I have attemped the previous solutions posted in 2023. I do not have the "metrics.json" folder and have shut off the desktop app usage as dicusses in the previous posts. Are there any other solutions that will solve this? Thanks! Paula [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules. On MacOS 14.6.1, M1 MacBook Pro 16 inch, using an Apple Studio Display as the main Lightroom window. Since I installed the latest Lightroom update, Secondary Window behavior has been very flaky. It keeps showing the secondary window on the Studio display, on top of the main application window. And sometimes switches the main window to the Macbook Pro screen. And when I do get the secondary display working on the Macbook pro screen, it sometimes has it too large, at Studio Display size so it gets cut off. Is anybody else seeing this? Any way to fix it? Is it at least a known issue that Adobe is working on? This arrangement has been working perfectly for years before this.
I've just discovered that the Whites slider doesn't behave the way I have always thought it behaved, and as an LR user since 2006, and a frequent user of Whites since it was introduced, I'm wondering whether it has always been this way and whether this is the intended behavior. Here's a short timelapse video illustrating the problem. Note how the sky is suddenly darker in a few frames. Note also that the darker frames are the ones with light in the foreground (which is caused primarily by people in the foreground using red flashlights). These were shot on a Nikon D850 using the built-in intervalometer (13 second exposure every 15 seconds), in manual mode (and manual everything) with Active D-Lighting disabled. They were then all processed identically in Lightroom Classic (using manual adjustments, no auto anything). The video was then created using the Slideshow module.I have confirmed that they're all identical (and that Active D-Lighting is disabled) by carefully comparing t
Hello, everyone. Starting with version 13.3, when creating a 1:1 preview, Lightroom started to do it several times slower, and with large volumes, it starts to annoy you when you create only previews all day. Let me know if anyone else has noticed this!

- Procesador
Hi, Curious as how it would be possible for several photographers and editors in a studio to collaborate in a Lightroom Classic setting. If there would be two assistant photographers and the owner, how could these get the new images into the main Lightroom environment? If they are physically on the same location I guess bringing over SD cards to the main editing computer would be possible, but could this be accomplished over the Internet somehow? Similarly, after selecting images to be edited the raw images or PSD files should be delegated to offsite editors, and then transferred back after editing. How could this be accomplished in a Lightroom Classic environment? Or, is it impossible with LrC? Could these kinds of use cases be supported by Lightroom CC? But then, I have understood that application is limited compared to classic in the organising and editing department. Or, could these two worlds somehow be combined? Rgds, Carolina
I have made some kind of error trying to move my photos to a new Hard Drive H. As far as I know I followed the Lightroom Queen steps but obviously not carefiully enough. The photos are on the drive ok and I can see them in Lightroom if I search hard enough. At the top of the screen ADD is highlighted which I press and nothing seems to happen. At the bottom there is Done and Import. I have tried Done with no apparent effect but do not press Import as I made that mistake last time.m I would be very grateful for any help in resolving this. Hi. I have been using Denoise AI feature on Lightroom Classic and Lightroom. I am relatively new to this software. Since last month, Denoise AI Enhance Process is not completing and leaves no error message as well. It processes upto around 90% and suddenly stops and shows no photo displayed. However the feature continues to work in Lightroom and having issue with only Lightroom Classic. Today I did update lightroom classic and it did not solve the issue.I am using Macbook M1 Pro with MacOS 14 Can someone help me in troubleshooting this issue ? Hi everyone, can anyone tell me what enabling the "Enable HDR in Library" tickbox does?I have been editing in HDR since the feature came out without having to explicitly enable the feature. Today when I loaded LR I got the tips dialog box and it said "In Preference dialog, go to Performance tab to enable HDR in Library." Curious, I went there, and it was unticked. And yet the HDR button was there all along above my develop sliders. So I ask, what does toggling this box actually do?! Thank you so much!
Over the last couple of years I have had experienced more and more issues with Lightroom Sync. When it worked, it might take a day or two for even a small album of 10 images to sync but it would get there eventually. After a while it would stop altogether and I would have to rebuild sync data to get it to update itself. Now I find I cant get even that to work. When I try to 'Rebuild Sync Data' it closes Lightroom (back-up already saved) and reopens immeadiately with no rebuild. I have done the usual log out/log in, click on collections and deselect. I have recently unclicked all collections but they are all still included in sync. I have checked 'View Sync Staus' and there is nothing listed there yet, LRC is stuck trying to sync 418 images and has been for a number of days. I am running Mac OS Sonoma v14.5, LRC v13.4
I exported my photo's and catalogue to an extern hard disk.No problems, but the date behind the maps on the left side are greyed out.How can I fix this?
Hi! How can I update LR 6.14 (1 PC) to the Photo Abo (1 TB) How to synchronize PC with a new Laptop (cloud?), how to transfer picture files, library, presets etc.
