My entire lightroom catalog is in a folder called dropbox cache and I cannot reconnect it to my photos which are on an external hard drive. I have tried many fixes but nothing seems to work. The folders in dropbox cache all have question marks and when I try to connect the missing folder to my hard drive - nothing happens. The only thing that works is reconnecting individual photos manually. I have over 100,000 photos and this would take forever.
Hello! I found an issue where LR does not change the custom color profile when a preset is applied to a RAW file. I have the profile as a part of the preset and I have to remember to change it manually which is a bit annoying. My older version worked fine but I had to upgrade due to a new computer and found this bug. I even tried creating a new preset with the said profile, which doesn't work either. I can change the profile just fine in the profile browser. Anyone else came across this issue and has a solution? Thanks!
It seems ever since I updated Lightroom Classic to v10.3, Lens Profile Correction and Remove Chromatic Aberration are automatically applied upon import. I've searched and tried chaging the Raw Defaults in Preferences to Camera Defaults and Adobe Default, and both still apply these two settings upon Import. Does anyone know how disable this? I prefer uploading my RAW files without any settings applied during import.
LR 14.1.1 on Mac OS 15.3. When saving metadata to files on servers, LR causes all servers (even servers that aren't even loaded in the catalog/being saved to) to be disconnected with no error messages. This doesn't happen with Photo Mechanic or Bridge when doing the same metadata editing, so it seems to be something LR is causing. Also didn't happen in the past with other combinations of LR and Mac OS versions.
Has anyone ever had the issue of not being able to paste settings from one photo to another within the develop panel in lightroom classic? I have been using this program for years and have never had this bug before. I just purchased a new laptop and was working on some photo edits and had been copying and pasting develop settings to other various photos all day and then all of the sudden I was unable to actually paste the settings in the develop view. If I copy the settings from one photo, then click on the library tab, I can then paste the settings. After doing this if I navigate back to the develop tab I can see that the photo settings have been pasted. I have tried resetting preferences, uninstalling/reinstalling the app, installing older versions of the app, restarting my machine etc. Has anyone ever experienced this that can provide any sort of insight? Thank you!
Good evening I have a 2015 mac. It won't install the sequoia update. Only Monterey. When using LR Classic everything freezes. How can the situation be saved? The freezing is affected by the software or you really need to change the computer for faster operation. I have intel core i 5 and 8gb ram and SSD
Using Lightroom Classic 9.3, MacOS 10.14.6 I'd like to copy the EXIF values from one photo to another in Lightroom Classic. If I use Sync Metadata it only includes the IPTC data. The EXIF data is left behind.Likewise, if I right click on a photo and go to Metadata Presets->Copy Metadata, I'm presented with the Copy Metadata panel, but the only elements available are IPTC, there's no way to select EXIF data. The attached screen shot shows the data I'd like to transfer from one photo to another. The "why" behind this is I edited the photo in an external editor, which lost all the EXIF data, so I'd like to replace it with the original. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Buenos días, tengo un problema con lightroom classic y es que no inicia en windows 10 pero si que aparece el proceso en el administrador de tareas. ¿Sabrian darme alguna solución? Gracias
How do I apply auto exposure to a group of selected photos? When I do this it only applies the setting to the first photo I selected in the group. When I go to "copy develop settings" and the paste onto the group of the remaining photos they all inherit the EXACT exposure develop settings of the first photo—while I want Lightroom to auto exposure for each photo individually—since the original exposure is different for each.
Can anyone help. I have a macbook with the lastest sonoma 14.3.1I updated to lightroom classic 13.1Everything was fine yesterday - but just now when I select an image in develop - it darkens - it is doing this with all of them, even if they were previously edited. Is this a known issue? Is there anything I can do? Help - I am a bit of a technophobe - but this is really troubling me. Sending two images - one in library - same image after a second in develop (the darker image)
Hi all, I'm at a loss as this has never happened. I keep getting a "Sorry, an error occurred" message whenever I open lightroom. I'm on a deadline and can't seem to get it to work. I uninstalled and re-installed. And it is the latest version from what I can tell. Anyone else having this issue?? any tips?
I spent a few hours using AI denoise on some images, with a few other minor tweaks, all to my satisfaction. When I ame back to the images an hour later to show my wife, all the images had reverted to the state they were in before the denoising.
