I have a script in InDesign, it essentially taken a selection of objects, groups them, creates crop marks, puts these on a temp document which resizes to the content and gives a dialog for PDF export options, finally returning to the original document.    When the colour profile doesn't match, the paste operation of the script triggers the profile mismatch dialog. I wonder if there is a way of supressing or ignoring this, or changing the values for this specific instance and returning them after the script finishes?    Thanks!    <Title renamed by MOD>    

Hello everyone,I'm handling a document where I need to manage a Table of figures. Since it's quite a technical document, the captions are sometimes a bit long. I'd like to include in the ToF only a part of them. For example: "Figure 1: General envelope. The blablablalbla": I'd like to have only "Figure 1: General envelope" in the ToF.  My first idea was to use two paragraph styles (let's say Figures and FiguresNOTOF) and use the former in the ToF, but I can't help having a line break in the caption, which should be avoided.  I browsed some discussions here but I couldn't find the best way to achieve this.What's the best strategy here? Thank you!  

I am trying to copy one page out of Document A to Document B. Both documents, AFAIK, share the same page sizes? Yet when I activate the Page > Move page command, after selecting my options and pressing the OK button, I get this warning  (French UI):   In essence, it's telling me that InDesign refuses to move the page to Document B because the page "format" is different from Document A. I wish that command would let the poor user know what page format attribute is different? It's not enough to reject the user needs without offering any kind of help. Have a heart, Mr Adobe! FWIW, both documents are single page, Letter size with zero margins and no bleeds. I could have 1) Select All, 2) Copy , 3) Paste the content into an empty Document B page manualy. I know. Hi,I have a problem which was resolved before, but the solution previously used doesn't work anymore for whatever reason.I have a Google Sheet with multiple hyperlinks per cell (see attached screenshot). I have to copy and paste the words with the related hyperlink in a table in Indesign (see attached). Hyperlinks are not automatically pasted from Google Sheets to Indesign. In the past I used to copy every single cell in Microsoft Words and copy the words with the links from there to Indesign. This solution worked and allowed me to copy both text and hyperlinks. This solution doesn't seem to work anymore. I have tried to download the Sheet as an .xlsl file. If I open the .xlsl file with Numbers (I am on a Mac), the whole cell only retains the first hyperlink, so all words copied into Indesign are subsequently all linked to the same hyperlink within a cell. If I open the file with Microsoft Excel for web, it copies the words but not the hyperlinks.I am at a loss, it is a 50 pa

I have a list of Topics for the Index. I'm updating a book from a couple years ago with additional content. This includes new mentions of exisisting topics, but I've also added a couple more Topics to the Topic list. When generating the Index, whether replacing the existing Index or adding a brand new Index from scatch; the page numbers of existing references update, but no new references are added.   For instance, "Term A" is a Topic previously referenced and listed in the Index. Previously, it was only mentioned on page 280. That original mention is now on page 288 as new content pushed it down a few pages. The change from 280 to 288 DOES update in the Index after regenerating; but there are two completely new references to that same term on different pages that were not present before are not showing in the Index after regenerating.    Similarly, "Term Z" was only now added to the Topic list. Hi, I've been having a problem lately when saving interactive pdfs with renders from keyshot. The renders are saved as pngs, and ive tried a bunch of different settings on both keyshot and InDesign. When saved as any other type of pdf, it looks fine but I need to save them as interactive for work.  If anyone has any suggestions for settings or solutions, that would be much appreciated!   Ive Attached screenshots of the images in the pdf. Can someone tell me how I supply a double page spread map to KDP please? When I worked in house we used to split the map with 3mm either side of the gutter so we didnt lose parts of the map when printing. I've done this but KDP is not happy with the file. Its the only double page spread in the book and it doesn't bleed off the outside edges. Thanks. 

