Hi everyone,Has anyone here ever been asked by a printing house not to use the LZW TIFF format?I have to say, LZW compression has always been incredibly useful for me when working with billboard or large banner files, and until a recent request from a print shop, I’d never heard of any issues with using it for print.I haven’t yet received an explanation from them, so I’ve been digging through forums trying to understand what the potential problems might be. Unfortunately, I’ve found very little—just a few hints suggesting that some RIPs may not fully support LZW, which could lead to major issues when interpreting the file.If anyone would be willing to share their experience on this topic, I’d really appreciate it.What exactly causes the issue? Is it something that happens often, or could it just be outdated software on the print shop’s end?Maybe most printing houses just re-save LZW TIFFs before printing, without informing the designer?Thanks in advance for any insights!

For some reason every time I open the color balance window now it opens up with my most recently used settings, which are literally always wrong for each new image I wish to adjust. I assume some setting was accidently set somewhere to cause this. Where is it, and how do I change it back?

I want to sharpen a Layer and watched PHLEARN's video on youtube which used this worfklow: 1.  Dup layer2.  Desaturate the layer3. Make the layer a Smart Object4. Change Blend mode from Normal to Overlay5. Go to Filter, Other, High Pass, adjust slider6.  Create Layer Mask.  Fill with Black7.  Paint with White to reveal sharpened areas. Screen shot 1 shows how things look after the first step, duping the Layer.  Screen shot 2 shows at step 3, after desaturating the Layer and making it a Smart Object.  Screen shot 3 shows after the blending change., and screen shot 4 shows at step 5, after creating the High Pass Filter.     My questions are: - why is the SO Layer so dark in screen shot 3?  -  is this a referred method of sharpening?  The PHLEARN guy said he liked it better than using the Sharpen tool.   Before and after shots in screen shots 5 & 6.  I guess it's better but th

Hi there, I couple weeks ago got a new MacBook Pro and have encountered an error when using Photoshop.I'll get a "Could not complete the Export As command because of a program error" error when I tried to export images whether it's on the canvas or on artboard(s).Our IT guys checked on my system but they seems not able to fix it.We've also tried almost every possible ways that we can find, including update to the newest version, downgrade to the previous version, delete preference settings, disable graphic card driver, checking the permission to access disk, and so on, but none of them work.So I'm wondering if has there anyone encountered the same issue? Down below I've attached the snapshots of the error message and the info of my laptop.Thank you. Terry 

ちょっとしたことですが、特定色域の選択のインターフェイスがつい最近のアップデート(26.9.0)で変わったようです。補色とグラデーションになったことが自分には使いづらいです。元のインターフェイスに戻す方法はないでしょうか？

I have been a user of Adobe products for like 3 decades I think. This is the WORSE release I have EVER worked with.    I'm not sure what is going on at Adobe [cursing removed]! It is SUPER SLOW now, several changes in the way you do things now that have been the same for decades, crashes all the time, if you open a file from my network share though PS it locks the whole laptop up. I'm on Mac.    I get the Gen AI add ons... But NEVER [removed by moderator] with a good thing. I LITERALLY HATE this new release and I'm considering cancelling my whole CS subscription and moving to something else.    Adobe.... PLEASE... NEVER change the way basic features work and QA your releases. I'm cool with maybe some bugs on the AI stuff... but this new PS is garbage and super buggy.   PS... FIX YOUR [removed by moderator]

I have tried going to Get Info and changing it to default to Photoshop, but the change will not hold.  Anyone have any suggestions.  It either opens up in Acrobat or Preview. Thanks! 

Every time I click 'Quick Export' or 'Export As' I'm met with an error message;Could not complete the Quick Export as PNG command because of a program error. I currently can't export any of my work. The error is present on both Photoshop 2023 and Photoshop Beta.I have updated both. Reinstalled both. The issue is still present.

Hello. I have a PC, the Windows version is 10, and I ran into a problem that is in photoshop version 26.9 (in beta version too). The problem is with an Extension button that is not working/unavailable (outdated version. Can you tell me how to solve the problem?

Having trouble figuring out how to not only cut out a subject and remove the background but also saving that subject as an individual image so I can add that to a powerpoint slide. Does anyone have any ideas?

