative Cloud subscriptions. Adobe Illustrator has all the updates. Issue:I received an Adobe Illustrator document. I opened it and received no missing fonts warning.I extracted the text into an Ms Word file in order to translate the document.The Illustrator does not display what font is used and whether it is Normal, Light, Bold, etc.I opened the PDF provided with the Illustrator file, and I discovered that the font Rubik is used in Adobe Illustrator.I went back to Illustrator and manually selected the Rubik font, as it is already installed. However, there are 44 pages. I do not want to do it manually for each paragraph or sentence.  What happened? Why does Illustrator not display the font used in the document? Regards,Sebastian 

Does a stroke NEED to be added to the text in a logo created in Illustrator? In other words, is it best to add a stroke? I'm just learning Illustrator. My colleague, who has virtually no design experience, is modifying a professionally designed logo. He stated that he "added a 0.25 pt stroke weight to the text." I've never heard of this and am wondering if he is confusing converting to outline with adding a stroke to the text. To me, adding a stroke changes the font that was very carefully selected by the brand design firm. Should I suggest that he remove any added strokes from the text? Or is it necessary step to add a stroke to vector art? I always use convert to outline. Thank you. 

I have been facing this issue since the past 3 days. I have saved a realtively light file. It gets saved the first time but then it refuses to save again. I have changed my performance setting from GPU to CPU as well. There is a PARM error also that keeps popping in this. While saving it the second time, it gets saved but the loading of saving in the background popup doesn't go anywhere. I have to press stop multiple times for it to go away. But then when i have to open the file this pop up shows. Anyone who can help, please do! I have a portfolio to make 😞

Hi,I'm using variables to change an image when a certain category is used. So if  'Finance'  is used  the image of 'taart' should be displayed.My spreadsheet skills are limited but I came up with the code below. Somehow I get an error when using this code. I hope somebody in this community can figure what's wrong. A pdf/ai can have multiple pages, and when placing it, the user specifies the target page (if not specified, it defaults to 1).   So, is there a way to determine the page of a pdf/ai file that has already been placed as a PlacedItem within a document?   I know there is no direct property to express this. In other words, I am looking for either a workaround method like embedding it first and then examining the PageItem structure, or an unexpected method that elegantly solves this problem.   Similar posts Get and set artboard of placed item

i am trying to get the best quickest way to remove paths on top of other paths in illustrator.i have 1000 ellipse circles with some unwanted ellipse circles on top of others that i want to remove. At the moment i command Y and click on each one to remove them. It takes me quite some time so hoping some other solution is available, thanks for any help 

I may be overthinking it, but all I want to do is cut out the orange shape into the postcard. The postcard would have a deletion in it , from the shape of the orange design. I have no idea how to do it, man.

Hi There, I've been working on a file for a cople of days that's on my desktop. Today I opened the file, made some edits and hit CMD + S and saw this error... Things I've tried...Copying the art into a new document and savingSaving the new document to different disks (all local, no servers)Creating a blank document with nothing in it and saving Bascially, I can't save anything - has anyone else seen this?CheersBen

I’m trying to find a way to work with strokes the same way Shape Builder works with filled shapes — ideally without having to outline them.For example, if two strokes overlap and I want to remove or merge parts of them, I can use the Scissor Tool to cut, but then I need to manually delete segments and merge anchor points, which is pretty tedious.Is there a more efficient or intuitive way to "trim" strokes or combine them, while keeping them live and editable as strokes (not converting to outlines)?Any tips or plugins that can help with this?

As much as I love new updates I have had to revert back to the previous version due to a function that has changed. Purely because I am quite meticulous on structure and alignment. So it's not a breaking feature I might just be full of it.With the new update the Arrange artboards function now works differentely. Previously once you have set the Layout>Columns>Spacing and hit enter the pages would align centre to the canvas. Now with the new update once I hit enter it wants me to to place the selected artboards where I want them. Am I missing something as to how to centre this from here on or is this no longer vailable.

Why are .ai files not previewing with quick preview function on Mac? I've had this issue confirmed by several other users.The quick preview app on Mac is essential tool for scrolling though and identifying image files. For it to no longer work with AI files is disastrous!Help please!

Can someone please tell me the best way to copy and center artwork on the artboard using the SDK? I can copy the art just fine and tried everything that I can think of but cannot get the artwork to center. I'm currently using a translation matrix for x, y with no luck. I have the code written already through script which works fine (not with any matrix, just plain old math to calculate x, y), but decided to rewrite the code as a C++ plugin. I'm going to need to scale the artwork a bit as well, but struggling with positioning at the moment. So, is this the best way (transformation/translation matrix) to do what I need or someone has another way?

Hello everyone, I have bought an windows tablet samsung galaxy tab S7.. I thought that the app Adobe worked with my new tablet but i have discoveed that Photoshop Illustrator funciton only with ipad tablet.  In the future something will change? PLease help me      {Renamed by MOD}

Hi... I am new to producing printed output.  I just attempted to print my first 13x19 on high quality paper, and unexpectedly, ended up w/ a ~1/4" white border all the way around, which maked the content at the edge. Instead of trial-and-erroring w/ the expensive paper, I thought I'd tinker more w/ cheaper copy paper. I don't quite undersatand what is happening.  Seems if I print 'non' Borderless on US Letter, I similarly get a white border that masks part of the image (see "US Letter").... and if I print Borderless, it seems to stretch the image a bit, and cuts off the edge (see "US Letter Borderless" How might I more reliably get edge-to-edge printing w/o cutting off (or border/masking) content?
