Lightroom “edit in photoshop” button only works with some photos

Lightroom pretends to load the photo for 1 second and then nothing happens. I found some photos work and some don't. The photos were apart of a group and were uploaded to Lightroom all in the same fashion and same folder. I don't understand what would cause only a couple of the photos to work and open in photoshop and others not, especially within the group of photos that were all uploaded the exact same way, all together, into the same folder.
