I have recently downloaded the trial version of Premiere Elements as it has been suggested to me that it would be an acceptable replacement for the elderly Windows Movie Maker 6 which I have been using for years. I successfully put a title at the beginning of my Video Story but could not work out how to change the colour of the background and/or text. I am sure it is easy when you know how! It seems that one should be able to add text before items within the video story and at the end but, here again, I could not seem to get the text box to go live so that I could type in the required text. I would appreciate any assistance offered. Another problem I encountered was with the Output Preview. I would have expected that when I clicked on the house'shaped cursor it would set the video going but this did not appear to happen. I could click on the cursor and drag it along but this does not give a true picture of what one is getting in the final
I mistakenly bought PE2019 having seen that is supports h.265. I didn't read deeply to dsee that it does on MacOS. On my Windows machine it does not. $99 mistake on my part.
I've seen that this is possible on a Win, but how is it done on a Mac?I want to make a square preset, for SoMe clips.Any help will be appreciated.Best regards,Ricki
I just downloaded Premier elements 2019 and I'm having a lot of issues with it. The workspace crashes within seconds of me opening it now and I have been completely unable to get the video editor to open. I am not very computer savvy so I apologize if I need to get more information. finding the computer specs was challenging on its ownI'm running the program on a 2 year old Aesus intel Core i7 7500U CPU@ 2.70ghz 2.90ghz11.9 GB of installed ram usable 64 bit operating system x64 based processorI haven't upgraded or touched anything of this stuff so its factory defaultI don't know what "drivers" and stuff like that I have I apologize, I will try to find that out
So I've been working on a video for a few weeks off and on and went to finish it up today. However, the program now keeps crashing within seconds of opening or it'll stay open and when I hit play the line will move and the audio will play but it's just stuck showing one frame the whole way through and sometimes it'll zoom way in on the frame where you can only see the top of my head and is just stuck there while the audio plays. If I try and skip to another clip it may try to play for a few seconds (just audio) then the program crashes) I've tried rendering it as well and it just stops at 1 frame besides making it to 200 something once. My computer specs are Windows 10Intel 9700k1080Ti32GB ram
I have 20+ reels of 8mm film that were digitized by Kodak. Many of the frames need individual editing. I was hoping Premiere would work much like a text editor. Select frames (words) on the timeline by highlighting and then select a tool to cut and paste, lighten or sharpen, change contrast etc. I have been able to do some of the aforementioned editing but only at the beginning or end of the timeline. How do I get to the middle? thanks
I upgraded recently to a 2018 Mac Mini with an external GPU, and just installed my Premiere Elements 11 - (running latest Mojave version 10.14.5). It runs ok except I can't hear any audio. Bummer.Anyone know of a work around?
I can not get my clips to play from the timeline via the viewer/player. When I click the buttons for play etc nothing happens
Hello all,I've run into a curious situation with Premiere Elements 2018. My desktop computer runs an 8-core, 16-thread i7 5960X with plenty of memory, fast storage, and two nvidia GTX 1070 GPUs. I also recently picked up a Lenovo X1 Yoga 3rd gen, which has a 4-core, 8-thread i7 8650U, also enough memory and fast storage, and has a much less-powerful Intel integrated GPU. IPC per core of the two CPUs are essentially identical, and clock for clock, the 5960X is actually faster. Here's my issue:When using the same 4K input footage, with the same project settings and same output, encoding/transcoding is more than TWICE as fast on my 4-core laptop, which keep in mind begins thermal throttling pretty quickly, than on my 8-core desktop which has more than twice the cores. Every single benchmark gives my desktop a 2.5X advantage, and when using Handbrake, or other tools, that holds up.So, I ran the GPUSniffer tool on my desktop, and it spits out " * Not chosen because of kernel failure." on bo
Hello all, I know I need to save a new whateverythingamajig because my media is offline due to losing the direct passage it first found its media. But my premiere elements 15 does not say @4075252 is XX file?... sooo... HOW? Please tell me how I can turn on this option i have hundreds of files otherwise. I took my files from one HD to another mac and so its lost all the pathways. Thanks
Hi there,This is a long-standing problem that I thought might have been fixed with an update...but then it is Adobe and their software is littered with bugs that aren't sorted out...Anyway, in previous versions, if PE couldn't locate a media file, a dialog box would pop up asking you to locate the file in question - easy. But with PE14, a box appears but doesn't give you any indication which file it is looking for. So I'm forced to click on "skip" and have a project full of empty media files that I then have to go through one at a time and "replace". In fact, the dialog box doesn't say anything - it's only because of previous versions that I know it is looking for something. Anybody new to the software would be left wondering what the hell is going on.Very poor.By the way, I'm working on a Mac.Can anybody offer me any help/tips?ThanksMartin
I was in the middle of two different products with Premiere Elements 18. Because my Adobe products are offered to me through my university, I have to put in a new access code once a year. Because I only had an access code for Elements 19, I downloaded the new version. Since downloading it, my project files say "media offline". The location of all of my video clips have not changed, but when I am asked where they are located, it says "file importer reported a generic error". When I try to reimport each of the clips, they still say media offline. When I searched the forums, the suggestion was to clear the media cache and let it rebuild overnight. I tried that, but I still have no luck. I've been having a new problem every week, and I thought that by updating Premiere it would be the end of my woes. This has already not been the case. What else can I try?
