Case 1 -  HEIC

LRC rejects an heic file that was updated with Topaz Photo AI.

I selected a file in LRC and selected  File -> Plug-in Extras -> Process with Topaz Photo AI.   I updated the file in Topaz and selected save.   The file was written to disk but LRC would not import the file and Adobe Bridge would not display it (double click opened the file in Photoshop)

I was able to import the file into the Apple Photos app on Mac Sonoma,  I was also able to open with PHOTOSHOP Beta 25.2.0 as well as PHOTOSHOP 25.0.0

Case 2 - Right Clicking the photo and selecting Edit in -> Topaz Photo AI

This approach allowed me to use a TIFF file in Topaz,  repair the photo and select Save.   This worked as expected, the file was imported into LRC without issues.

What is the source device? A camera? A iPhone?

Photos were taken on iPhone iOS 16 then exported from photos on a Mac and then imported into LRC without any issues.

Topaz may be creating a modified HEIC file that doesn't conform with what LR supports:

"Although modern camera devices provide the capability to capture HEIF/.heic photos and HEVC (H.265) videos, Lightroom and Camera raw support HEIF/.heic files created with iOS and Android devices."

This article is out-of-date. LR 12.3 added support for HIF files (which are HEIF). Nevertheless, I think it's likely that Topaz is generating a flavor of HEIC (there are many) that LR doesn't support.

Does Topaz provide an option for saving the processed photo in a different format, e.g. TIFF? If not, I suggest contacting Topaz support about this.
