Questions

There's only rulers, grid on and a black rectangle on 58% opacity in my file; thin black lines appear and disappear when moving the canvas around, i cant click on them or anything. How can I fix this?Attached is a video of the canvas moving around and the lines appearing.

I've been trying to find a solution to the problem for a while, but I can't figure it out. I've tried several things I found, like turning Overprint Preview on and off, as well as Trim View and Show Transparency Grid. I also tried switching to and from dark mode in Preferences, but nothing works. The strange thing is that it only happens when I want to modify the artboard (Shift+O), and in the View menu, "Hide Artboard" appears but cannot be used. I aprecciate your help. 

Hi, I haven't had this issue previously in the 2 or 3 years I've been using Illustrator. I work on a laptop mainly as I am a student. I use the touch pad to zoom in and out, which has worked fine for me up until now. It will still zoom in like it has been, but about 50% of the time it will zoom extremely far in or extremely far out. Almost like my mouse sensitivity went up for a moment. I've looked through a bunch of forums and tried messing with every zoom preference option possible, but nothing seems to be working. Any solutions or tips would be appreciated because this is starting to become really frustrating.

Illustrator - 29.7.1Issue:When making a compound path detail is lost / lines seem thinner. This appears both on screen and in print. This creates an issue in file prep for screen printing as both the ink will clog in fine detail and the art does not stay consisten.This seems to be a known issue going back years but I all recomended resolutions do not fix the issue.The path is the same in conversion but both the art on the monitor and the printed output shows a considerable difference._____Please see atached  PDF and EPS file for reference. The forum wont let me post the Illustrator file for some reason. All have the same issue though - file format does not matter.____How can we fix this? What is the best way to prepress this for screen printing for consistent rendering?> j

I have a type to fix on an outlined badge in Arabic, once I place the text over a curve it breaks. Anyone have an idea how to do it?

I want to make a color picker style color wheel, somewhat like this, but with my own color selection:  Is there a way to do this by creating a segmented circle and then blending the colors of the segments together somehow? I want grayer colors in the center, so in fact I would have multiple segment circles of different diameters stacked on top of each other. After their interiors are blended, I would then need to blend them together radially. Or am I going about this all wrong: should I be using lines that are gray near the center and progressively more colorful on the ends and then have Illustrator blend the space between them?

Hi all,i've spend quite some time to name my layers with good, make-sense names and when I try to export Illustrator call them 'asset 1', asset 2', etc.. !I know i can rename them but it's really annoying and time consuming as I have hundred of assets to export !!can it pick up the name of the top layer automatically ?thanks !

After updating Adobe Illustrator (Beta) from 29.0 to 30.0 version, the Quick Pen Tool has been lost.Is there a way to fix it?Please provide instructions.Thanks.

Illustrator 29.8.1 bug:pressing the A shortcut-key does nothing, but it should display the node select tool.My other shortcut keys work.Adobe please, fix.

I don't know if this is a problem with the latest version or if I'm doing something wrong, but the eyedropper tool isn't selecting text attributes when they're inside an artboard, but it does select them when they're outside of an artboard. Is anyone experiencing this or know how to fix this? I've attached a video to help you understand more.

This is "O" text but expanded. You can see in the first image bounding box is in the ouside of the letter O with a black fill color . I made bounding box is inside the letter by but method is not precise. That mean thickness of the fill area remain the same when doing this convertion. Hi. I tried the latest version of Illustrator and made a copy of a vector path but it does not show up as mime type image/svg+xml any more on the clip board. What have changed? How should copy and paste to other applications work.?