When using a USB headset, I can hear the audio track(s) just fine. But when headset is removed from USB port, playback appears to be muted when editing my videos using PremElem 2019. System sounds, iTunes, original video clips...they all sound great through my standard system audio, as usual. Only PremElem audio is silent.Have restarted system, restarted PrEl software, no luck. Thanks for your advice.- Mike Mc- PremElem2019Windows 10
Hi,I've some very large files. I'm only using small clips from them in PE2019. Is there a way to only keep the segment used and discard the footage that's not used to reduce the filesize? If not, is there some way to trim / edit a video in PE2019 prior to importing it to the library?Cheers
I have Adobe Premiere Elements 2018 on Windows 10 desktop. When attempting to export my video of 95 clips, photos, audio and text, I am getting message "Shake reduction is in progress or has encountered an error." I split the video into three saved sections and I have determined that the middle section has a clip causing the problem because the other two sections could be exported. Would appreciate assistance in determining which clip may be causing the problem!I also tried a reboot and the following instructions from Premiere Pro Forum (pasted below)"Follow the steps below to resolve this issue:Close the Export & Share dialog box and open it again. If you still face the issue, close the Export & Share dialog box, delete the Shake Reduction effect from the clip, and open the Export & Share dialog again."But this did not work either!
I can create a movie and use Export Share to Vimeo tool to export directly to Vimeo. However, after using the tool once, closing the project and creating another project, the render goes to 98% then stops and gives an error msg. Any idea as why this has happened multiple times?
Just switched to Premiere Elements 2019 on Windows and when I select DVD as my destination,I just get the blue twirl of nothing-ness. Meaning, I get no Resolution, Format, or Quality controls. My internal burner is an HP bd340.Thanks for the help!Steve Ross[Post branched by mod]
We just upgraded to Premiere Elements 2019 from 2014 on all of our CPUs (new builds). In the past, we've told our community producers to just copy the VTS (mpg files) folder from theirDVD (recorded on a desktop DVD recorder at their church) to their hard drive and then bringthe files into Premiere. Always worked like a charm in 2014, but in 2019, their not getting any audio \unless they covert their files in another program.Help is greatly appreciated.ThanksSteve

Hi,Newbie question...I'm using Premiere Elements 2019. I've created a slide-in text and would like a background shape to appear along with it. It doesn't have to slide in, but can fade in.I've used one video channel for the slide-in text and another channel to fade-in the shape (that goes behind the text). Is this the best way to build up titles or can you create a title as one element and simply create that on one video channel?I've come from a PowerDirector background where you create titles as a block with everything contained.Incidentally, PD is so slow and crashes a lot, so I've moved to PE 2019.Chris
1) Is there a way to make the Audio Mixer default to +6 DB? As it is I have to do it for every audio clip.2) I read somewhere on the web that the application would display an audio trace. Where/how do I do this?
I have been using PE 2019 for about 6 months and have noticed several small problems.Importing a .mov file created in a TV studio from Tricaster that has been saved to my SSD only the audio is imported. I can successfully import this file to PE 14. I can Share the file as a .mov file and this file will import to PE2019. I can work with the new file in PE14 or PE2019 without problems. The original file plays fine with Quick Time Player.I have a friend who has the same problem with the Tricaster .mov files.Does anyone know if Adobe has changed the file type that can be imported/exported? Is there a setting I am missing? My system is an Imac running OS X Mojave 10.14.5.
When I import a clip into Premiere Elements 2018, the audio does not come with it. Can you help?
