Hello everyoneMy serious problem is that when I open the file ‘12012345_01_F.ai’ and save it as a PDF and replace the PDF file ‘12012345_01_F.pdf’ it creates a temporary file but doesn't replace the PDF and ends up damaging the file. I can only solve this if I'm doing the work directly on my mac, but here we work on a network and we save everything on a Mac Pro Server with AFP protocol (it's the best for doing searches on our server). I know that Adobe advises against working on a network, but despite having 1 TB of storage in the creative cloud, we don't want to work there. We have 4 imac's with the previous operating system, with the same versions of adobe illustrator and they don't have this problem. And the performance of saving on the network is slowwwwww. Mac OS Sequoia solve this? anyone know that?

Looking for a bit of help with this issue with replacing multiple linked/unembedded files in Illustrator. Background info:My team does a lot of design work for paper goods that require glitter or foil to be applied during the production process. Most of these items rely on the use of patterns within Illustrator to create seamless pieces from which items can be made by factories. When creating a "preview" of an item, we use JPEG/PNG files of the glitter/foil to be used so the client can imagine the end result. For the "production" part of the file, we use a solid fill to represent the glitter/foil so the factory knows where the embellishment should be put. In some cases, we also have to create a duplicate artboard of just the embellishment instances and need to "white-out" all other artwork. Keeping intricate patterns live within the file also takes up loads of space and slows down the viewing and editing process. The problem:We are looking for a way to quickly replace

I just did an update on my illustrator but now the print profile for "textiles 100% polyester rey/white, yadda yadda yadda"  missing from my options in the color management window when I try to print. How do I get these back?

Hi, I have this weird problem. Home Screen freezes. I can hoover on anything and the buttons change colours. But clicks are unresponsive. Also on the new document screen. The only fix that works is to turn on the legacy "file new" document in preferences. Not a cool fix but it works. I have used the Adobe Clean-up app tool and I have reset preferences many times. No effect.  Anyone have a bet on a fix for this issue?

I'm working on a project and using shapes ontop of one another with fills to hide geometry. I'm doing this becuase if I want to move the elements later the linework that is behind won't be destroyed, so I don't have to extend and retrim stuff. For some reason now when I fill with solid white at 100% opacity normal blend mode, it doesn't hide linework. It hides other fills, but not lines. I've tried messing around with layer order but it doesn't make any difference. Wether the fill is at the top of the layer stack or the bottom it doesn't change anything. It appears to only happen on this layer. If I move the object group to another layer, it behaves normally. However, if I draw new shapes on those other layers, it makes no difference, and the fills don't block their own lines either, so this is making me think I accidentally turned on some setting or something since it's happening with all new shapes, but then it mostly happens on the "Rear Lines" layer it seems so I can't tell. I

Reoccuring issue with Adobe apps using excessive memory. I'm getting pop-up warnings. For example, AI is open but no files open (18.92GB RAM), PS has 4 files open totaling less than 100MB file size using (33.09GB RAM). PS and ID are randomingly crashing without any crash report or pop-ups.   I've reopened PS, and still using 22GB with a couple small files open.   I really don't know where to go with this, but it's getting really frustrating.   On a side note: why is this forum forcing to select a topic with only choices unrelated.   MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021),  Apple M1 Max, 64GB Memory.

I work at a company where we share our files through a server. We want to be able to open the .ai files and for Illustrator to be able to look up for the files (which should have the same path as the author of the project's) by itself.Adobe After Effects already does this. Whenever one syncs a project and opens it, After Effects will take its time to pull every asset from the repository and then open with everything linked.Why can't Illustrator work the same way? Because as it is, we are forced to either disrupt our workflow by having to manually link the files everytime we have to work on a colleague's project, or have to embed the assets, which is not ideal since a lot of times we use layered photoshop .psd and embeding them converts them into a flatten image.

Is anyone else having trouble using Adobe Illustrator recently? Mine its crashing while trying to do simple tasks, when I try to close after using, it also crashes. I'm using the most recent version.

Hello. I recently did a clean install of windows everything has been fine except in illutsrator if the screen turns off after a period of inactivity when woken back up I cannot move any objects on the open illustrator document. The only fix is to quit and restart. This seems quite repeatable on my windows 11 machine, Anyone else seen this?

Hello,I’m encountering an issue with dynamic symbols in Illustrator and wanted to check if this is expected behavior.When I try to change the color of a single instance of a dynamic symbol (even something as simple as a rectangle), I select it using the Direct Selection Tool (A). However, when I choose a different colour, the color doesn’t change—nothing happens.If I use the Recolor Artwork function, all instances of the symbol are updated, rather than just the one I selected.Is this a known limitation (I was watching several videos and saw that it should work) or is it possibly a bug? I'm currently using Illustrator 29.6 on macOS 15.4.1.Thank you in advance!