I recently bought a new Macbook Pro (M4), after years of using Windows.I put all my photos on an external SSD drive (Kingston SX2000), and I transfered the old catalog files from windows to the new mac. When connecting the drive and trying to move between photos/folders in Lightroom, the app freezes. Trying to open the drive in Finder causes Finder to freeze too. When physically disconnecting the drive (ejecting doesn't work as well....), everything is back to normal. Sometimes it works OK, but most of the time it doesn't. When Lightroom is off, the drive works without any problem. On windows 10, no problems too. Reinstalling won't help. Lightroom version: 14.1.1 MacOS: Sequoia 15.3 The drive is exFAT. Any help? Thanks [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
When you move a folder in Lightroom, the interface resets and scrolls back to the top. This can be particularly frustrating when dealing with a long list of files, such as archiving folders on a server. Secondary Display panel will randomly close by itself when switching between modules of Develop and Library. This is quite consistend. Right Click > Edit in PS only works sometimes with large TIFFs. Usually It’ll say “Syncing Metadata” then do nothing. One has to do this a few times. A huge bug... When saving a TIFF in another program like PS, the TIFF's preview will update correctly in Library mode, but switch to Develop mode and it’ll display the old TIFF. No way to fix this until you close and reopne LRc With Publish Services, when you publish a virtual copy of a photo (and also remove the original photo from the collection), it uploads first and then gets deleted immediately. This means no photo actually gets published. If the delete process happens before the upload proce
I'm using LR Classic 4.0.1. it was fine for a while and now randomly it is terrible at importing. When i plug in my SD card it counts every photo like 1, 2, 3 all the way to like 2348 photos (for example). I don't know why it's doing this? Normally it doesn't count it, it automatically knows how many photos I have on my SD card and I can click import within a few seconds. Now it takes ages as I'm just waiting for Lightroom to count from 0-2348 until I can click the import button. I've tried optimizing my catalog and that doesn't help
Lightroom Classic version: 13.5.1 [ 202408271704-d15d09cd ]Operating system: Windows 11 - Business EditionVersion: 11.0.22631 Repro Steps1. Open Lightroom in Library Module2. Click on any image thumbnail3. After a few seconds, image loses all Develop edits and Metatdata status says: "Metadata has been changed"; This is happening on ALL images. Executing a "Read metadat from file" action recovers the data but this is crazy-making. This issue only started recently on the prior version of Lightroom AND persists on the most recent version; to the best of my knowlege I have made no Lightroom or other configuration changes recently.
I can't stop all my images reverting to black and white when I open them in developer mode LRC, they were shot and imported in colour,
I recently switchced from Windows to a Macbook Pro. My catalog is fine but my collections are grayed out. I can import new photos but can't access photos in existing collections. Any help would be appreciated.
When you share a picture by making a collection "Public", viewers have an opportunity to add comments to that collection when they view it on the web. That comment can then be viewed below the metadata panel back in Lightroom Classic. My question is how can you select and isolate only those pictures that have comments. I'd prefer to do this with a "Smart Collection" or using a tool such as "Any Filter". I can't seem to find those comments in a smart collection. I have an example of the comment in the two screen shots I attached. One shows the comment in the web collection. The other screen shot shows it in Lightroom Classic.
I do studio photography. I connect my camera (Canon 70D) to my Windows-based laptop using the tethered-capture setting in Lightroom Classic so the model can see the photo in Lightroom Classic on a larger screen than the back of my camera.I recently bought a new laptop, an ASUS Q533M Notebook. My setup worked fine with my previous laptop (an HP laptop), but with my new ASUS laptop, the system goes to sleep after almost every photo I take and I have to re-log in. I take photos quickly enough that the system should stay active and not go to sleep. Having to log in before every photo is very problematic.I don't know if it's an issue with ASUS, Lightroom Classic, Canon, or what.Has anyone else had this issue?
Hi, I have an issue with HDR monitor. When I disable the GPU for display everything is displayed correctly but when I turn it on the image is washed out in highlights. I've attached two sreenshots presenting this issue. The monitor is philips 27m1n5500za, and GPU is AMD RX7800XT with newest drivers. Also note - I have to use HDR on my display for correct colors, in SDR everyting is super saturated and it's impossible to fix (I'm comparing this images to images on my OLED laptop and phone to be sure colors adre correct and olny HDR is giving my those colors). This issue is present inf Lr and LrC I'm not sure if it's fixable, I probably can only use CPU for editing but I'm worried it's gonna be slow. Correction for second screenshot: the image isn't brighter on my screen, just highlights are "squashed". The background is still medium gray.
I sometimes use tethered capture, but not that often. To my unpleasant surprise, it hasn't worked for some time, even though I followed all the steps to fix the problem. I even did a new installation of LrC (w. uninstall and clearing registers), assigned absolute rights to the folder where the photos were supposed to be saved, and LrC still gives an error message about the impossibility of saving to any selected location. I have Windows 10 with all updates and the latest version of LrC 14.1.1. Please don't ask me to do a clean install of Windows and then go through version by version and find out where it stops working, because you get paid for that. Smart Shooter 5 in the latest version (trial 5.8) works absolutely flawlessly! :((
The people masking tool has started creating rectangular masks when I select people. Any solution on how I can get the mask to be applied properly? The problem started some weeks ago. Below is an example showing the mask generated. Below is an example where I have increased the exposure for the generated mask. I am using Lightroom Classic 14.1.1 and Camera Raw 17.1. I get the same issue in Photoshop when using Camera Raw. I use a Microsoft Surface Pro 10 for Business with 64 GB RAM. [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
I have created a large lightroom catalog with all my individual photos from projects over many years. After importing my photos into the lightroom catalog I then create one or more collections to sort the photos im more logical subcollections. I then start editing from there. If a photo is rejected I delete it from the collection resulting in a usable set of photo's once I'm done. This works fine for me but now I realised I have a lot of clutter on my hardisk from rejected photo's that will neveer be seen or used again. I would like to clean up these rejected pictures from my harddisk so I am looking to find a way to delete all pictures in my lightroom catalog from disk if they are not used in a collection. Any input would be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot
I am new to Lightroom Classic, but I've had the cloud version for a while. When I make edits on Lightroom Classic, the edits are synced to my cloud Lightroom. However, when I go into my desktop folders where those images are stored locally, they are in the original format. I was under the impression that lightroom classic would sync everything. Am I missing something? Do I need to re-download/export them to my desktop now that I have edited them?Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
