Hi Adobe Community,I would like a text field to populate a text hint when I select a particular option from a pull down menu. I want the text hint to appear grey when that option is selected and I want it to disappear once the user starts to type in the text field (and return in grey if the text field is left blank). And when the user starts to type in the text field, I want the text to be black. If the user selects any other option in that pull down menu, the text hint shouldn't appear at all.  I'm pretty sure I need to do on focus/on  blur events in the text field, similar to what I have done for a Check Box, but I just can't seem to come up with the right script to make it happen for a drop down menu instead. I'm also guessing the 'default' verbiage might need to be removed since this text field has no default text? I have a bunch of PDF fillable forms that have data. The form itself has been updated recently and I would like to extract the data from the old version of the form to the new version of the form. The New form will be saved to the same file name as the old form. Is this something that can be accomplished with the Action Wizard or Java Script? I found a way in "Prepare Forms" to extract the data to a file named as the original document name and with an extension of *.fdf.Maybe there is a way to batch convert these files to .fdf files from the old forms and then import to the new form.

Hi team,I have a new microsoft surface which i believe uses arm (I'm not tech savvy) and I have been trying to get my pdf's to view and keep getting this error: Unable to check "enable pdf thumnail previews in windows explorer.I have tried to check the box in the setting in the attached example though you can see its grey out making it impossible to check.Appreciate the help to get this working.

Hello All, Currently trying to prepare a new hire form that would be asking to enter their bank account numbers for their paycheck. I'm wanting to require them to fill out at least 1 of 2 fields asking for either their checking or savings number but the company allows them to deposit a percentage into each account if they wish so to be able to fill out both text fields optionally. Just wondering how I could go about requiring either field, but allowing the option to fill out both. Thanks!

HiUsing Adobe Acrobat, created a PDF form, down the bottom of the form I drew a line where someone would sign. I am reviewing and editing this document and I cannot select, delete or move this line! Help! I tried to erase it but that won't work either!

I try to open some PDFs, but the system says: "Adobe Acrobat cannot open 'file name' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."I can understand if this happens once, but I find it hard to believe that it's happened 3 or 4 times in the last 3 or 4 days.What’s the issue? Italiano:Buongiorno a tutti, ho un problema da qualche giorno con Adobe Acrobat. Apro alcuni PDF ma il sistema dice che "Adobe Acrobat non è in grado di aprire "nome file" perchè è un tipo di file non supportato oppure perchè il file è stato danneggiato (ad esempio è stato inviato in allegato a un messaggio e-mail e non è stato decodificato correttamente).Io posso capire che succeda una volta, ma non posso credere che negli ultimi 3-4 giorni mi sia successo 3-4 volte.Quale è il problema?

With an update to Acrobat DC 2024, the merge of xps files to a pdf file didn't work anymore. The used registry key for earlier versions, with BlockXPSParsing=0 seems not to work.  So is there a new way to do this task as taking every xps file and print it to pdf is not suitable, as there are daily hundreds! Thanks for our help! Ron

Unser Adobe Acrobat Pro Version 2025.001.20435 fängt beim Start an ein Upgrade zu laden,allerdings hört es bei 93% auf, das Icon rechts oben mit dem drehenden Rädchen bleibt die ganze Zeit da und bei jedem Neustart des Programmes fängt es wieder von vorne an zu laden bis es 93% hat.Was kann man dagegen machen?

Hi, I am having this issue, long story short:I use windows 11 pro, with Segoe UI as a font, it is installed on the PC but when i export the pdf from the software i am working in, the text is all garbled.The font it is embedded in the pdf if i look at the properties.What should i do to fix this? Thank you in advance!

Hi,I'm experiencing an issue with a filled in pdf form that was saved in macOS opening blank in Windows 10. I've adjusted security settigns in Adobe DC Reader and tried opening in a web browser and printing to pdf but still only half of the information saves with that workaround. I know it's not a corrupt file because I can view the information in Outlook preview and on various web browsers with all the information displayed. Any thoughts on a workaround or solution?Thanks!

At the end of april I needed to use acrobat and got the free trial for it, and after 6 days I tried cancelling the order. I didn't realize at the time, but my request to cancel the plan never went through, and I have been charged now without realizing. Is there any way to get my money back and cancel my order, as I really can not afford this subscribtion?

I am currently trying to modify our mileage sheet to do calculations automatically. Originally we were using simplified field notation of: (Miles1*0.67)+(Hours1*1.5)+(Misc1) to calculate the subtotal of each line. Recently there has been a change though, The Hourly rate needs to be $17.00The milage rates are .70 if they travel less than 99 miles and .44 if they travel 100 miles or more. I've attached a screenshot naming each of the fields  

When I download pdf files they are marked as "pending". I can't open them. The only option is to delete them. How can I fix this?

When I write on a PDF with my stylus and save the PDF, it shows all my stylus comments, but when I go to print the PDF, all of my stylus comments disappear even though I have saved AS. This has never happened before. Any suggestions? 

Is there a way to send a pdf file remotely to a server that has adobe pro on it and have the file optimized and then sent back?

When I redact numbers in my PDFs, I use the tool for SS numbers and CC numbers and usually it redacts the check account numbers as well.  However, not always.  Does anyone know how to redact a bank account number at the bottom of a check?

Suddenly I can no longer combine several PDF files into one. When I click on 'Combine Files' under 'Tools', I get the following error message: 'Something went wrong. We're sorry for the inconvenience. Please try again later'.  It's been happening for the last week and is very frustrating as I use this paid-for feature a lot. Any ideas please how to fix it? Many thanks 

I have problems when displaying the different signatures I work with. This stops in the signature menu. This is because the header of all the signatures is the same (they are government issued signatures and cannot be changed). Is there any way to decrease this text to be able to see the whole line of text of this signature?//Tengo problemas a la hora de visualizar las diferentes firmas con las que trabajo. Esto para en el menú de firma. Esto es debido a que la cabecera de todas las firmas es igual (son firmas emitidas por el gobierno y no se pueden cambiar). Hay alguna forma de disminuir este texto para poder ver toda la linea de texto de esta firma?

After embedding a 3D model in U3D format into a PDF, the display appears as a grey image instead of rendering the actual model with textures or details. Is there a way to ensure the 3D view renders the model correctly with full visual details? Additionally, is there a direct method to convert a SolidWorks part file into a PRC or U3D format compatible with Adobe Acrobat's 3D PDF requirements?

One set of bank statement pdf's open in Acrobat Pro with only their standard headings (e.g. name of institution) but without the data. If I open the same file in Acrobat Reader or Preview, it's fine. I thought I remembered this topic coming up before with no solution but an understanding that the issue is Adobe's, but don't see anything now. Does anyone also have this issue and is there a fix?I am using Pro, latest version, on my Macbook Pro.