Hey folks!Do you have any idea as to what happened to Lightroom Classic.I used it today after a couple of months and, of course, I updated to the latest version. As soon as I open a picture, the memory usage spikes to 10Gb and it freezes even after the simplest edit.It can take even one minute to move between pictures while in development mode.So far I tried to:Update the graphic card driversSet the GPU usage on Lightroom settings to AutoCleared the cache on Lightroom Even created a brand new catalog and uploaded like 10 pictures (RAW). As it is right now there's no way I can use it for work. And I can confirm that this never occurred to me in the past so I would think that the latest update messed things up. I read online and it seems I'm not the online one with this issue. Is Adobe doing something about this?
Sonoma MacOS & Lightroom Classic (Latest Version) Recently I bought an external SSD and moved all my photos to that drive. My Catalog too.I want my LR backup to be on the external drive., I want to free up my computer from any large file systems. I do not care about having the backup and the catalog in the same drive, as it is backed up online daily. If I lose the drive, I still have online access. That drive is synced online with dropbox. Now I am trying to backup my catalog and I get this error: "Please check your folder permissions, and make sure that you have available space on your backup drive and main catalog's drive."To make sure the external drive was not the issue, I changed my backup folder location to my laptop's SSD. I still get the same error. I also created a new catalog and imported the old one, still get the same error. What else can I do?
Anyone else having issues with Lightroom Classic? It suddenly changed the colors of my images, so I restarted my computer and now it will not even launch from Creative Cloud.
I am using Lightroom Classic V 13.5 and many actions ar now suddenly taking a very long time to execute, eg deleting images takes a few minutes while the system "gathers information" even changing the rating of a single image takes so much longer. this is making the software almost unusable. I have my images and catalogues on an SSD drive to speed things up and its now slower than ever. IM on a iMac i5 Quad Core with 64GB of ram.
I use Lightroom as a catalog. All of my photos have a copyright date set as an import preset for the current year - in this case 2024. If I export a file to a new name (for example to edit in Evoto) but in the same client folder, it doesn't automatically show up in my LR catalog - of course! I have checked the exported file to see that the copyright date is still 2024. Next, I synchronize my folder to bring the exported file with the new name into the catalog. When I do that, the copyright date (in the Preset field at the top of the metadata box) is reset to 2018 instead of the original copyright date. This sure feels like a user error somehow, but I don't know where to start looking. I have checked my LR preferences and catalog settings. I initially thought it was Evoto doing it - NO. Then I thought PS was doing it - NO. Now I realize it is happening when I synchronize the folder. Any ideas what it going on and how to fix it? Thanks
It says it can't find the file when I click learn more it says to make sure the file is in the same folder which it is as seen in this screenshotWhen I click continue it pops up with thisProplem:This happend after lightroom said it had an update. If anyone has any idea how to fix this please respond!
Client reported error message when trying to backup due to lack of space on hard drive. They contacted Adobe and they created a new catalog but the problem still exists. It backed up one time then fails on subsequent tries. Catalog and backups are on Internal Mac HD with over 400 GB of available, images on externals. Tried a new catalog tried moving backups to a new location Checked permissions on drive and folders Any other suggestions? Mac Sonoma 14.5 Lightroom Classic 13.5
I may remember this incorrectly. Or something changed. As I remember it, when you choose to Edit in Photoshop (from LrC), upon finishing your edits in PS, if you choose "Save As" instead of "Save", the finished photo would not import into the LrC catalog automatically. To Clarify, two workflows as I remember in the past: In LrC select a photoSelect Edit In PSAccomplish the editsIn PS select "Save"In LrC, the new image appears in the catalog or In LrC select a photoSelect Edit In PSAccomplish the editsIn PS select "Save As"In LrC, the new image does not appears in the catalog, you would need to SYNC. So, am I remembering urban folklore, or has something changed Oh, and:LrC v13.5PS 25.11.0WIN 11Files tested are Fuji RAF.PS save as TIFFCatalog and photos on local hard drives, OneDrive not used, Cloud not used. I previously had a MacBook Air from 2013. I use Lightroom and have always had it set up with the catalog and photos on an external hard drive to save space on my internal hard drive. I recently purchased a MacBook Pro 2020 with the new m1 chip. I had seen that Adobe Lightroom was supposed to be compatible (and run native), so I assumed no issues to upgrade. Now, when I try to open my catalog on the new computer I get an error message saying "Lightroom cannot open the catalog named "xxx" located on volume "yyy" because Lightroom cannot save changes to this location." with a further message that "Lightroom Catalogs can not be opened on network volumes, removable storage, or read only volumes." Can catalogs no longer be housed on external hard drives? If so, how do you solve moving between computers? And if a catalog can still be housed on an external hard drive, any idea what my mistake is?
Hi. I replaced the graphics card and for some time I have had a problem as in the image below. The blur is very strong and misses the point. I don't know how to describe it so that you understand me.