Dear community or Adobe staff, after updating to Indesign 2025 yesterday, I've noticed the following with individual table modifications: If I create a table and would like to customize e.g. some of its horizontal lines, I therefore select the relevant areas in the table itself and then select the horizontal lines to be modified in the control bar (the grid-scheme in the upper horizontal control bar). Previously, I was able to edit modifications for a certain selected area again and again – Indesign remembered the area and I was able to change e.g. line thicknesses, colours etc. as required as often as I wanted.Now this grid scheme behaves quite strangely: Sometimes it activates all lines in a table , sometimes it activates the outer lines or other times it activates a vertical line … but never the part that I edited before and I that I want to change.As this is quite difficult to describe in words only, I have made a screencast. I'm trying to post charts from one InDesign file to another.  The chart I'm trying to paste has hand-made fractions in them. The font is superscript and baseline shifted. When I paste it into a new document, the text loses all that formatting. It seems like a preferance thing, but I can't find it.

I'm currently storing all my design files on Zoho Workdrive, which is an online platform for file synchronization, storage, and collaboration. However, when I try to use "save as" in Indesign to rename a design, the program crashes. Saving a copy of the file works fine, though.I am using Indesign 2025.Any help would be appreciated     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello everyone!I need a help. I need to duplicate a page X times. I had the TOC numbering and styling all worked out, but now my client wants the chapter numbers to right align. (Everything else is great.) I know this has been covered elsewhere in the discussions, but I've not found a solution. (I even tried formatting based on a kind expert's sample, but it didn't work for me.) Our magazine had a print issue and I am trying to figure out what went wrong--I was not involved in this issue and I want to prevent this problem from arising again.   The attached images show the background color of the page does not match when there are objects or text in front of it. The "background" of the text/objects should be transparent, so there should be no color difference.  Keep in mind, there is no highlight on the text, and the issue does not show up in the PDFs--only in print.   Can anyone help figure out what went wrong? I'm having some trouble with a print error (The Adobe Print Engine has failed to output your data due to an unknown problem). I've trouble-shooted with some articles on here and gone through the steps in this post: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/error-print-engine-failed-print.html   I was able to print the document through the workaround of exporting to a PDF, but want to know the reason why it was getting that error. I've run into this issue with a few files before, but had no luck figuring out the reasoning. Usually, the files that have the error have been originally set up by someone else or are a copy of a file.    In addition to the suggestions in the post linked above, I've tried trouble-shooting by isolating out layers/objects, etc. and re-sending to print to try to find the direct issue. No luck with this either.    Any suggestions? I've seen articles going back years with this same issue, but no clear reasoning for why.     <Tit

For some unknown reason, I lost a custom font that I had used in an Indesign document. It was available for 2 years, but now it is missing!   I need to know 2 things: 1. Hey everyone,  I have been diving into data merging with Indesign and absolutely loving it. Here is a catalog I created for the company I work for. I also have started to utilize separate .indd files to place pages from an indesign file into another indesign document. This has made my documents more editable in a helpful way.   I ran into some difficulty using data merge and placed documents. So, I am curious how some of you might approach this task with inDesign.    In one .indd, I have laid out a hang tag for retail products. Image below   In another, I "placed" the hang tag on a 13x19 sheet for print.   I like this approach because when I edit the hang tag, it automatically updates all instances of it in my hang tag layout. However, I am not able to Data Merge to a placed document, AFAIK. And we have close to 500 product variants to create hang tags for, so Data Merge is absolutely necessary.    I'm thinking I need to bite the bullet and simply r

I have an interactive form set up in Indesign CS6 and have muliple check boxes, I have them set to only appear when clicked, however our client would like it so that when one is clicked it won't let you click the others, so bascially is there are 10 check boxes, only allow you to click 1.Kind regardsMark

Hello, I am putting together a ebook and created a table of contents for it.  However, when I open the book in Mac's Books app, the table of contents changes.  It turns blue and the page numbers get pushed over to the chapter headings. I have 2 documents, both with hyperlinks at certain points in the text. If I want to copy text passages (with hyperlinks) on the 1st document & paste them into another (2nd document), the complete structure of the linking is lost.Absurdly, links appear in the wrong places & these get completely mixed up.     <Title renamed by MOD>
