Premiere Pro Motion Tracking Plug-Ins for Real Estate Marketing Videos?

Hello,

I am writing because I am in need of some direction for real estate marketing videos. I am wanting to track a highlighted border that outlines a property in a drone flyover as well highlighting roads and 3D titles that track as well. Here is a link to a video that does what I am talking about - Example Video -This one is a bit more advanced than what I am trying to make, but eventually I'll want to work up to something like this. It looks like they are using some kind of template to do all of this and it doesn't seem like it should be this difficult to accomplish.

I am new to premiere pro and I have spent the past few months studying how it works, using trial and error to get things right, but I feel like I haven't gotten anywhere. There has to be an easier, more time efficient way for me to do this right? I have seen a number of different motion graphics templates, but some are more expensive than others, and some may or may not be the best quality. I just need some insight. Price is not necessarily an issue as long as it has a good range of applications.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to which plug-ins work the best for what I am trying to accomplish? Any sort of direction would be extremely helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Weston

Hi WestonG,

I completely agree with BrandedChannels & Ann Bens.

For best results try Camera Tracking in Adobe After Effects. I am not able to find any tutorial video, but these videos will give you an idea.

3D CAMERA TRACKER

CAMERA TRACKING & 3D TEXT EXTRUSION

Thanks,

There is no motion tracking plugin for Premiere.

Motion tracking is done in AE.

Actually, there is a motion tracking feature in PPro, but it's for basic tracking like blurring faces, not for positioning texts and objects...

Cannot resist to do a bit of nit picky.

Premiere tracks effect-masks: granted it is a motion but it is not motion tracking.

Yes you can do motion tracking in Premiere but you will have to keyframe manually.

Reviewing this video, I strongly advise you to look into After Effects for this type of work, rather than Premiere Pro.

Although some of the excellent technology has been ported over from Ae to PPro over the years, this was mainly done to assist the editor in doing simple tasks, such as creating a blurred out area (you know, for criminals, suspects, license plates, etc.) or some other form of basic motion tracking.

The sample video you've given, however, shows every sign of extensive motion tracking technology being used (including areas that go off screen, not an easy task), so your best bet really is doing the basic edit in Premiere Pro and then adding the motion tracking VFX work in After Effects, using dynamic link. Possibly even a dedicated motion tracker such as Mocha Pro. This type of animation is so specific to your footage, that no motion graphics template will help you get it (exactly) right.

There are various sources available on YouTube (or Lynda.com) that will teach you how to do this in Ae. I particularly like the free tutorials offered by http://www.videocopilot.net (Andrew Kramer is a blast).

However, be prepared to spend a lot of hours doing this... or hire someone that can.

I appreciate your response. You are right, Ae is certainly my best bet for what I am trying to do. I was hoping that there might be a more simple way to make these videos, but I suppose my best bet would be to keep working at it and hopefully get to a point where the videos are presentable. Would rather not pay someone when I have all the tools to do it myself.

Thanks again for the input!