On Photoshop, I use a thumbnail template, where I have multiple groups: Title, Talent, Products, Background. I've been using that template for years now, I clean up once in a while but I have a couple of recurring images I use and like to keep in my template. Recently, even when some layers are not checked, it's like Photoshop thinks they're there? So if I want to resize one of the images that's part of any group, I need to hit free transform in order to be able to resize this image using only this image's borders. Or when I have to have 2 images on the thumbnail from the same group, I can't move them separately, it moves both of them and I need to remove one from the group to move it and then put it back in. I don't mind if that's just the way Photoshop is going to be, I'll re-organize the template accordingly, but it's kind of annoying and it didn't use to be this way up until the latest (I'm on v26.9, on PC) update? So, am I missing a quick fix?

when I updated photoshop to the latest Windows Patch 26.8..1, now my  contextual task bars are only  partially showing. I have attached a photo below. Nothing else in the environment has chganged. Is there a way to reset it or roll back to an earlier version. Anyone else having this same issue. I am running Windows 11 Pro on a Lenovo Laptop and an Ultra 7 165U processor. Suggestions and Help would be appreciated.  

Since updating to Photoshop 26.9.0 20250724.r.15 today I've got a problem with Generative Fill. I can select an area, right click on it and choose generative fill, type in a prompt and I get three variations offered - however, the prompt box is then blank and unselectable  so I can't modify the prompt or indeed even generate futher variations from the same prompt the 'Generate' button remains active, but with a blank and un-selectable prompt box.     Photoshop 26.9.0 20250724.r.15 on Windows 11 24H2 

I've seen some art streams where the digital artists are zoomed in on their canvas and they have the full picture view, typically in the top left corner of the screen. I'm wondering if I can do the same, or if I just mistook that feature for another digital program? Thanks for the help!

Hi, i am having 900 + images scanned as shown in the attachment. Is there a easy script or action that would just straighten the layers. and also crop single single frames as images or sequence at a desired size or aspect ratio. pFA  

Hi, i'm literally just trying to move a gif to a still image. I've copied and pasted the frames of the gif into the still image i'm trying to paste it into, now to have the images actually be over the background.But when I select match layer across frames, the gifs are still transparent, and I end up creating a gif that flashes from background to gif 1, to gif 2, etc.How do I fix this?

Issue:When I duplicate a PSD file on Mac that already has an Asset Review link, rename it, and make changes to the new file, the new Asset Review link still shows assets from the original file. Expected:The new link should only show assets from the updated PSD. Observed:It often pulls in assets from the original file, even after renaming and editing. Note:This happens frequently, across multiple Photoshop versions. System: macOSPhotoshop: Multiple versions 

Hi, I'm on Photoshop 26.8.1. I have a document of 600dpi, 41x29 centimeters... When I try to save it as .psd, I have the error message saying that the document is too heavy, over 2Go, and that I have to save it as .psb... But when I save it as .psb, the document is just 225 Mo (When I save it as .tif, it's 218 Mo)... What's the bug ? Thank you.

Hello everyone,I'm working on a Photoshop script and need to select the content of the current active layer without triggering any dialog boxes or pop-ups.I've tried executeAction( idsetd, desc, DialogModes.NO ), but this often brings up a "feather selection" dialog. This is the only place I found to ask a ? for Photoshop 24.7.3 Can someone please help and direct my ? to the proper place? I can't find the proper place to ask a ? I accidently closed the L side bar with crop, magnifying glass, eraser, clone, etc.... and can't find where to open it again. Some how it separated itself from the background work area and can't get it reattached so moves with the background work space. Thank you for help! Mac OS 14.3.1

Hi, I just updated Photoshop to the newest version, and my computer and graphics card is also updated, but my Photoshop can't open. Can anyone help me? I also resetting Photoshop preferences.

Before the Photoshop 2025 update, I was able to select a layer within a group by simply using Alt/Option + Left Click when my Move Tool was set to Auto-Select and the dropdown was on "Group". This option no longer works, and my muscle memory is struggling here hahaha, since I've been using Command + Alt + Right Click to achieve the same function.Any help with this?
