Hi there!!I am using the RH 2015, upload via link (word file). In my document (word), there are special characters, in the project HR recognizes these characters, but when I generate the responsive html5, that does not recognize anymore.I try modify the ecoding to (UTF-08), but that does not work too.How can i fix it?Tks!

Hi everybody,I have RH 11 on a Win7 Professional machine.I have 2 projects sharing a folder with topics and images.I went to the Head Office with my laptop and did some changes on a copy of the project, and when I returned home I overwrote everything, i.e. topics & images into the shared folder, and the project themselves. However since then I receive notifications to update the shared resources, and I did so the first time, only to find out that I was taken back to a previous version of the shared resources, so right now I always receive this message as I open any one of my projects, and it is quite annoying. Also I cannot quite use the functionalities of the shared resources (synchronize shared resources).Does anyone know how I could "reset" those shared resources to the "now" state?Thank you,Bogdan Marin

People,I am having a problem with variables, when they are used in topic headings.We produce two separate versions of a webhelp. The text is almost exactly the same, but the product has a different name in each version. In one version it is called FLOW; in another it is called Service Builder. We use user-defined variables to control what name is used to refer to the product, when we generate the webhelp.So, I have (for example) a topic that begins with the heading:Building a FLOW scriptwhere the text occupied by ‘FLOW’ is provided by a variable with two values - FLOW, and Service Builder.So, when I generate the Service Builder version of the web help, I set Robohelp to use the Service Builder variables set, and the text and the table of content headings all generate fine; FLOW is nowhere to be seen.But, when I type ‘FLOW’ into the Search box, the system finds each of the three topics that are constructed like the example above, with a topic heading that includes the variable used to d

Under certain circumstances, when navigating through the TOC in landscape or mobile mode (using Chrome and other browsers), extra space is added between certain books, depending on the order of the navigation, making the spacing inconsistent.From what I can tell, when this occurs, the extra space is called by the following html (according to Chrome Inspect):  <li class=“child max-height-transition show” … However, where the space is hidden, as it should be, I get the following html:  <li class=“child max-height-transition” … In addition to the lack of “show”, the second html also activates the following CSS:  div.toc-holder ul li.child:not(.show) {    overflow-x: hidden;  }The latter behavior appears correct. However, for some reason RH is failing to hide the <li> class at certain times in landscape or mobile mode. Has anyone run into a similar issue? If so, have you come up with a resolution or at least figures out the cause?Thanks.

Please bear with me, this is a bit messy due to the complexity of my troubleshooting in implementing Twisties.I’ve been trying to implement the Twisty functionality for dropspots and expandspots in our RH2015 help projects and have come across several issues that I’m in need of support. I'm using trial versions of RoboHelp 2015 and RoboHelp Server 10. We've used the previous version of RoboHelp and RoboHelp Server to publish our help for quite some time. Our software is moving to be available to be viewed on various devices so we are trying to test publishing responsive HTML 5 to the RoboHelp server.When we attempt to publish the project we get one of two errors  "Publishing has been aborted. The FTP session was terminated." or " Failed to publish to "TEST_EM". Reason: The FTP session was terminated." We have attempted this on two different author machines and can't get past it.Steps:We set up a server with RoboHelp 10 installed.We created a test project with RoboHelp 2015 with a responsive HTML 5 layout.We might be filling in the Server Directory field wrong but the documentation does not at all mention how to publish responsive HTML 5 to the RoboHelp server, or if it does, it doesn't match the actual screens. We have an established RH Server 9 that we want to upgrade to RH Server 10. Because we are migrating from an older box with a 32-bit OS, our IT team does not want to upgrade to RH 10 on the same box because of the complexity involved in upgrading a 32-bit server OS to a 64-bit OS.There are update-in-place capabilities with RH Server using the Configuration Tool and with Server 10 there's a tool to migrate server 10 data to a new box, but there's no automated process for upgrading while migrating.So, this means that I must first install Server 9 on the new box, manually migrate the Server 9 data and then upgrade in place to Server 10.We use SQL Server instead of Access but I haven't migrated the SQL data yet because that should be relatively straightforward. And, quite honestly, I could live without keeping the usage data and metrics. It's the help project data that's not working well. Hi all. I'm just now experimenting with a trial copy of RH Server 9.ISSUE: When I attempt to log in to the Web Administrator (pictured below) with admin/admin for ID/pwd, nothing happens when I click the Sign In button.Notes: My IT guy says that this is likely an Apache-side issue, since 3 different browsers are showing the same behavior. He's not sure how to fix the issue though.I'm running RH Server on a Win 7 VM on my Win 7 laptop.The VM system has Tomcat 6.0.41 installed.Any thoughts on what might be going on would be greatly appreciated.

Problem: When I generate Responsive HTML5 output using a conditional build expression, there is not TOC in the output. I know the right content is included in/excluded from the output based on searches that I perform in the output. The only problems seems to be there is no TOC. Hi All,I am facing issue in publishing my project. While I am publishing the Project using "WebHelp" i am see two entries are creating in Projects section under the "Web Server Administrator". Due to this issue I am not able to see the content. I have created another Area (Instead of Journal) but it is not the default area setup hence I have to give "area" Name as well as Context ID.Kindly help me in fixing the issue;

When I created PDF from RH topic, images are larger than the page border. So, what's the best size in RH for PDF output, or RH isn't the best choice for single-sourcing?