Will Adobe ever enable Illustrator to import 16-bit images without downsampling them to 8-bit, and give us the gradients we need and deserve? My work involves painting a huge, very high-quality 400dpi PSB canvas in glorious 16-bit, then working the intricate, sharp detail as gradient vectors in Illustrator, where it's essential that I can match the colour values created in the PSB, but Illustrator's poor 8-bit interpretation means loss of quality, and the subtle changes in tone I carefully created are destroyed by hideous gradient-banding, and I am not able to create the art that I need. This is a problem that has been raised on this forums for many years, but while Adobe brings Illustrator into the 20th century by introducing more AI tools which I'll never use, they still fail to integrate the two important tools that should have been seamless a long time ago, and I don't understand why.I'm not asking for much, just for my files to be compatible so that I can create high-qua

I use illustrator for all of my whiteboard style cartoon drawings. http://russlaw.co.uk Illustrator has always worked well for me, as it allows multiple artboards and SVG export, and I can easily put my drawings into ToonBoon animation software which allows me to manipulate all of the lovely vectors for my animations. BUTI would love a keyboard shortcut for the brush fidelity. Can anyone tell me if one exists? When I am drawing buildings and boxes I increase the smoothness setting, and then add more accuracy for more organic things. Sometimes I need to switch quickly between these. I did find the ENTER key which opens the paintbrush tool options panel and speeds things up a bit.  Wondered if anyone else would find this useful?CheersRuss

I am currently using Illustrator CS6 on a PC but I might be moving to a MAC in the near future and I was wondering if the new version (Illustrator CC) can open native CorelDraw files?Basically I want to be able to open the files by bypassing CorelDraw altogether.I am currently running CorelDraw X6.Thanks

I am trying to create a custom tool bar in Ai. AFAIK I have completed all steps. Advanced is check in the New tool bar. However, I am not able to add tools. When I click on to add the tool it shows on the main tool bar panel and then tool removes itself from the Custom tool bar when I access Windows/Tool bar it does not show any tools.  Thanks

I assume at the top tool option is there to have a easy access to use the same tool again & again. What is purpose of having two times?   

In the latest version 29.3.1 of Illustrator, all the options for quick operations in my Properties panel are missing, as shown in the following picture. I'm not sure if I accidentally pressed a certain key or if there is a problem with the program.

How do I customize the control panel at the top of the screen? When I go to the control panel options and deselect items that I don't use, nothing happens. Also, I'm used to "Character" being on the far left and cannot move it from the center.

I have a question that has been bugging me for some time and the answer might be simple but I haven't quite figured it out yet.So, I have an object in a file, with certain custom color swatches attributed to it. I copy it and paste it into a new document, and sometimes, the custom swatches are automatically added to the swatches list, bust most of the times they dont and I have to add them manually, which is stupid.This seems random, happens either with CMYK or RGB color modes and it drives me crazy.Anyone can tell me why this happens?

I've got a bunch of scripts I made for work to make our lives easier.  Most repetitive, annoying tasks that my coworker and I face daily have been eliminated, and I'm working on more. There are a bunch now, ~25, so I made a script browser to make it easier for us to browse and launch the scripts.  There are 2 versions of it, an Extenscript one that she uses now, and a CEP version I've been working on that adds a lot of features that will significantly increase its usefulness and the development speed of our scripts (Mainly, it adds GitHub support for auto-updating and bug reporting). On my computer, all of this works perfectly.  Unfortunately, on her Mac, the CEP extension version is showing in her extensions menu, but when she launches the extension, the panel is blank, and not even the earliest of debug alerts will run, so the extension is not running at all.  Then I found out it's this way for all of her CEP extensions that she has tried; they show up, but w

Hey all!  I have been working with Illustrator for quite a while but ran into an issue that has me stumped and I am hoping someone here can help me out.  I am looking for a direct fix to my method if there is one, or any way to mimic the effect to get the desired result. So, the issue is with this effect I used on a portion of our company logo.  The way I went about creating the effect was as pictured below.  As all of our product packages are white I didn't think this far ahead and went about creating the effect as follows... used smaller rectangles with drop shadow applied and then use slightly larger white rectangles to cover the left hand side of each to get the desired effect of our logo is sliding under portions of our packaging. Now, I have the following issue.  We have grown and would like to release some mech in the form of tshirts... 'of various colors,' and therein lies the problem. If we just print the logo on say a blue shirt...
