How to unclick a radio button choice without choosing another radio button from the same group

When I create an InDesign document that is an interactive pdf, and I have radio buttons, how can I set up those radio buttons so that I can unclick an option without clicking any of the other options that are in that group? Chat GPT said I couldn't do this as of the info it has ending Sept 2021. It did mention a reset the entire form option which is not a good option. Does anyone in the community have a simple fix for this? Thank you

That is the nature of radio buttons.

You could a.) make a reset button to only reset those two fields or b.) provide a neutral button, for example

    • Yes
    • No
    • Prefer not to answer

Another approach: You could use check boxes instead of radio buttons.

That's what I'm doing at this point. But that isn't ideal either as both boxes could be checked which causes a different set of headaches for this form. Thank you Steve!

InDesign PDF forms uses a subset of features from Acrobat so they work the same way.

The short answer is there is not easy obvious way with radio buttons. You should close the document without saving then open the document again:

You need to ask program questions in the forum for the program you are using
To ask in the forum for your program please start at https://community.adobe.com/
Moving from Using the Community (which is about the forums) to the correct forum