HI, Image Trace in the 2025 version performs much poorer than previous versions from the last few years. It took me a while to figure it out but the new version has left off the Simplify check box and it seems to be stuck ON by default.  I'm an illustrator who scans my illustrations into illustrator and then uses Image Trace to vectorize them. With the "simplify" automatically on I am getting poor results and so have had to downgrade to AI 2024. Is there anyway to gain control of this again?  PS I'm still slightly annoyed Image Trace took away the old CS5 option to trace multiple files at once... big help when scanning in multiple frames for animation instead of doing them all one at a time. 

Hello!   I could use some help finding how to update my preferences for a recent issue that has started when exporting files as jpg.  Illustrator has started automatically adding the artboard name to the end of my file names, even with the suffix turned off.  I would like to have this feature turned off, however I am unable to find where this can be edited.   Illustrator v29.6.1PCMy Process: I go to File > Export > Export As .  Next, in the Export window, I select "Use Artboards", Range 1, and I have Suffix option unchecked.  Then I click Export.  On the JPEG Option window, I make any adjustments needed then click OK.  When I go to review the file, the file name has the artboard name suffix.  (pictures attached)Thank you for any advice 🙂

Hello guys,After thinking i was going crazy, i realized every time i export a pdf from illustrator the colors are different. For example, i'm doing a design that needs to be 100%k, multiple artbords (that i export singularly), and it exports in other color codes. Same thing happens if i only export the resources.  I'm already working on CMYK, how can i solve this? It's for work and it really can't keep happening. It didn't always do this, just from a month or so.  First screen is how i save it for export, second what i find once exported. Please help, it's literally useless this way! 

hi dear friends,  iam in the Brushtool and am trying to use the brushtool in combination with the "option-Key" to resize the Brushes. But it wont work. Instead i get a small dialbar and a message on the screen "too smooth a action, select its anchorpoints with the direct selection Tool and adjust the slider"But when i go to my Illustrator Shortcutslist, i can not find the mapping to the "option-Key".What can i do to change this behavior to resizing the brush?  - i have deinstalled and reinstalled older versions (same problem) Now iam in the latest version 29.6.1 again.- iam using the english version of Adobe and my Keyboard is the Apple Magic Keyboard with Iso(european) Layout. Could this make a problem? Nooby Ps: I have a hard time finding the Bracket keys on my Magickeyboard. I have tryed every possible key Command to change the Brushessize manually with any keycomb to find the Bracketkeys. Can anyone give me a helpin hand somehow? Running Mac Sequo

I have been trying to change the default image trace option, as I would like to create a script that utilizes image tracing how do I do this? 

I have created a circle with inner glow effect. After exporting the Image as SVG, the circle becomes flat without effect. But in 2020 I have created another file of same type. That SVG file contains several cicles with different color to maintain the effect.What is the solotion?

Illustrator 2020 run 100% CPU usage with no file opened. I just started the program and it immediately slow down my PC. Help! 

Good Evening,I have a user with Adobe Illustrator 2024 that updated to the latest version on Thursday and his Illustrator is constantly crashing. It seems to get stuck at VectorizeUI.aip and just sits there. If you touch the program at all it will stop responding and windows will ask to end the process. Hi, Everytime I click on a object, it doesn't get selected but sticks to the cursor instead.This is very ennoying when you expect it to only select the object, not moving it. Is there a solution for it? Thanks,Daniël

Hi there. Illustrator prevents Windows 11 from sleeping mode. Instead, the screen goes off and the pc's fans run like crazy. Looked everywhere to find the solution to this issue with no luck. Any ideas?Thank you!

split into grid fails to add guides, even though I specifically check the "add guides" checkbox

Hi, I am writing a UI that can have a user put in a row and column amount that is generated within the UI on the fly, then passing each new icon button into a function that assigns a task to it. The task is to then allow a dialog to open upon 'OnClick' that allows the user to select a required design to be assigned to that part of the grid. Once the design is chosen I want the icon button image to update to give a visual representation of that design i.e. a star, a hat, a bell etc.Does anyone know how to update an image within an icon button?I have tried all sorts with the likes of drawImage(), newImage() etc. but just no joy. Examples of some of the things I have tried below but can't seem to get it to work:iconbutton1.image = iconbutton1.newImage(File.decode(iconbutton1_imgStringNEW));iconbutton1.graphics.drawImage(iconbutton1.image = newImage(File.decode(iconbutton1_imgStringNEW)),0,0); Any help would be greatly appreciated.
