RSC shows the database, but can't connect with RoboHTML

We just upgraded computers from older 32-bit XP systems to 64-bit XP systems. Deactivated,reinstalled, and upgraded to RH8.0.2. Created the db connection in RSC3.1, so far so good.

Using the Open from Source Control button, everything is fine (see the config_rsc.gif image below ) til we click OK to get the files. We get the error dialog box shown in RSC_connect_failure.jpg.

Our database is running on an XP 32bit machine, but that shouldn't make a difference, shoud it?

We were never able to get Windows XP Professional 64 to work, we thought about enabling a Windows 7 VM but had to reject that idea because of the cost of licensing all the associated software that would go with the VM instance. In the end, we installed Windows XP SP3 and are happily chugging along.