We recently upgraded to RoboHelp 2015, but it seems that many some of our users are running into a problem when search our published Webhelp system using IE 11: They will search a term and the results field will display: "Error: Failed to load xml file". This is happening sporadically. Some users can refresh their screen and the search problems will go away. For others it persists. For some people the problem will go away when we republish the system, only to find someone else with the problem the next day. I can't seem to replicate it on my machine.Any ideas what it might be? I've updated to the latest version (12.0.3.428) and this problem does not exist in Chrome.Thanks,Greg

Hi allI've been reading and re-reading the following discussion but I still cannot get my ISF style mapping settings to work when I import FM files.Using FM13 and RH2015Re: ISF Export I've also looked at Peter Grainge's "gotcha" on his website.The steps I take are as follows:1. Create blank project in RH2. Under Project Settings, Import tab, select Browse and select the *.isf file that I exported from a previous project, which contains all the style mappings between FM and RH.3.  The CSS that I created for that project is also brought in at this point.4. I do not click Edit under FrameMaker document, as I want to use the mappings in the *.isf file.5. I click Apply, then OK.6. I then select Import Framemaker file from the menu and select a single fm file.7. In the Import dialog, I reselect the *.isf file that I selected before (though I would have expected it to be selected already as I chose it in Project Settings). Hi all,When importing files from Framemaker, a new CSS is created for each file. Why is this? Is there any easy and quick way to delete them all together? Or should I not delete them? I want all my topics to use the same CSS - so I can't see the point of having these just to clutter up the Stylesheets folder.It's not just a CSS either, each new topic appears in its own folder under HTML files in the Project Manager, all the images, baggage files, multimedia etc all contain folders with the same name as the topics. Hi allI'm using Robohelp 2015 and I need to have both online and PDF/Word output.I've been working with the Master Page functionality in Robohelp and it works pretty well for Word output, but I cannot find anywhere how to set up Chapter numbering for the Word output.I have created a header in a master page that contains "Chapter    : <<PD Chapter Name>>, but I cannot work out how to put in chapter numbers that will auto-generate, so that it would say "Chapter 1: Introduction" (for example).I thought of inserting a field but there do not seem to be any for Chapter numbers, just things like dates etc.Can anyone help?Thanks in advanceLaura

Hi guys,Is it possible to make CSH calls within a merged help project without hard coding the full web address in the link?For example, in a topic I want to link to a search topic which exists in a project for functions common across all modules.At the moment I just insert a link following Peter Grainge's source project set (described on his website, but modified slightly to work with Multiscreen HTML5).I was thinking maybe it was possible to create the links using CSH Topic ids as this would solve a number of issues if we ever need to support more than the desktop output (long story why we aren't using Responsive HTML5 and not something I can change in the short term). However, I seem to need to specify the full web address, which means the links are incorrect when I publish to our review environment.Instead of inserting my link as:http://mydomain.com/index.htm?rhcsh=1?&rhmapid=SEARCHTOOLI'm hoping to enter the link something like:rhmapid=SEARCHTOOLAnd have it just do the CSH call

Hi all, I'm brand new to using Robohelp 11. I'm converting a small project from Framemaker into help, as a trial.I'm using RH11 and FM 13 from TCS5.When I import some files from Framemaker, I go to Project Settings, click Edit under Framemaker and am able to map FM to RH styles fine.Then I do some generation, work some more on the project, go back in to the same dialog, and the + sign beside each of the FM styles is no longer there. So I am now unable to make any style changes (for example, I want to change the colour of my Heading 1 style in RH).Can anyone tell me why this is happening or what I have done?!Any help gratefully received.ThanksLaura

Dear,I was using RoboHelp 8.0 for our help file compiling, in the past time, I was using HTML Help for all my applcations. Now I want to create a WebHelp for my apllication, I got a problem while browse the help contents. Here is my problem, in contents, there are many books in there, when I select one page in book "Get Started" and then click a hyperlink in this page, it should go to the page "Creating a blank system" under the book "Creating a System' and it go there indeed, my problem here is that the left pannel the contents, there is no change, it still stay in "Get Started" book, it cannot redirect to book "Creating a System' ->"Creating a blank system". would you please guide me how to fix it, this is very important for me I think.I need to let you know this works well for HTML help(.chm).thanks for your help,NgCC

Hi,I am trying to find the API to set the style in RoboHelp Script. In the Clean Project Example (as in the following code snippet), it shows how to find a undefined style and remove that style. In this case, instead of token.removeAttribute("style"), is it possible to set a style, for example, a paragraph tag, say "body". Also, is it possible to find a paragraph tag, say "Normal", and replace it with "body" paragraph tag.if(token.tokenType == RoboHelp.TokenType.TOKENTAG){//Does this token have style attribute?if(token.getAttribute("style") != ""){//This token has a style attribute. Help please. What am I doing wrong?We have RH11 and publish output as webhelp. Someone in the company gave me permission for a sharepoint site so I could implement version control, but we are having all sorts of trouble. I am not a sharepoint user, so I'm fumbling in the dark. My RH and Doc-To-Help version control experience is based on using a system someone else has already created for me.I thought this would be easy and sold my team on the idea, but now team members are overwriting each other all the time. We cannot seem to lock a project so that no one else can edit/overwrite. We get messages on a topic level that we do not have permission to work on them, but we want the entire project to be locked. Also, another team member keeps opening files from SharePoint site instead of from their local drive.Where is detailed information on best practices for setting up and using RH version control system with SharePoint?
